Food was fair, but service was very slow on a Thursday evening at 7:30. Waitress wasn’t very attentive.

Love Paradiso! They are usually very busy when I go, but the service is always fast and friendly.

We enjoy there food and chips and salsa but every time we order take out they mess up our order. We even glanced at our order and the top was right but when we got home all the orders underneath were wrong. I can understand with new employees or when it’s busy but wen its slow it shouldn’t happen. Then when we call in to just inform them they deny it like we were lying to them and they wanted me to bring my order back for them to correct it. A simple apology usually helps.

This place has a great, authentic Mexican atmosphere with a friendly staff. Not to mention that they serve great food and large portions as well. They also have spectacular deals such as their 4 – 6 taco bar special. I try to go at least once a week between 4pm and 6pm. During this time, if you purchase a drink at the bar, you get free access to the taco/nacho bar. It’s an all you can eat fiesta amigos, I highly recommend it.

I had went to the Fargo Paradiso with my husband & toddler on Sunday at 1:00& our experience had been a complete nightmare due to the«manager» that was on shift. We arrive to a flood of people in the waiting area, & are quoted a 15 minute wait. We decide to wait, & discover that there are a large number of both vacant & un-bussed tables.(By a large number, I mean HALF of the entire restaurant). During this time there are also 3 employees at the hostess area, just standing around doing nothing. Having worked in restaurants myself, I am well aware that hostesses are capable of assisting with bussing tables, especially when there are 3 of them. After 25 minutes of waiting, our toddler becomes very restless & we have no choice but to go somewhere else. As we hand our pager to the hostess, I had expressed my frustration by stating that«there is no reason there should be over a 25 minute wait for 3 people with as many vacant tables as you have, you really need to hire more people.» The hostesses response at that point, was not to sympathize, nor apologize as any person with basic customer service skills should, she responded with a very rude tone: «Not my fault everyone leaves at the same time.» I then tell the hostess I am not happy with the way this situation was handled & that I would like to speak to a manager. She responds with a condescending tone: «Sweetie, I AM the manager» & refuses to give me information on who else I can talk to about my poor experience. This encounter then turns into a YELLING match, with the manager not once apologizing, but YELLING at me repetitively that«none of this is her fault» when I asked her why she was yelling at me, she had told me that I «had came into her restaurant and assaulted her and she had every reason to yell». WHAT!!! I was incredibly angry, yes. But I in NOWAY laid a finger on her & had that been the case, the police should have been called immediately. I asked her«when did I ever touch you? Do you even know what the word assault means» she slams her hands down on the hostess table and says«What? Are you stupid?» I told her I would be reporting this experience to the better business bureau as I was leaving & her response was«do it, I don’t care.» I leave the restaurant shaking with anger & in tears. Never in my life had I been treated so horribly. With the way the manager had acted, I can never get myself to step foot inside Paradiso again for I fear it would result in this manager attacking me. This entire situation could have easily been avoided, had the manager been capable of sympathizing with the fact that we had a crying toddler & had waited almost double our quoted time. All she had to do to turn this experience around was respond with«I’m sorry, we’ve been really busy. If you’d like to stick around it should only be __more minutes.»

Service was wonderful and the food was great. Seated within 15 minutes at 12:00 on a Sunday and server was great filling drinks, very on top of everything for a table of 7. Kids eat free on Sunday, plus chips are free dinner extra!

I live in Texas. This is northern Mexican food. The salsa is very mild but delicious. Lots of onion and other«floaters» in there. Their menu is huge! Lots of vegetarian options. Beans were delicious. I got the chili relleno and cheese enchilada and a tostada. All delicious and serving size was huge. The waitress brought extra salsa I asked for. Excellent! I asked which was better the flan or fried ice cream. She said hands down the fried ice cream. No idea if she is right. The fried ice cream was excellent. I have no idea of the flan. This is very good Mexican. Parking is tight and they were lacked on a Wednesday night about 7:30. No reservation was required and I did not have to wait. Huge restaurant.

My baby brother had a lovely birthday dinner here. I couldn’t attend, but all of the staff made sure to make it special and to let me know he loved it! Thank you so much!

My business associates and I always look forward to coming to Paradiso Mexican Restaurant when we travel to Fargo from the Twin Cities. I crave the Seafood Burrito Grande with the cheese sauce. Chips with their special Queso is always a favorite with the group, too. We travel out here 4 times a year and Paradiso is always on our list of favorite places to eat. I highly recommend it to everyone!

