This review is for the bakery. Whenever a birthday comes along I always special order my cakes through the bakery. I always get whip cream frosting(I don’t like butter Crème), raspberry filling(from what I hear custard is delicious also) and have them decorate the topping but I add the toys. I use the toys my kids have and it turns out to be a better looking cake. I try to place the order a week before if you can avoid the next day. I think I did this once. They made it happen and the quality was great as always but I try to be considerate and order it at least a week before.

We come here for groceries, cakes, and sandwiches for lunch. They have a great selection of food and if there is something that you want and they don’t have it, you can put in a request that they get it in and will let you know once they get it in. I love that Travis is one of the test locations for Click2Go because it’s great. You go online, order your groceries, and pick a window when you want to pick up your stuff(30 minute windows). The Click2Go pick up is where the old mini comm is(to the left of the commissary). You pull up and let them know that you’re there for pick up with your last name, and they bring out your order, load it into your car for you, you pay and done! So convenient lately since I have a 2 month old and there have been many times when I didn’t want to go into a grocery store to pick up items with him. We’ve never had an issue with customer service here. Yes, some of the people here have the look like they’re tired or can’t wait to be off work, but who hasn’t? While they may have the look on their face as I approach the check out line, they have all still been friendly and professional.

If you want to have the worst customer service in the world, you should come here. The employees either look like they hate their life or they are just flat out rude. Occasionally you will get a nice cashier who greets you with a smile. But that is very rare. You also have to tip the baggers because they are not paid. I think this is really weird because even if you are getting 3 things they will give you evil looks until you give them a dollar. The worst part about the commissary is definitely the fact that they always have expired Juicy Juice. I’m not even joking. Every time I go here, I have to go through all the Juicy Juice to find one that is not expired. I’ve also bought moldy cheese twice that had to be returned.

For all your food shopping needs, this commissary is the place to go(access to the base required of course!). They have a decent organic section and their overall size is definitely one of the largest of all the bases I’ve ever been stationed at. If you’re hungry for lunch, their deli section offers the best value made-to-order sandwiches. Their 12″ subs are $ 7.99 but it’s literally large enough for 2 people… or 2 meals! They have a good selection of sauces and toppings. It also looks like they’ve added paninis and other specialty sandwiches but at smaller sizes. Overall I’m very happy shopping here and it always clean and well-maintained. Oh, and you definitely save money compared to outside markets, except for maybe Walmart.

Worst customer service. And why not get a few baggers and actually pay them. Instead they have like 50 baggers that expect to be tipped. And after I tip my bagger they push my cart to my car when they are like 60 years older then I am. Giving two instead of 1 stars because the commissary sandwich is actually good.

Love the low prices. Retired or not. This should be your first stop for groceries. If you have the access.

Hear me out… while this is your typical commissary, with all the commissary glitches, this location offers CLICK2GO! OHMYWORD! This is the best idea ever! To be able to shop for a large grocery trip, online, avoid the crowds, and have brought straight to your car… how can you say no?! The ladies are always so helpful! While the shopping online comes with a learning curve, it is worth it!

They’re responsive w/customer requests and carry a wide variety of goods. They should work in going more organic and expand healthy living options.

When it’s military pay day, it’s going to be a a chaotic hot mess! Many shoppers like to park their carts in the middle of the aisles, and when they shop for groceries, they either shop hard or go home! There’s a lot of great deals around the commissary especially on food for your furry best friend. I found cat food here a lot cheaper than the ones from Walmart. Also, coupons are your best friend. You will often find deals lying on the shelves of the nicely stocked food. Plus, the prices are reasonable! Sometimes I even come across some other friendly shoppers to small talk with even if it’s over comparing the prices about cat food and talking about our cats. Overall, they have a decent variety of groceries especially in the organic section! You can’t go wrong with the commissary! Make sure you don’t forget to tip your bagger!

I have a love hate relationship with the commissary. I love the prices on staple items(meat, dairy, baking essentials, spices, etc.). I like that they’ll special order items, like my Peanut Butter & Co. and Goya products. I’m slightly irritated by the small(but growing) selection of natural/organic items. Today I saw coconut sugar for $ 3.49 and jumped for joy. I detest the produce section. Let me explain. The selection of organic produce is small; no biggie, I can go elsewhere for edible skinned items. What irritates me is the sheer volume of rotten fruits and vegetables. What gives? Every time I’m there I see produce staff inspecting and checking. Throw out the hundred eyed potatoes, the soft, slimy onions or the moldy oranges(peep my pic). This is the second time I’ve bought bagged fruit with a dead guy in the middle. On the bright side, both last time and this time, they’ve given me a full refund. The customer service is decent.

