Meatloaf with a distinctly North Dakota twist(bison and bacon). Very flavorful and well presented.

Had a great evening and meal tonight! Olivia was our waitress, and she did a great job at explaining the ingredients, the origin, and helping us through the options. Loved the décor, i’d call it vintage glam. Mixed crowd — couples of young and old alike, groups of young people. Not too loud, can still have a conversation without screaming. Both I am and my husband had the lamb T-bone — delicious overall, the T-bone was. edium rare, as we had asked, tender and flavorful. It came with an in house made lamb sausage, very tasty as well. Everything was served on this amazing polenta and the flavors and textures were perfect together. Presentation was beautiful too. We shared a bruschetta plate — simple but delicious, and their spin on a gin and tonic cocktail — exactly what I wanted, refreshing and not sweet! For dessert, I wanted something light and chose the panna cota — a sure hit! Hubby had the strawberry rhubarb mini pie with lemon icecream — he only wished it were just a bite larger, since it was so good. Recommend highly for a special occasion.

This place is pretty amazing, they were very considerate to myself having a food allergy and ended up giving me a free dessert as they made sure the sauce on my bison meatloaf was citrus free. If they have the bread pudding for dessert, def get it because it’s the best ever as my eyes rolled back in my head it was THAT good(that in itself is worth the 5 star rating). better than their crème brûlée or chocolate cake. even our waiter agreed. We all enjoyed our entrées, and if you can’t get enough of this place they also have another restaurant, I believe it’s called Rustica, which may be worth checking out.

Just had dinner there last night for my wife’s birthday. What a treat! Everything from the bread plate to the appetizer(scallops) to the dinner(lamb plate and duck plate) and the choc cake dessert was AMAZING! The wine was also quite nice as was the atmosphere, the décor, the layout of the restaurant. Special kudos to server Meagan, she was fantastic! The restaurant lends itself to dress from casual to dressy, noise lever was acceptable and the atmosphere can be casual to romantic. Definitely not stuffy. A memorable night.

A small group of us went to Mezza to celebrate my birthday. We had a reservation for when late night happy hour started. The grilled cheese and burger are personal favorites on our household. As always, the good was delicious, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was fun. The happy hour drink menu is especially good right now! Phil made our time enjoyable and entertaining!!! I recommend Mezzaluna to anyone new to town and will continue to do so.

I went here one evening for drinks at the recommendation of a friend. The French 75 was incredible, as well as the local beer they served. The atmosphere felt rather classy, and it was a wonderful date atmosphere. The only food I ordered was an appetizer, but they were some of the better meat-balls I’ve had. Very fancily prepared.

There’s not much new left to say about this nationally renowned restaurant of the FM area. The food is incredible, their bartenders are fantastic, and there is a real sense of community there. The big standouts from me are… 1. Happy Hour. Stop by for a great price on a beer and their great lounge menu. 2. Wine Service. They employ one of the only sommeliers in Fargo, and take their wine business seriously. 3. Vegetarian/vegan entrees. They will make something to fit your diet, and it’s always amazing. TL;DR: If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out

One of my favorite places in all of Fargo. Stellar cocktails and one of the best happy hours around – especially the late night happy hour. You can’t go wrong with a place that has Grey Goose on tap! ON tap! I never miss the opportunity to order the crab cakes or meatballs off the app menu! The bison meatloaf is one of my favorite entrées.

Fargo still has a long way to go before it officially breaks into the creative and upscale dining club. Mezzaluna’s atmosphere is glamorous, but crowded. If you are searching for a place to eat or drink that will offer you and your company some privacy, this isn’t the restaurant. The menu is varied, but never seems to change. The ingredients are locally sourced, but not original or exciting. If you’re looking for basics — steaks with potato, roasted chicken with vegetables or salmon over risotto, than you’re in luck. As for the alcohol, the wine menu is pretty standard. Grey Goose is on tap which is kind of a backwoods classy touch. If you are willing to spend 18+ dollars on an entrée that won’t wow you, than book a reservation.

