I was a fan of this place until my last 2 visits. I always thought the pizza was average, at best, but convenient and quick. The last time I went, I asked for 2 pieces of veggie pizza with no cheese, like I usually do. He said he wouldn’t do it because the pizza is partially cooked with the cheese. I said, so can I order a whole pizza without cheese? The guy told me no. I insisted that I would be willing to wait and it was no big deal, but he stood his ground. He offered a new Flatbread item, instead. I asked if it would have sauce and no cheese. He said yes. For $ 10, I expected something closer to flatbread, than a cracker, but I was wrong. A big, plan saltine cracker. And no sauce. I had to ask for sauce to be drizzle over the tipping that were otherwise just rolling around. So, considering the food was never great, the bad service as of late has me doubting that I’ll be back.

I am from Denver and travel to ND frequently. Spicy Pie is always on my agenda. Very good, very hip, at the right price. I Love the fact you can order single slices. After all variety is the Spice of life!

I like the downtown Spicy Pie, wasn’t always that however. Was there when they first opened and it was not good, the main reason being the crust. They did what they needed to do; Fixed it. Thin and crispy, can’t ask for anymore(maybe decent deep dish but that’s another daily thought). I still wish the pizza sauce had some flavor, any flavor, and I do agree the toppings can be a bit skimpy, but I like a slice & a glass of Blue Moon on a Sunday afternoon. And it’s a hit with my brother when he visits from Phoenix.

Average pizza. Being the only place that you can get pizza by the slice and near the downtown bars, it’s definitely overrated. The value is pretty good per slice, but the toppings are nothing special. Pizza is pretty greasy too.

A great place for either a quick slice of pizza or an entire pie! They serve a New York style of pizza and it is quite tasty! Great ingredients make their slices really good — warm chewy crust, pleasantly spicy sauce, tangy cheese, and full flavored meats! Don’t pass up the taco pizza, it’s one of the best around! The bread bites are an appetizer not to be missed. Basically it’s fried dough with Italian seasonings. Yum! I had a grinder sandwich for the first time today and it was pretty good. I could’ve done with more fillings, as the bread was really good but thick enough that it over powered the rest of the sandwich. Overall a wonderful place to either dine in, carry out, or deliver!

I’ve heard their food is good and tried to order delivery twice — after a lengthy wait, was called both times because of some issue, telling me my food would take another 60 – 90 minutes. No apology. To add insult to injury, getting the bank card refund became a part-time job. No thanks, never again.

I tired this off recommended by my hotel. I must say I wasn’t impressed its a normal pie seems like they don’t use high quality cheese or make there own sauce. Another struggle for me to find great pie in fargo.

RIPOFFALERT! NEWPRICEINCREASE. If you read my review from three months ago, I noted that menu price then for a plain cheese slice was 2.59 and additional toppings were 45 cents each which at the time were significant increases as just about a year ago you could get a one topping slice for about 2.59. I’m here right now, Sept 20, 2014 and I was surprised to see in just three months since my last visit, the menu price of a plain cheese slice is a full $ 3, individual toppings according to the girl who took my order are now 50 cents. With tax that’s $ 3.77 a slice. That’s a surprisingly big price hike to happen between June/July and now. I ordered one pepperoni and one sausage slice, water, no pop. Tab came to 7.53. For two slices of pizza and no beverage. 7.53. The owners of this place are greedily and blatantly ripping their customers off, this will be my last visit for a very long time. Also, they no longer have half price slices during weekdays(it’s now buy one slice *then* get another slice half off but only after 9pm) and don’t do the punch cards anymore which have been replaced by a lame point-based scan card system. Weak. Save your money for other pizza places like Duane’s which has their excellent one topping large-for-small charge on Mon-Wed dine in or carry out or Pizza Patrol which also has a very reasonable large one topping price/deal.

I’m a big fan of this place. You can get individual slices of pizza at $ 2 – 3 each and it always tastes great(both sober and drunk versions of me can attest to this), the staff is very friendly, and it’s an easy and convenient way to get a quick bite to eat when you’re hanging out downtown during the daytime or going out to the bars with your friends. I highly recommend getting cream cheese as an extra topping if you’re looking to add some delicious creamy fattiness to your meal. Only thing that has bummed me out in the past is that it closes at 1:30 am, and so if you’re in the mood for some late night munchies after a night of drinking, you’ll need to leave the bars early. However, make the right decision folks… happily chomping down on some Spicy Pie easily trumps dancing at the OB.

Descent pizza in a pinch. Came in late and was craving a slice. Walked over to this place and enjoyed the atmosphere(kinda trendy and hipster). Pizza was a bit pricey when they charge .45¢ for every topping. Asked for extra sauce, got charged for it but pizza was dry as a bone. Will give it another go next time I am here.

