Don’t even bother. Seriously. My wife and I came here for dinner on the recommendation of the receptionist at the holiday inn. I was skeptical after reading other recent reviews, but it was in the same parking lot and I was tired. We were in the restaurant for an hour, during which time we had two drinks, some«toasted»(aka burnt to hell) ravioli, and a bowl of french onion soup. We were seated promptly, and told that Dillon would be our waiter, and that he would be right with us. There were four other groups in the restaurant. Before we ever saw Dillon(which took about 10 minutes), one of the tables next to us got up and left because they’d never been served food. By the time Dillon got back with our drink order(which wasn’t worth it either, watered down bourbon and an almost completely virgin blended mudslide), and took our appetizer order(but not our entrée order), it had been 30 minutes. We’d already eaten the loaf of incredibly tough bread, and been through 3 or 4 glasses of water. At the 45 minute mark our appetizers finally made it to the table and Dillon was finally ready to take our entrée order, but we had decided that we didn’t want to wait another 45 minutes for steaks that all of the other recent reviews told us were going to be overdone anyway, so we paid and left. The hostess did knock a couple of dollars off for the incredibly slow service, but they could have offered to pay me, and I still wouldn’t go back.

The steak was not as ordered. I ordered a medium cooked steak and it was well over well done. The clam chowder was absolutely outstanding and probably the second best that I’ve ever had. The lobster was perfectly cooked and seasoned well.

My father wanted to try this place out tonight and my expectations were set rather low, being a steakhouse in a casino. After having been seated and with a friendly greeting from the hostess, things went promptly and swiftly, as well as courteously. Our waiter, Dillon, was an example of excellent customer service. We weren’t his only table tonight but with the prompt and great follow-up, we never would have known otherwise. He was very attentive to our take and needs. In fact, if I were to return in the future, I’d specifically want him to be the waiter once more. Add to it the food was delectable. The filet mignon was tender and juicy, perfectly cooked. It practically fell apart in my mouth. That’s the sign of an excellent quality of steak. Along with that, the side dishes were awesome. All in all, this is one of the hidden gems of Fallon. If you are a local, you have something special here. Also, if you’re lucky enough to have Dillon attend to your food needs, you’ll appreciate that he is an excellent attendant and a shining example of outstanding customer service.

I have been coming to Fallon for 30 years. This is the only REAL restaurant in Fallon. The few reviewers that give this place a low rating have a grudge… I have been to this place every year for a long time and have always been pleased

We thought this place was pretty good as it goes for a steakhouse in the middle of Nevada. I actually had fish, truth be told and it was quite good. Nothing noteworthy that is knocking it out of the park as it pertains to my review, but a good restaurant. It is a steakhouse planted in the middle of a casino… it is what it is. You can be fancily dressed up or super casual(as we were). Staff was friendly. They carry Churchill Vineyard Wines from the Churchill Winery down the way right there in Fallon, NV(the Churchill family has been ranching in that area for like 5 generations and started growing grapes only a few years ago… supporting a local ranch by drinking their wines is a good thing). I like that this steakhouse carries this wine label. They also gave us some chocolate at the end of the meal as we were paying the bill. ITISAWESOME! I think they might sell it in the gift shop at Stockmans’s or locally somewhere and I regret not having tracked it down to purchase.

Visited stockmans after hearing so much about it. We waited for about an hour from sit down to entrée. Pacing was not good. Entrée was overcooked. Carlie was a terrible server. I only paid for my beer. I would rate this far less than one star if i could.

Well the quality of the grade of steak is atrocious this place has continually gotten worse and find it hard to believe that anyone would venture back a second time. I know i won’t if it weren’t for a two for one i would really be mad(insert a superalative.

Going into the meal I was apprehensive because of the rating, but it’s lowish rating is not deserved. Our server was great, my red wine glazed steak was great and the appetizers were great, especially the crab cakes and shrimp cocktail. However the bread was hard to come by for some reason.

Four of us went there for Valentine’s Day. Made reservations a week ahead and still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated with several empty tables in sight. They had a Special menu for Valentines Day(wish I had known) because there were very limited items to choose from. The Filet with salad, veggie, potato and bread was $ 42 per person. The chicken monterey was $ 30. The desserts were all $ 7 each and a glass of red wine was $ 10. I don’t mind spending money on a good dinner but this was just OK. We had to ask for bread and water. The filet was good but had a sauce on it my husband said tasted of to much garlic. I really wanted this to be special and it just wasn’t. The waitress made an error and put our dinner $ 84 on our friends credit card and we are still trying to get that taken off. Maybe another time, we will go and order from the regular menu and it will be better.

Well worth it, it’s one of the classier restaurants in Fallon, so if you wanna take that special someone to dinner… This could be the place. Plus it’s quieter here so you can actually hear what they’re saying.

One of the worst meals ever! We were celebrating a special occasion and wanted a nice steakhouse dinner. Server(Tom) was very attentive, brought drinks while we perused the menu. We both wanted New York steaks which«we’re no longer available because they were now offering them in the coffee shop». OK, management wants to pass up a chance to sell a $ 22 steak because they can get $ 12.95 for them in the coffee shop? We asked if the prime rib was fresh, Tom assured us it was. Dinner arrived, husband’s medium was well, tough and dry. My rare was medium well, also dry. Clearly, NOT fresh and reheated somehow from a previous time. Husband’s $ 4 baked potato was cold inside, even though they’d melted cheese on top somehow. Management comped the food it was so bad, but we left hungry and frustrated.