I honestly could not say enough positive things about Mezzaluna. If Mezzaluna allowed you to give 1 restaurant 6 stars, this would be my six. Let’s start with the location. A hidden gem on the lower level of an apartment complex in the heart of Downtown Fargo with it’s entryway coming in from the alley. It screams Fargo in the most delightful way. The interior is absolutely exquisite. As you enter, the beautiful hardwood floors guide you through a cavernous hallway with a nostalgic staircase and tall wooden pillars. Then, you enter the restaurant itself. A large coat closet to your left, host stand on your right, and the bar ahead. Further left are stairs leading to a mezzanine with large windows overlooking the bar, which you can reserve for events but is open for regular dining otherwise. On the other side of the bar you have a beautiful hightop table area(roughly eight, 4-seat rounds) which is great for meeting coworkers for after work Happy Hour(which I will comment on later as it deserves its own section). On the other side of the restaurant is a large dining area surrounded by beautiful shell booths and beautiful ambiance. People don’t flock to Mezzaluna in –20 weather for the building though. We do it for the customer service, which is simply unmatched to say the least. From the moment you are greeted by a gentleman with a larger than life smile, snappy bow tie, and matching pocket square, to the moment you leave and he hands you an addictive chocolate mint and sends you off into the Fargo cold with a warm farewell; you will be delighted by their out of this world service. The team works seamlessly from the door, to the bar, to the kitchen, and the everything in between. They have teamwork and customer service down to a science. The bar is a beautiful horseshoe bar with an unexpected chilled grey goose tap. Truly a beautiful sight, and I don’t even drink vodka. The people behind the bar are what make the magic though. Amazingly talented mixologists that can make you some of the best cocktails you never knew existed. Not the cheapest drinks you’ll ever have, but I have never used the phrase ‘Return on Investment’ until I had a cocktail at Mezzaluna. Now let’s get to the food. I struggle every time I sit down and begin to slowly look through their menu. Each and every item sounds better than the last and soon you begin to devour the menu like a good book. Once you have made a decision, you are never disappointed. The food arrives from a train of servers coming from the back to ensure everyone’s food is nice and hot and served at the same time. The plate itself once it lay in front of you will require a moment of silence. Each plate is given the exact attention that it deserves. Above all things, you must know of Mezzaluna’s Happy Hour. Each and everyday that they are open, they have Happy Hour from 4:00 — 6:00 and 9:00 — 11:00. $ 3.00 select craft beer, a great food selection, and plenty of delicious cocktails with a daily ‘Mixologist Special’. Suddenly, the life of the rich and famous just became more affordable. Long story short, if you have not been to Mezzaluna in Downtown Fargo… You need to. Also, don’t forget to visit their sister restaurant across the river in Moorhead, Rustica!

I would have given Mezzaluna 5 stars hands down… but I can’t. You’re probably wondering, «Why, Kris? Why not 5 stars?» I’ll get to that in a minute, but let me talk about all the great stuff first. The wine selection was very, very good! The cheese plate was… OMG!!! OMG. It was beautiful. Stunning, really. I almost wept when I tried it. Delicious and fresh and… and… I’ve run out of words. It’s one of the best cheese plates I’ve had. Ever. I chose the filet(medium rare), which was cooked to perfection. The crisp buttermilk onions, horseradish butter, and parmesan mash were delightful accompaniments. I’m not big on sweets, but ordered the lemon panna cotta. Dear god, that was good. So, why 4 stars? I was sitting there, looking around and commenting on the ambiance when… [RECORDNEEDLESCRATCH] I saw the TV on the wall. Yup. A TV. So out of place and disappointing.

I seriously love this place. I don’t even know where to start. We rotate between Rustica and here and have never had a disappointing meal. Lots of great apps to share and the soup of the day is always amazing. As for entrees I like to go with the fish special, salmon or the butternut squash lasagna. Dessert is great because they have petite options and a large size if you want to share with someone. Mezzaluna makes a great date, celebration or a just don’t want to cook dinner night. Great service and a great place!