On the plus side, this place looks spectacular on the inside. Outside is ok, but on the inside, clearly a chunk has been spent on stained glass windows, an atrium section, sculpture, even a fountain. They also have a very high-powered air conditioner that they love so much, they run it well past the point of excess, appropriate temperatures outside or not. That’s where the positives end and as soon as you pick up the menu, the more astute will recognize you’re immediately in trouble. In case you’re not among that group, here you can experience such authentic goodies as «crab with a k» for the entirety of their seafood offerings, ground beef, processed cheese nonsense and chips fresh from whatever bag is cheapest at the grocery store or Costco or whatever. I had their«famous» chimi, which was dinky compared to the picture and it was bland milquetoast of an Americanized«Mexican» mess as I’ve ever had, down to the beans and«Spanish» rice. A place like this would have a tremendously difficult time surviving in a town of a larger size or with a more established culinary tradition or higher and more discerning standard. The best I can say about it is that for years, I had meant to get to this place, decades, even, all to have some fried ice cream and sopapillas and after having been there, I not only still have never had those things, but will probably never go to another of these again. This place is very popular, though and further demonstrates that Fargo has a long, long way to go to be a respectable food town.

Good ambiance and a good crowd on a Thursday evening. Ordered the Carne Asada, which is one of their signature dishes. Disappointed. No love from the person making this. The steak was thrown on top of the enchiladas. Tasted okay. Texture of the steak was questionable. Overall a good experience; just expected more form the food.

Chain Mexican food in the Midwest, so you know what to expect. It’s kind of bland and not at all authentic, but still manages to be better than Mexican Village by a lot. The Free Birthday meal and the various large sections make it a good place to hold a birthday party. Also, they have vegan meat substitutes, which I wouldn’t expect from Paradiso, but I definitely appreciate it.

I thought the food was pretty good and our sever was real attentive. I don’t know why any Unilocalers would give this place anything less than 3 stars. The margaritas were fantastic.

Being from Texas, this is average as Americanized Mexican gets. Had better and had worse. Give it three stars for serving size, taste, and price Service a might bit slow.

I like to bring my 5 year old daughter here and sit by the fountain while she tosses in pennies and makes wishes. She loves coming here to have a «fiesta» as she calls it. The food is pretty decent and the guacamole is pretty good, but the guacamole comes with a bunch of avocado slices and that’s what I love about it.

I hadn’t been in years, and hopefully don’t have to go ever again. I was craving ginger ale and instead of going to find some, my husband called the restaurant to ask if they had it instead of going out to buy some elsewhere(we knew we were going there for a relative’s birthday). Whoever answered the phone said they had it. When I ordered it as one of my drinks(ginger ale and a water), he said«I don’t know if we have ginger ale.» My husband said«You do — I called earlier.» The waiter dismissed him and took the others’ drink orders. Then the waiter turned to me and said, «So did you want anything else with that water.» My family was like, «Yeah, she wanted a ginger ale, right?» and he walked away. It was so rude. Even if they didn’t have ginger ale, he didn’t appear to know that, and his behavior was uncalled for even if he knew they did not. The service did not improve from there — our queso blanco arrived long after the chips and salsa were gone. We sat at the table for a long time with empty chips and drinks. our food was bleh. We had to wait a long time for our table. I just don’t know why people go. I’d much rather pay for my birthday meal at an enjoyable restaurant.

Chicken flautas, margaritas, free chips and salsa. These are all the good things about Paradiso. Other than that, nothing special. The only reason I would go to Paradiso is for a friend’s birthday(free birthday meal). I love the flautas and the jalepeno jelly that comes with it. However, every time I’ve ordered something else, I’ve been disappointed. It is good place for a group, though.

I’ve had better Mexican food pretty much everywhere I’ve ever been, not just while living in California but even in Wisconsin, Tennessee and Iowa. We came here because it was my husbands favorite place in college but even he said that nostalgia doesn’t make up for sub-par food and horrible service. I mean the thing is, just because you’re in Fargo doesn’t mean you have to feed into the myth that mid-westerners like bland food covered in cheese… how about some cheese free options with some fire in them?

It’s a cattle barn. Enormous inside and built that way for a reason — deliver dozens of dishes all made out of the same 4 or 5 ingredients. Had the three taco dinner 1 soft, 2 hard. Very little cheese on top and no tomatoes with the tacos? Just lettuce and a little bit of cheese. Served with a scoop of dried out rice and bland bean paste(refried beans?) Kind of a chucky cheeses restaurant model or a worn out old Chi Chis.
