Happy hour is the most fantastic reason to come here! It’s half off all drinks(4 – 6) and apps. We ordered 4 apps to share between two of us in lieu of dinner. We couldn’t finish all the food, but it was absolutely great, comfort-type food. They home-made the tater tots, and combined them into a meat/mushroom/cheese dish that was the best snack ever! Cool underground atmosphere, with trendy style. The only negative thing I could say about the experience was walking in this neighborhood of downtown Fargo. There are two or more groups of them that have claimed the sidewalks as their own. There was one transient who pulled a knife on the other while we were walking between them to get to the Boiler Room. A cop was driving by, but didn’t seem to care, or even slow down. Tip: Park behind the building, and enter from the rear. The place is good, but perhaps not quite good enough to endure a chest wound for it(-;

Great menu options, food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. They had a very diverse and unique drink menu as well. A little bit on the more expensive side but worth every penny. We went on a recommendation to try the ‘Manhattan’ because it was listed as a can’t miss cocktail in the Fargo area, and it lived up to the billing. The one negative is the entryway is in the alley behind Broadway so entering/exiting requires you to walk by the VFW dumpsters which can be a little unpleasant.

Good food, great drinks, but staff(especially the host) needs to learn how to hustle! We are inside but the patio is nice because it is technically below grade so you are still in the sun but protected form the ND wind.

This had to be the oddest experience and rude. The bartender chased me outside as if I were going to «dine and dash» on my overpriced 6 $ pint of beer. I was actually being polite in answering a phone call. Secondly a «person» insisted it was the law that my dog had«patches» marked as service. Her jacket is orange with no patches but has a small tag on her collar from the school which he failed to get. He also does not understand it is not a LAWTHAT I PROVEANYTHING. Bi thought walking with a painful limp and cane would suffice but apparently not. I will not return as I felt offended taking my animal to the car as I finished my 6 $ beer.

I visited with a group of friends over the weekend after the post marathon pub crawl. We were looking to try a new place in the area and this was rated well. We had a larger party of 8 and were told it would be about 30 minutes for a table. The pomegranate martini really made the time fly by! I asked the host after 30 minutes for an update and she told me they only have two 8-top tables and they were waiting for one to become available. I wish she would have told me that at the beginning as we would’ve gladly split into two 4-tops. We did eventually get seated and the service and food more than made up for the wait. I tried the Chicken Pot Pie as I had seen it go out to another table while we were waiting. It tasted wonderful, but I wish the puff pastry was actually baked onto the pie, rather than just laid on top. The Stacee’s Iced Lemon cake cocktail was so delicious I had to have another. Prices were very reasonable. Décor is stylish, you would never know you are in a basement. I would dine here again.

Nope. Nope. NOPENOPENOPENOPE. Maybe it was due to coming here while the country singing tornado that is Garth Brooks was in town, or maybe because it was Mother’s Day, but no matter what the reason, I am upset at the crappy service we got through out the whole time we were here. Sidenote: Garth Brooks and Mom’s Day aside — I DGAF how busy this makes your restaurant/bar. Both these events were known in advance — get your shit together, Boiler Room. The bartender openly complained about how many people were there and then later provided that as an excuse for our crappy service. Sorry — don’t care at all. I had to ask for water 4x, my husband asked for another beer 3x(from two bartenders) and our chips & dip order took almost 45 minutes and 3 follow-ups by me to see why it was taking so long. This place was completely unimpressive all around.

I was feeling hungry and heard a lot about the Boiler Room, so I decided to try the food. I was NOT disappointed. There’s a good selection of drinks at their bar(try the Moscow mule) and all drinks are half price during happy hour. The bartenders know their stuff because I watched them mix up my Moscow mule as I waited. So how’s the food? It looks good. I saw other customers eating the menu selections like the fish & chips or the Blotsky burger(the guy sitting next to me was eating one and it looked so tasty). The food definitely tastes good too! I went with the chicken & waffle! The waffle came with syrup & butter while the breaded chicken came covered in country gravy. They did not disappoint. The chicken was savory and the gravy tasted great but not overpoweringly spicy. As for the waffle, it was crispy and made fresh; I could tell because the edges looked like it came from batter cooked in a waffle iron rather than some frozen, store-bought waffle. The only downside to this place is that service can be slow. I waited ten minutes after getting my drink to have my food order taken so I have to knock off a few points for that. Aside from that flaw, you really need to go to the Boiler Room!

One of my favorite places in Fargo for brunch, lunch and dinner. They have a unique variety of food and great craft beer on tap. The bacon and spinach dip appetizer is amazing, the fish tacos are very well done, and their breakfast sandwiches are very satisfying. There is not a bad place to sit — whether it is at the bar, in the back room or at a high top and the servers I have experienced are quite friendly. Also, check out their Mixology Labs every Sunday.

