We are so glad that we tried this place! The food was great. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back. The best refried beans I have had in a long time.

The food is still amazing here, but the service was bad enough that we nearly walked out after waiting almost 15 minutes before our server came over to our table. She was rather rude as well, almost as if getting us margaritas were the end of the world for her. At least the cooks in the kitchen had our food ready in about ten minutes!

On the three big tests for a good Mexican place they passed one: chips and salsa were excellent. It was lunch, so we didn’t order Margaritas, can’t tell you about that. And we didn’t order anything with green sauce. But the food was good, the service was fast, and I’d go back for sure. Pretty inexpensive too.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. Don’t let the exterior scare you. As good as anything in Albuquerque.

If you’re in Fargo and craving good Mexican food, you need to eat here! Best in town by far. The dishes are authentic & generously-portioned, and we’ve always had adequate & speedy service. I can be a little picky with salsa, and I love the chips and salsa at Mango’s! It’s fresh-tasting and mild enough for my zero heat tolerance(but perfectly satisfactory to those who do like spicy foods!).

Visiting and a friend said that this is the real deal. I live in AZ so wasn’t expecting to be too impress but they put on a good show. Did the molajete. I had never even heard of it. For sure rough for two… without ordering the«2 person» size. Good kids menu. Homemade food here! I’ve done Mexican Village. It has sentimental value but this is what I would suggest. No curb appeal at all, but the food is why you come to this place

Ate there tonight with my husband. First time we’ve gone there. I gave it 3 stars not because of the food but because of the service. The food was great and the portions are pretty big. The thing was our server took our order then came back 10 minutes later with my plate(or so I thought) and asked if that was my order and then she put the plate down in front of me and said«just wait ok. Im going to see if that’s yours»…ummmm ok. She then came back with my husbands plate and said«ok it’s yours» I would’ve felt bad if it was someone else and I had their plate sitting in front of me. I kind of had a cold so the thought of that happening to my food grossed me out. Then we didn’t get any refills we waited for about 15 minutes for our check. I really wanted to give it 5 stars because the food was really good. We’ll go back and try it again but hopefully our service will match the awesomeness of the food!!! I had ordered the El Mexicano, it was great!!!

Mi novio y yo comimos El Pollo de Crema. The chicken & vegetables were great, but the refried beans and the rice tasted old & icky — this makes me sad, since usually their food tastes much better! I still recommend this place to others.

First time dining and it was awesome. The service was very good and the food even better. There were 7 of us in the group and they had no problem accommodating us. The endless chips and salsa was tasty. We also had the shrimp cocktail which had great flavor. We all ordered something different and it was all great. Big portions, excellent flavor, affordable prices.

I consider myself pretty well versed in food. I know what is good and what is not. Paradiso = crap. Ground Round, AppleBees, Pizza Hut, disgusting. Why on earth would you go to these places when there are fantastic joints where they actually cook instead of pulling something out of the freezer and straight into the fryer. Mango’s is by far the best Mexican place in FM! Hands down no question. Acapulco is very good also but this place amazing. Their portion sizes are insanely huge. If you walk out of here hungry it’s your own fault. The Molcajete for Two was divine and could feed 4. Dont let the outside dissuade from going. You wont be disappointed.

My family stayed the night in Fargo before my flight. For starts, the service was great! Our waiter was friendly and patient in answering all our questions(how big are the margaritas? How big is the bean dip? etc…) The family ordered the queso as we can’t usually get this west of the Missouri. LOVED it! We also ordered the bean dip which was good, but could use some spices to season it. The Chilli Relleno combination with rice and beans was great as was the cheese enchiladas(no clumpy gross cheese as it cooled down). I had the mango quesadilla which was perfect and flavorful. The guacamole that came on the side was fresh and also perfect. I could eat quac, queso, and bean dip every day meal and be in heaven. The price can’t be beat for the quality or quantity of food. If I am ever in Fargo again, I will be back!