A nice steakhouse in the middle of a desert. By far the nicest restaurant in Fallon. However, don’t expect too much. The steaks are generally good but when asked for real versus drawn butter it took getting the manager involved. So, don’t expect great service or great food, but for dinner in Fallon, you won’t do better.

Service was good, but my prime rib was over salted and the zucchini was drowned in butter. The prime rib also took some strength to saw through it. For Fallon, it’s a win. My wife’s steak was cooked perfectly.

Steakhouse was closed so I ate at the café in the Stockman. This review is for the café. Turkey dinner was good. Came back for breakfast and the corned beef hash breakfast was also very good. The food was nothing spectacular but a good solid café menu worth coming back to.

Dinner at this restaurant last month was our second visit here. The first was about four years ago. We were not planning to go back based on a two star experience then. But a combination of events led us here again. Our first choice for dinner in Fallon(the delightful Slanted Porch ) was closed on the night we were in town, the hotel where we were staying gave us a 10% off coupon for dinner at Stockman’s and when we asked locals where was a good place to eat with Slanted Porch closed, the only alternative offered was Stockman’s. We went reluctantly, prepared to have another marginal experience. As it turns out, we were pleasantly surprised this time. In the context of Fallon, we give this four stars. We’d go back if we were in town again and if Slanted Porch wasn’t open. GOODTHINGS: 1. SERVICE: The young hostess was very friendly and so was our server. A woman who introduced herself as the restaurant manager was stopping by tables to say hello. All in all, an unvarnished small town vibe that added to the evening. 2. WINE: The wine list is as one would expect here, not particularly broad or containing great wines, but by glass prices were low(@ $ 6). Fun for us to discover through this list that Fallon actually has a winery! Churchill Vineyards which is producing estate grown white varietals and red varietal with grapes brought in from Napa. We each ordered a glass of Churchill’s Petite Sirah. It was pretty darned good! We’d drink it again.(We’d also be interested in stopping by the winery if we’re in Fallon again.) Also Kudos to the restaurant for serving generous pours in Riedel stemware — one full star just for that. 3. MENU&FOOD: Carnivore focused menu but with creative ordering from the starters and salads list, there were options available for a vegetarian leaning eater like me. The wedge salad($ 6) came with great tasting diced tomatoes, red onions, a generous amount of blue cheese and a tasty, tart balsamic dressing and made a fine main course. It was supplemented with half of the whole baked potato that came with my hubby’s piccata style pork tenderloin($ 17). He thought his choice was tasty too. Also, the bread and butter on the table was better than we get at some up end restaurants in our home city and much better than the brown and serve we expected here. Homemade soup that changes frequently is on menu too. 4. VALUE: Dinner for two, including wine and before hotel discount, was only $ 35. Add in the friendly service and relaxing ambiance after a ten hour road trip without a lunch stop, and the value is even better! 5. AMBIANCE: You’ll need to walk through the smoky casino to get to the restaurant but once inside the dining space you’d never know there was a cigarette within 100 miles. Nice, clean air. Comfortable seating at banquettes and tables with white tablecloths. A fireplace against one wall. The music mix on the sound system hearkens back to standards that my parents probably danced to when they were in young ‘uns. It fit the format of the place. COULDBEBETTER things: 1. LIMITEDVEGETARIANOPTIONS: The ingredients are on the menu that would result, with some menu design creativity, in the ability to produce more vegetarian and even vegan offerings. But I imagine the audience isn’t there for that food most of the time as this seems to be beef country with locals. 2. HOURS: Dinner service only. Closed on Sunday and Monday, so if you’re in Fallon on those days, you are really out of luck since Slanted Porch is closed then for dinner too. THIS N THAT: 1) MENULINK: 2) WHAT’S IN A NAME: Also known as Stockman’s Steakhouse in local terms. But the official name is The Steakhouse at Stockman’s(casino). Which is only important if you’re doing a review search . 3) PARKING&ACCESSIBILITY: Paved parking lot in front and another in back. Accessible parking in both lots. Level in to the restaurant and throughout. 4) AFTERDINNERENTERTAINMENT: For something to do after dinner, note the Stockman Casino’s blackjack tables are $ 2 minimum until 8pm. Friendly dealers. Since the Top Gun Naval Air Base is in Fallon and the city also attracts military retirees, it’s almost certain you’ll play cards with young guys from the base or retired vets. As we did this time with a Vietnam Vet, who wore his status proudly on his cap, who we could thank for his service to our country and listen to him say that coming home from that war was even harder than his time in Vietnam. God bless those vets.

I love Fallon. Coming from a crazy, busy city like Las Vegas, i appreciate the calmness and simplicity of this city. But if i want to unwind for a little bit, with the feel of Las Vegas, i go to this place. The food was ok in Stockman’s Café. The steak was average, for the price you paid for. Service was a little slow, and servers are a little unfriendly :( We all decide to play after dinner, and while everybody lost from 100 $-550 $, i won 70 $. Not much, but it’s still more than what i originally came in there with. Oh yess… i am coming back for some more :)

Service was the pits. We waited 18 minutes just to have a server take our drink order. It took another 12 minutes to get the drinks. It then took another 15 minutes to come back and get our food order. I might be a bit more understanding if they were slammed but they weren’t. The food was OK but nothing to write home about. Prices were relatively high as well. My advice? Find somewhere else to eat where the food is just as good but the prices are lower and the service better.