Great prices for the same products you find at every other grocery store. Can’t beat it! Baggers do work off tips though, so either bag it yourself, don’t tip them, or just tip. Lol They also have a deli with quality meats and a bakery as well.

Love going to the commissary. We drive all the way from concord once a month to do our big shop. We save so much with their low prices and coupons that it is totally worth the drive. The customer service is ok, the man at the deli was a little snappy today.

I love the Commissary! The prices are very reasonable and there’s no sales tax! Customer service is good and you do not have to load your own groceries into your car. They have baggers that will load them for you. These baggers work for tips only, so please tip accordingly. The fresh fish market is back and I am overjoyed. This small market comes here to sell fresh fish, salmon, crab and lobster tails every military pay day weekend. The lobster tails are hugh and are a great price. 8 – 9 dollars a piece. The only possible negative about shopping at the commissary is that they run out of the good stuff fast so get there early, it’s less crowded.

While products and selection are good I have recently found it difficult to shop here. I recently experienced a temporary disability. This required me to shop via electric cart. The carts are poorly maintained & no one seems responsible to see that they are charged. On more than one occasion the cart just stopped, unfortunately near the back of the store. No staff offered to help. I now shop at Raleys where carts are maintained and charged. Staff are helpful to disabled customers. Handicapped parking is also inadequate. There is too many«privileged spaces» often empty and few handicapped spaces.

This place boasts the best prices around. This is the number one reason I come here to shop for food. They really match, if not beat out most other places in terms of inventory. I never found myself not able to find something I needed. Though it is always busy, it’s still a nice place to come shopping. You have to tip the baggers, but I see no problems with it. They’re mostly just high school kids who use it as a part time job so I’m happy to help them. I know it’s probably not the best, but I liked their sushi. it gets the job done and it’s pretty inexpensive.

I love shopping at the commissary for ultimately one reason: THEPRICE! Yes, you have to watch item by item… but that’s pretty much anywhere. I would say that on average the Travis Commissary is $ 1 cheaper per item than the Lucky per item and between $ 1-$ 2 cheaper than Raley’s per item. I can’t walk about of Raley’s without spending about $ 45 for 1 – 2 bags of groceries. Each time I walk out of a grocery store here I find myself muttering… I should have gone to base for this. The baggers at the commissary… Yes…at the commissary the baggers work for tips. It is a military base culture things I suppose. More often than not you will see this at an AFB commissary. If this weirds you out… welcome to the military and might I point out that there is a self check-out. You bag yourself… no tip required. Too be honest, I’m not shocked by the poor customer service because it’s on par with the service at the gas station, the bx, the food court. We all know, we aren’t going to these places for the excellent customer service. Organics and health options… I was actually pretty impressed with the selection of organic and gluten free products offered on the shelf at the commissary. They even had a fairly wide selection of organic produce when I first arrived on base. Over two years I have seen that supply dwindle. A lot of the items I was purchasing in bulk have not been restocked and I don’t understand that. But… I still shop here because the price is right and it’s on the way home from work. A minimum 30% difference at the checkout is well worth shopping on base.

Typically, groceries are 20% less at the Commissary versus purchasing groceries at civilian supermarkets. So, I shop here because the grocery and meat selections are vast due to military personnels’ different cuisines prepared. I purchase my earthquake survival MRE’s here, too.

I remember as a child my mother would spend $ 200 on about 3 – 4 carts of groceries! We are not talking about shopping carts but those 2 level bagger type carts they have that the commissary uses to glide those bags of groceries to your car. Some of the prices now are a slight bit higher unless you hit the sales and have coupons in hand. My parents come here for their«signature» prime rib roast beef meat to use for my Father’s signature prime rib. Its cheaper by pound than Costco. Also Cigarettes here are cheaper due to no tax. Some of the items bought here are better off being bought at the Local grocery store or outlets. If you live out of the base its a good idea to check your Daily ad News for sale prices on certain items. The Meats and Cigarettes are cheaper to be bought from here. No Tax however they insert some type of fee/surcharge just observe your receipt. The downfall is the line to checkout. Texting while in line speeds up your checkout process!
