We signed up for a consultation at a concert event and paid $ 30 for bamboo sheets, which I thought was a good deal for a king sheet set. Thought it was worth just going and listening to their pitch. We went to Direct Buy 7÷30÷14. Was led to believe it would be cost effective to join the club. We have a couple examples of washers and dryers for them to look up the cost it would be to order them through them. The price they found in their system would have saved us about $ 300 each, plus future savings on flooring, misc items, and the free travel we were getting. We decided to go for it! Something was just rubbing me wrong I guess and I went on-line and read some reviews and asked around to some friends. Now, I am personally a marketing director, so I know how on-line review sites work. More people go on to complain than all the people who are happy. So, I took their reviews as a grain of salt, but it did get me thinking and wanting to think on it more before it was too late. I opened up the sheet set to wash when I got home.(We really needed a new set of sheets!). The outside sheets were soft when we felt them, so we were excited! However, the inside sheet that is the fitted one felt totally different and cheap. Plus, it already had a defective rip in the middle of the fitted sheet. I started thinking even more… I logged onto their customer site where you can look up their prices. In order to prove to myself that it was still a good decision, I looked up a few more washers and dryers to compare. They didn’t have all models, but I found the ones they had and looked up the prices on Lowes and Home Depot to compare. After Direct Buy’s handling fee and shipping fee — only a $ 30 difference! WTH?! Everything I then looked at was about the same. Minimal savings. It would take forever to save the $ 3000 we invested! You also have to wait a couple months and install yourself, which is not worth a $ 30 savings either. Buying an appliance elsewhere gets free shipping next day and install. I am thinking they read me the price before shipping while in the store to make it sound like a deal. At this point I’m mad and convinced that it was a bad bad deal! The contract is very clear how to receive a refund within 3 business days. I followed the instructions exactly. Postmarked the first day, signature confirmation, the whole deal. Refund should be issued within 10 days. It has been a month and no word from Direct Buy. We have called, left messages on the answer machine, and left messages with the person answering the phone. No word and no refund. So now I am taking to social media and review sites. Don’t waste your time and money!!! Direct Buy — if you want me to change my opinion and my review(which will cost you business), I would suggest contacting me and issuing our refund as stated in your contract.

I’m sad to see so many bad reviews. We’ve always been super happy with our membership that we’ve had for over 15 years! We love purchasing from the many manufacturers at a sizable discount. We’ve saved thousands of dollars over the many years we’ve maintained our membership. They have had some changes of the people running the office in the last few years but I can honestly say we’ve been given very good service when we need it.

Awful! Never reply to calls or email messages. Do your research online — the reviews are valid. I have never seen service this bad.
