One of my favorite places to eat! Great breakfast! Great lunch! Parks nag in town is always difficult, but still worth it. Try the liver and onions or the burgers! Very friendly staff. Perfect stop for a Sunday brunch of French Toast or Pancakes! I could rave on and on…

We came to Julwin’s for breakfast on our first weekend living in Fairhope and have been coming back every week. The down-home style food is always as good as can be(especially that bacon), the service is always friendly and efficient and the ambiance is one of small-town charm. Julwin’s is a Fairhope institution for good reasons.

The food was delicious. One of the places we have gone to to try and eat at on our lunch break from glass. In walking distance from Faulkner campus. I ordered the Roll Tide Sandwich. It was yummy. The French fries were awesome. Good priced and would recommend to somebody else.

Julwin’s serves a very classic breakfast menu for the most part. There isn’t a lot of excitement or frills, mostly they just serve the basics. There a few exceptions: country fried steak, pork chops, and chopped steak are all available on the breakfast menu. With that said, it still seems to be very popular, drawing what seems to be a mostly local crowd. We waited about 10 minutes for our party of 6 to be seated. My biggest qualm with the food was the cooking of the eggs. For a restaurant that focuses primarily on breakfast, I except my eggs to be cooked properly. I ordered them over easy, and I’d say the yolk and surrounding area was bordering on raw. The chicken fried steak, however, was good.

Julwins was crowded when we got there and seems to be a favorite for locals in Fairhope. My fiancé and I found the service to be friendly and prompt, but the food was not outstanding. We went with a group: I got the chop steak, over medium eggs, cheese grits and a biscuit. He got the country fried steak, over easy eggs, grits and a biscuit. The others in our party got omelettes and pancakes. The biggest issue was the inaccuracy with which the eggs were cooked. My over medium eggs were over easy. And his over easy eggs were barely cooked– he couldn’t finish them as a result. The chop steak was a good patty, but that’s all it was. I’ve never had one without gravy or onions or anything topping it, but this was just a plain meat patty. The cheese grits and biscuit were good. My fiancé said the country fried steak was good. I would be hesitant to come back and order anything but scrambled eggs. However, the others in our party liked their omelettes and pancakes.

This place is like the local IHOP of Fairhope. Only better. Standard breakfast and lunch fare at reasonable prices and better than average quality.

Fantastic food, great service, good prices. I’ve been here dozens of times and it’s always a great experience. Once I did get some food that was cold, but that’s the only time I can remember not being fully satisfied. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the cooks really seem to know what they’re doing. Julwin’s is on my short list of good breakfast places.

Second day in a row we had breakfast. This restaurant is convenient, quaint and clean. Having a 5 year old means food has to be quick. Both dats they did not fail. Both kids loved the pancakes and we loved everything we had. It’s not common to make the breakfast basics exceptional, but they find a way to make it happen. Great service was just as great as the food.

We were staying at the Grand Hotel with family and were looking for an alternative to the $ 20 per person hotel breakfast buffet. We found Julwin’s to be the perfect small town diner. Excellent no frills local atmosphere and food. Tastes just like Saturday morning breakfast at home!

I saw that this was the oldest restaurant in Fairhope. It was on that basis that I tried it. I had chicken breasts, turnip greens and slaw. It was adequate but not special.

This is a great local breakfast spot. The spinach omelet was very good and my husband enjoyed the breakfast sampler. If you are in the mood for a hearty satisfying southern style breakfast this spot should not leave you wanting.

We found this restaurant using Unilocal and it was a great find! It seems like a place the locals frequent, which is always a good sign, and the staff was very friendly. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly.

This is a good place to go if you want a simple breakfast that you could make at home. If you want something with frills or is unique, there are other places around Fairhope that I’d recommend over Julwin’s. Julwin’s is a Fairhope institution and is the oldest restaurant in the town. With that said, it’s worth stopping in for. My fiancé is from Fairhope, and said we needed to check this off my list. I had the French toast platter, and my fiancé got pancakes. Both were good, and we learned on the way out they use real maple syrup, not that fake high frustose corn syrup«pancake syrup». Everything was made well, and the bacon was good! Service was great, and the restaurant was clean. I just can’t justify more than 3 stars because it’s not a place I’d come to again. But, I won’t discourage anyone from going there, either.

Seriously I’d give this place five stars for the bacon alone. It’s like bacon on bacon crack. I can’t explain it. But all four times I’ve been here while in town on business, I just can’t get enough of it. Add to that all around delicious food, great coffee, and fantastic service with real Southern hospitality, and this place is amazing. For a diner, it deserves all the stars I can give it.

Good eggs, hashbrowns and very nice staff. Biscuits are not homemade. I would try somewhere different next time just because of the biscuits.

Pork chop breakfast hit the spot! A lot a food for $ 8.99. 2 pork chops, 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast. Was delicious! Service was great! Can’t wait to go back.

Very fast, great service. Typical greasy spoon. Expect omelets, pancakes, bacon, etc. Nothing spectacular about the menu but a great place if you’re looking for a quick, hearty meal.

This quaint place was like a Waffle House but cleaner. Fast, inexpensive and greasy food. I liked it… There is a sign on the table asking if you could help small businesses by paying cash or check. At first I thought this was tacky, then I realized it was quite smart, most consumers don’t realize the cost of using credit at small businesses. The credit card fees add up! We paid cash and if you can you should too.