This place is okay. The location and ambiance are pretty neat; I really love the outdoor seating, but the food has never impressed me or anyone I’ve gone with. Their vegan and vegetarian options are lacking.

I enjoyed a Copper Cannonball(super tasty) while waiting for a table. The staff was pleasant and the service overall was good, even though they were slammed I managed to get a drink at the bar fairly quick. I got the Crabcake Sandwich and some waffle fries. The waffle fries are what I really wanted but they were soggy by the time they made it to the table :’(. Otherwise, the food was good. I did not quite expect the Crabcake sandwich to be quite so filling.

Great atmosphere and very cool that the main entrance is from the alley. I’m a big fan of the scotch eggs and chicken & waffles. Great for lunch, dinner, brunch, snacks. I like the rotating cocktails on the menu and pretty much like anything that bartender Davin whips up!

After a long 12 hour day I got to try the Boiler room for the first time since moving to Fargo, ND. I would definitely recommend getting reservations if you plan on going on a weekend since we ended up waiting about 50 minutes for a table. However, it was worth the wait! I had the cod sandwich with waffle fries and it was amazing!

I really like this place for dinner. They have really good American style food. They can get quite full around dinner time though, so you might need to wait. They have a variety of beers and cocktails as well, so you’ll always find something to drink. PS: The entrance is in the alley behind the building.

The atmosphere and location get a 4.5. The food a 3.5. Overall a good 4 stars. The decoration is awesome! The food was good but nothing I would go out of my way for. If already downtown, I would definitely go back to eat there. For those complaining about bland food, just add a little salt. I actually appreciated that the food was flavorful and not over-salted like most other places.

Had lunch. Food was very good and presented well but pricey. Other than salads there was only one lunch item under $ 10. $ 10 cheeseburger for lunch? $ 10 for a grilled cheese sandwich? Please! Would go again but the prices will keep me from being a regular.

I really liked this place in downtown Fargo! Who knew such a place existed here. I felt like I was in a restaurant in Portland. It had such a craft, yet modern feel to it. Cozy too and you can see that it’s popular with the locals. 4 stars — Grilled Zucchini Melt. A sandwich with butter toasted sourdough bread, grilled zucchini, thick cut mozzarella, tomato pesto mayo, olives, feta, and tomatoes. The bread was cut thick, Texas toast style, so it was a little too much bread for me, but eating the veggies and cheese inside was satisfying. 4 stars — Smoky tomato soup. This one was pretty smoky, but I liked it! A great twist to the standard blended tomato soup. And the cup size portion with the sandwich is the right amount for lunch. Overall, everyone at our table liked the food. They also have great salads, a macaroni and cheese dish that looked amazing, other sandwiches, burgers, basically a lot to choose from. And based on what I saw at the surrounding tables’ food, it all looked great!

Cool place. Had very friendly knowledgeable bar tenders. Very good food and price you would expect in any Down Town America. Down town hipsters«Blah» and aging«Richies» all thrown together in a basement. Honestly not the worst place to be hanging at. I would go back again and bring friends.

We went here with a couple of friends for brunch on a Sunday. We ordered The chicken and waffle, Mexican flatbread, three meat omelette, and the bloody Mary bar. The food was pretty good. The chicken and waffle was probably my most favorite dish, bet it at $ 15 I thought it was also fairly steep in terms of price. The omelette was $ 11 and the flatbread I think was also $ 11. All of the breakfast items Came with fruit or cheese tater tots. The cheesy tater tots and the fruit were both really really good but there were only four tots. The bloody Mary bar was really great and there was a lot of selection. I would’ve liked to have seen a spicy bloody Mary mix added to the list of available options to put into drinks. Our waitress was superduper nice and friendly. She refilled our waters and checked in to make sure we had what we needed. This is one of the main reasons why I would consider going back. They also have a 20% off your entire bill with checking in on Unilocal,so I’m looking forward to using that next time I’m in Fargo!

I’ve been here a few times, kept giving it another chance and I’m glad I did this time. The food was spot on, the staff was friendly, and the Bloody Mary bar was amazing! Will definitely come back again!

Urm, I dunno. The place is really cool. I really want to like this place, but they dont make it super easy. I’ve had breakfast, lunch and supper here and it’s kinda sucked each time. I think they mean well though! The menu is interesting and unique. Unfortunately, the cooks aren’t very good. Everything I’ve had has been an overcooked, greazy disappointment. The service is great, however . I’m sure they have neato drinks, but so does every other place downtown. Protip: avoid the outdoor seating. It’s located just below the dumpsters, so you get a glorious waterfall of stank.