Wonderful place for fancy drinks and yummy food! Great date night spot! I had the cheese and fruit plate, it had enough treats for 4 people. The drinks here are strong — you get what you pay for!

Mezzaluna is a must for anyone in Fargo! It’s one of the trendies and hippest places in town; and you’ll be glad to have gone there. You can have dinner in the restaurant seating areas of the place or simply be in the lounge area. Either way, you’re in business. The dinner menu is full of elegant and classy dishes. Personally, I’ve only eaten from the dinner menu twice; but both times have been very delicious. Most of the time, we simply get a hightop table in the lounge and order drinks and appetizers. If you do that, you’re going to be just as happy. Their bar menu is equally good. Be sure to try the M Burger, the cheese tray, the meatballs, or pasta dishes. My personal favorite is the grilled cheese and tomato soup! I know, you’re probably asking what am I doing ordering that at a classy lounge. But not so fast… this isn’t your ordinary grilled cheese and soup. It’s a grilled cheese with a mixture blend of cheeses on thick Texas toast and what tastes like homemade tomato soup! Definitely not Wonder bread with Kraft singles and a can of Campbell’s! Just trust me and try it! You’ll be in love too. =) The regular menu items are a little bit on the spendy side, but frequenting the lounge during happy hour will be kinder to your wallet. Most things are around $ 8.00! Be sure to check out Mezzaluna the next time you’re wondering where to go for a pre or post event cocktail and bite to eat. Or just when you’r in the mood for a hip place to be. Great service, great food, and great drinks!

Fargo’s number ONE place to eat. Trendy with just the right mix of class and cultural diversity to keep it fresh. Many of Fargo’s high society can be found here. The ‘u’ shaped bar is the hub of this restaurant. Providing traditional and out-side-of-the-box drinks. Happy hour drink prices still fall around 10 Dollars. Happy hour food items are competitively priced at 8 Dollars. The quality of food is on another level for anything being served within the downtown area. It is unlikely you will be disappointed. The staff personally greeted many of the regular patrons. Which gives the restaurant a personal touch while keeping it from becoming stuffy. Bar service was good but not exceptional. Classy but overly reserved, a bit stiff. Have a shot Mr. Bartender, you are under the limelight. You are there to entertain as much as you are to provide drinks. I was most impressed with the host. It is rare to fine a truly empathic person who can read a persons mood and perfectly accommodate it. Providing just the right mixture to make nearly anyone comfortable, welcome, and genuinely appreciated. Exactly what a quality host should do but what so so many fail at. To prevent any confusion as to whom I speak, you pull off the bow tie very handsomely. The special was the grouper. Cooked perfectly just the right mixture of spice and flavor. This chef knows how to elevate a dish with an array of flavor. Everything on the dish came together very nicely. Expect to spend between 26 – 34 per dish for an entrée. From Broadway go to the lobby door to the right of Sandys donuts. Walk straight through the lobby and into the alley. Walk straight ahead. The door is to the right about 15 paces. Otherwise enter from the other street.

Mezzaluna is one of the places in Fargo that everyone must try. It’s on the fancier/expensive side, but if you’re like me, go during happy hour. The happy hour dishes are only $ 8! I’ve tried a few, but I would say that the cumin scented pork belly is my favorite. Drinks are pretty good also. When I looked at the dessert menu, I was excited when I saw that they were only $ 2 – 3. However, they are bite-sized. Actually, maybe a little smaller than bite sized, lol. Still good, though.

Don’t be scared by the dark alley and array of dumpsters, as this place is a hidden gem. The hipster décor with retro fixtures really sets a good mood. The meatloaf was an amazing creation with tons of great flavor. The salads are small with amazing presentation. I enjoyed the mozzarella and heirloom tomato salad. The mozzarella was breaded and fried like a mozzarella stick. They have small desserts so you don’t have to save too much room. The prices are higher than Unilocal indicates if you plan to do full dinner service. They also have smaller fare for a fairer price. Looks like a great spot to eat some snack food and mingle with friends. Definitely will come again next time I’m in Fargo.