Sticking with 4 stars — lunch today was awesome. The pizza was well prepared, and flavorful, but the previous two visits have been lackluster enough to make my desire to visit few and far between. After today, I’ll consider visiting again sooner. Of note — the ‘spicy’ isn’t really. I moved up to it finding the original to be quite bland. Of course there was so little sauce that it is hard to tell… Overall, not bad, but I’d like to see more consistency.

Prices went up to $ 2.59 a slice. I had a slice of cheese with the spicy crust and a slice of anchovy on the regular crust. I did not think the crust was very spicy but it did add a good flavor to the slice. While most of the slices with toppings were loaded with topping my slice of anchovy barely had a single anchovy cut up on top. This is a great place to check out. It is nice to sit at the bar top by the front window and look out.

First up: this is in review of their whole pies. As far as the in store eating pies go, they can be AMAZING. However, it all depends on which store you go to and who is working. My East Coast husband loves to get it with extra sauce and extra cheese because otherwise it is a bit lacking, but with that, IF done right this is the BEST pie in Fargo. It is just too variable to give it more than a 3 star. When you get a good pie from here it is so very good, so very, very good. Now on to delivery. It sucks. Every time we order, it turns into a complete FUBAR. We have had times change from one hour delivery to two hour delivery, seriously: «Call back to confirm.» One time we were told that there was a car accident and their driver was no longer available. They also wanted to take away the delivery special because the delivery driver was no longer available and we would have to pick it up. This would be the ultimate Fargo pie if there were any consistency. Too many variable mess it up. If they clean up the inconsistency, this place would be hands above all. Just an update: The night we had our delivery time changed from one hour to two hours, we ‘called back to confirm’ and ended up canceling the order due to the time it would take for delivery. Guess what? They showed up at the door with the pizza about 45 minutes later. Plus, the pizza looked like it had slid off the seat of the car and was picked up and still delivered in that shape. Really???

We usually stop here once-a-week after being out on the town. They sell pizza by the slice any way you want them so it’s always nice to be able to stop here unlike other places where you have to order a whole pizza. There’s also tacos, nachos, and a variety of other menu items available at night and I believe they are open until 1:30am. Usually fun to sit and people watch in here around bar close as it can get quite entertaining.

Pizza is decent but the service has been hit-or-miss. I do like the huge slices, and I appreciate the fact that you can get anchovies on your pizza.(yes, I like them, I’m crazy that way). The first time I ate there the service was so bad it was memorable– I waited 45 minutes for a slice of basic pepperoni pizza. The worst part was that everyone else at my table had their food right away and they were all done eating before I even had mine, when it did arrive I had to bolt down my pizza while everyone else impatiently watched me. I swore I’d never go back but decided to give it one last chance, a few months later, and the service had improved a lot. I’ve eaten there a few times now and usually the service is good, I think a lot of it just depends on who is working.

Just because your prices are decent doesn’t mean your service can suck. Don’t get me wrong, I have always had pretty awesome experiences at the campus location. Why can’t the downtown location rock? I’ve been in here during the lunch hour(yay for being sober!!) and late night hours(don’t expect me to show up sober at 1 or 2 am). If I went in while intoxicated, I could understand not getting the best service since I have been known to turn into a neanderthal and basically mumble my order. However, I’ve waited for 30 minutes for a freaking slice of pizza on more than one occasion during the lunch hour and still managed to have the wrong food brought to me. My birthday weekend was one of my worst experiences here. I was surprisingly pretty sober, but we still wanted pizza. After waiting over an hour with our table tent, I knew something was wrong. When I went up to the cashier to voice my concerns, I was told«we’ll get to you when we get to you». Ok. Whatever. I just sulked back to my table with my tail between my legs. Another 30 minutes went by, and my natives were getting restless. With a little more liquid courage, I marched back up to ask about our order again. Thankfully, I managed to get a guy more interested in flirting than providing customer service. After discovering our order didn’t exist and we were waiting there for nothing, he comped our order(yay refund!!) and gave us four times the amount of food and beer we originally ordered. Sadly, that still doesn’t wipe out the snotty girl who told me she’d get to me when she could. She never did come back for us! The prices are ok and all, but go to the campus one unless you’re already downtown and it’s off peak hours.

Either by myself, or with family or friends, I’ve eaten at the downtown Fargo location many times. By myself, I often like to take advantage of the weekday 2−4pm special with the $ 2 slices. With family, the kids love going here and getting a pizza and chips & salsa(which are a good value). This is a low maintenance kind of place(order at the counter from folksy college-aged workers, eat off paper plates & paper towels) with a thin crust pizza, so don’t expect more than that. However, this is what adds to the charm and appeal. The pizzas are thin but are deceiving filling as the slices are huge. I just recently tried a grinder, which are also good. It is a great value for our family which is a bonus.
