5 stars = «As good as it gets». This is not 5-stars as compared to all my meals ever, but as for all my meals on Cape Cod, it’s indeed a 5-star restaurant. We were here last night on the last night it’s open til Spring. It was pretty busy. As a party of two we actually were seated right way even though some people waited quite some time for a 4-person table. Upon ordering wine I was annoyed that I was carded(I’m 36!!). I don’t fully blame the waiter, I blame the state and its unwillingness to let people think for themselves about how old people look. But really? Under 21? I am NOT under 21 ordering a glass of wine at a restaurant that’s gonna cost us over $ 100 for 2. That really got to me. Some entrees were unavailable(understandable). We had the grilled shrimp(me) and the lamb pâté(husband) to start. Both flavorful and the right amount. For dinner, I had the duck(perfectly done crispy skin/fat layer) and the husband had the short rib(typical flavors). All four dishes proved to me that the chef has a heavy hand with the salt. I LOVE salt, so I’m ok with that. But be warned if you have any issues with salt. All four dishes were tasty, had nice textures, and had elements of salty and sweet. I enjoyed them all. The BEST, though, was the Chocolate-espresso cake with a dulce de leche sauce. The waiter commented that the plate was still warm when he took it away! We wolfed it down… it was SOGOOD. I’m not a huge dessert person, but the texture, flavor, and assembly of the whole thing was spot on. It was a small cake rather than a piece. I would go back for 2 of these and coffee and that’s it. But we’ll definitely go back for a date-night in the future. It’s not a weekly place unless your budget can swing it. But it’s definitely the best dining we’ve done from Falmouth to Hyannis.

Food was great! Service was good. Went for New Year’s Eve dinner. There was a four course meal. Started with salad with greens, blue cheese, hazelnuts, and apples. Second course was thinly sliced lamb and cured egg yoke. I found I don’t like lamb, but I am sure it was what it should be. Third course was scallops with lentils and cauliflower purée. It was delicious! Only complaint was portion was small. Last was the chocolate trio, which included truffles, mocha mousse, and chocolate pecan pie. The pie was the highlight. The mousse was a little too thick. The truffles were good. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice night out.

The Glass Onion gets five stars for a reason. It’s the best fine dining restaurant in Falmouth. The entire operation is first class and it has been that way since day 1.

What a spectacular place. Food was great. Seared Duck! Server was ok but he loosened up as the evening went on. Great place, awesome date place!

I love it here! Food is always great. Only reason for deducting a star is their no reservation policy. I love their filet and every app I’ve ever had has been delicious. Their duck is amazing as well! Their homemade ice cream is out of this world! Definitely go, but get there early.

Sophisticated food, classy(but not stuffy) place. We have come here in August the past three years. It’s always the culinary highlight of the week’s vacation. Service is excellent. The no-reservation policy is made less horrible by the excellent cocktails on the sun porch. Food is seasonal and menu changes. Great place for nice dinner.

Nice place, slow food. Locally sourced. The lobster egg roll appetizer was awesome, as was the flat iron steak with lobster bacon hash. The salad and swordfish with lentils was just okay. They don’t have high chairs but set us up in a corner booth, which worked okay for our toddler.

A classy restaurant run by classy people… amazing food and exceptional staff. I love duck and have had it twice(prepared two different ways) and was NOT disappointed, done perfectly both times. We’ve also ordered the butter poached lobster and loved it. The homemade ice cream is amazing! Great wine selection and they make a great dirty martini. All in all a terrific spot for a romantic dinner. Keep up the great work!

Maybe the finest meal we’ve had in a restaurant. Appetizer was a lobster strudel that was perfectly balanced with cheese and seasonings. I had the special striped bass – perfectly cooked and an amazing medley of flavors in the accompanying farrow. Superb drinks. Outstanding wine. My wife’s beef was prime melt in your mouth. The flavors in our meals were so complex and bold that we felt this was truly one of the very best restaurants we have ever visited – and we turn 60 this summer!

This restaurant is just what we were looking for! My husband and I are foodies and live in Providence so have high expectations and the glass onion met and exceeded them! We had a wait when we first got in, so they took our drink orders and kindly delivered them to our waiting area. When it came time to be seated, the host took my drink for me and placed it at our table. It was these little details that really set this place apart. I highly recommend a visit!

This is the second time we went for dinner at the glass onion, and both times have been some of the most wonderful and memorable dining experiences we’ve had. The atmosphere really enhances the food and makes the whole night an experience rather than just eating out. Everything we got was amazing, I particularly loved the lobster risotto and the crème brûlée! It’s almost worth the trip to the cape just for this restaurant!

Enroute from LI to MV, I did my search for«the place» to dine in Falmouth. Do I know how to pick ‘em –u bet! Coming in from«off road», with a no reservation policy, looking at an hour wait, we welcomed a bottle of wine in the cozy waiting area, then enjoyed gracious service, a braised pork shoulder as tender and rich in taste as could be, and the local cod, prepared perfectly. A winner, hands down!

Easily my favorite spot on Cape. The service is stellar year-over-year, and the food is always exceptional. They have a small beer menu, just look on the back of the menu. Last visit, I got the duck confit, the grilled lamb, and the chocolate torte — all were exceptional.

Really nice restaurant — enjoyed dinner here. First and foremost, the staff was extremely nice and made sure we were taken care of well. The atmosphere here is very pleasant — we had a cute window seat. It is white tablecloth dining but doesn’t have a formal or strict dress code. Saw guys in shorts but I’d dress a little nice if you can — just don’t need a black tie or anything. The food was very good but didn’t stand out to me as one of the best meals ever or anything. I had the lobster strudel appetizer(very good) as well as the duck confit(pretty good). As a main, I ordered the lobster, shrimp and mussels. It came with a delicious spinach risotto that I really liked. The lobster was decent but not great. Shrimp and mussels were just OK too, they didn’t really stand out. The warm table bread was very good. As far as drinks go, tried a watermelon mojito — not bad but tasted a little watered down. Skipped dessert, 2 appetizers and a main filled me up! They don’t take reservations but we(a party of 2) arrived a little later than 5pm(opening time) and were seated right away. When we left, it was already packed and people were waiting. Parking — there’s a lot in the back of the plaza as well as an additional lot across the street. I recommend this restaurant — it is a pleasant experience with good food.

This meal was simply devine. The wine choices were great and the appetizer list made it difficult to choose. We went with the lobster strudel and lobster chowder. They were both perfect. The dinner of lobster risotto and flounder en croute was perfectly cooked. The service was attentive throughout.

Stayed in Wood’s Hole for the weekend and found this restaurant. As far as I can tell it’s the best place for a romantic meal in the area and I was not let down. Our waiter Peter was well-informed and seemed to be someone who has worked here a while and was extremely enthusiastic about the menu. We had the lobster strudel(rich, creamy, and tons of lobster, the Short Ribs were amazing(and while it may seem simple, their whipped potatoes were to die for), and there was an amazing Tuna Special(cooked rare and melt-in-your-mouth texture). No reservations accepted but not a problem during our January visit.