Absolutely, positively, THEBEST Mexican food you can get in FM. The staff is very friendly. The server who helped us the first time remembered us the next time, down to what we ordered. All of the dishes we have tried have been excellent. In addition to having great flavors, it’s obvious they are preparing each dish fresh, without pre-made sauces or other components. The queso blanco was also excellent. Price wise, it is on target with, to slightly less than what you will pay at some of the«chain» Mexican places in town. It is attached to the same building as a gas station — do not let this fool you — it is a great place with the best Mexican food you’re going to have until you get to the Twin Cities.

I don’t care what time off day I come to Mangos I also have most exceptional service and food. Today we order the guacamole dip it is a mouthful of heaven it’s creamy texture and spices meld into your mouth. The chips are crispy. We also order jalapeños stuffed poppers the cheese was tangy and delicious not your normal Philadelphia cream cheese which made it all the more special and a surprise when I took a bite the coating on the outside was crispy the peper moist and the cheese creamy and delicious. The kids burrito was as big as the adult meal and the bites that were shared with me were very good. You should come and check it out and see what favorite food is your.

This place has Mexican food the way I like it. I like refried beans to be very light, guacamole not to thick and very fresh. The plates won’t burn your hands like some places do. The service is right on top of everything. The meals are large and nicely priced. For example $ 10 will get you a nice big plate. They have all the Mexican beers and today they had Pacifico for only $ 2.50 which was very nice. This is one of those places where you should order guacamole without question. I also really appreciate polite service that is not annoying. I can’t stand hearing that phrase«how are the first couple bites?» The service here is very polite and totally confidant that the food is good. They project the attitude that the food is good and they know it’s good. I also like that the manager comes around and says«how are you amigos?» The server asks«how are you today?» Service like this is becoming annoyingly rare these days. This is a place to come for good food and outstanding service.

Warning: I am from California, so my expectations of a Mexican restaurant are pretty high. I have been in Fargo for about 2 years now. One thing I dearly miss from California is the Mexican food. For the most part, the Mexican restaurants in Fargo are pretty bad, so I am always cautious when I try a new restaurant here. But, I keep my hopes up that I will find a good place. As far as Mexican restaurants in Fargo go, I would say Mango’s is at the top. I came here with a friend a little while back. Like many in Fargo, he doesn’t really care too much for Mexican food, so he kept his order simple and went for the tacos. I ordered a pretty simple two taco and cheese enchilada combo, and we started off with a large side of guacamole to go with the chips. The guacamole, while slightly turning brown, had a good taste. You could actually see pieces of onion and tomato in it, unlike the lazy pre-packaged avocado paste that other restaurants here serve as guacamole. The chips and salsa were also pretty tasty. Better than many other restaurants in the area. Our meals came out quickly. We each got the picadillo beef tacos, and I had a ground beef taco and a cheese enchilada included in my combo. I should probably explain that picadillo beef is a seasoned and slow-cooked shredded beef. The texture will take some getting used to if you are accustomed to ground beef tacos, but the change is very worth it. The picadillo was pretty good. The meat was seasoned, and not just stewed. The big problem is that it suffered from the same problem all of the Mexican restaurants suffer from here — mass-produced hard taco shells. This taco would be so much better if they would use some home made tortillas or at least freshly made taco shells. It would probably end up being cheaper for them, too. The ground beef taco was pretty average. I would actually choose the ground beef from the Taco Shop over any sit-down Mexican restaurant so far(but they too suffer from the mass-produced taco shell problem). The cheese enchilada was also average. They would benefit from some fresh-made enchilada sauce and some onion — though I understand the onion might be off-putting to some here. The beans and rice that came with my meal were also average. I understand a lot of people have a problem with good refried beans, because they are made with lard and/or bacon grease but, man, is there a difference. I wish some places around here would make the good beans. For a healthier alternative, restaurants could offer frijoles de la olla or black beans to those that want them. I talked with a server at another Mexican restaurant one day and he explained that it is very expensive for them to get good, fresh ingredients up here in Fargo. The nationwide supplier jacks the prices up on them. So I do understand the limitations they are under. But there are still ways you can grow/use fresh herbs and spices, and that would make a tremendous difference in the taste of the food. The price was very reasonable. Actually lower than a like meal at someplace like Mexican Village. Overall, not a bad experience. I would come back again.
