This is my fifth time now, amazing service, food is ONPOINT, and wine selection is fantastic. This is one of those small gems that you find and is one-of-a-kind! Make reservations to guarantee a seat.

Came for brunch, asked for a high chair or boaster seat. Waitress apologized that they didn’t have either, fine. Then she added«we aren’t very kid friendly», not necessarily in a vicious way but still unacceptable, especially on Father’s Day. Would have loved to try the food, was really looking forward to it.

The place is small and you will definitely be waiting if you didn’t make a reservation. And it is worth it! We started with the Burrata, which when I see anywhere, I always order. Amazing. I ordered a shrimp and cous cous dish and my fiancé ordered a chicken dish. Not a word was said between us because we were just savoring the flavor! This is a bright gem in Farmingdale! You won’t regret coming here.

Thank you chef

Damn. I mean, Daaammmnnn. Started off the meal with clams and chorizo sausage. mmmmmm So good. Had to ask for toast as to not let the bowl leave the table without the sweet nectar sopped up on the bread. I had the HB burger. 38 day aged beef with foie gras, 3 cream brie, bacon jam, onion, and tomato. Damn, Top 3 burger for me now. Knocked bachi burger Las Vegas down to 4. the flavor was amazing! My date for the night looked at me as I took the first bite and said«Did you just have an orgasm?» Yes was my reply. A little later she took a bite and likewise her eyes rolled in the back of he head and I said«Orgasm!» All she could do was nod. Great place, expect to pay $ 75 per person with 4 drinks between 2, an app and 2 entrees. But it was worth it. Bravo Hush. I’ll be back.

Great place overall. Food is of excellent quality and place is very cozy and charming. I do wish the space would allow for a little bit more seating. Prices are a bit high and portions are small, but I expect that for a bistro. Cornbread with maple butter, is divine as are desserts. Kale salad was great, so is the soup. And, pasta dish recently was yummy.

Being that Hush Bistro is considered one of the better rated restaurants on Long Island, I could not wait to try it out. Luckily, my birthday was a great excuse to invite myself there for dinner. It is a very small place, so be sure to make reservations ahead of time on OpenTable. Food and service were terrific, but the hostess was a bit unfriendly, hence minus one star. We ordered the fish of the day, which was halibut and a steak, both terrific. Beet salad with goat cheese, mac and cheese and brussel sprouts were fantastic! And cocktails… Terrific! Their mules are skilfully made and contain just the right amount of alcohol. The variety is excellent as well, even if you have no idea what you like. The place has more of a bar-like atmosphere than a restaurant, so a romantic dinner there is a stretch, but meeting a friend for a good meal sounds great!

Last weekend We found corner seats at the bar, were warmly welcomed into the cozy restaurant. Bartender was friendly and told us all their night specials and her personal favorites and her co worker helped us out too! We pretty much ate everything they recommended which was the duck duck and the Black Sea bass special as entrees and to start we had their corn bread with maple butter and some delicious citrusy jam and the pulpo salad which was out of this world! He bad a regular Collins and I had their ‘Miss Collins’ both were delish. We also ordered their Mac and cheese to go, which of course was amazing! We didn’t even have a doubt about it. Everything was amazing; the service, the food, the ambiance. Thanks Hush Bistro! I will be back!

This place need not be kept on the HUSH! What a great experience, I came two nights ago with my parents. They’ve been here before but it was my first visit and a good one at that. The interior of this place is awesomely inviting, the comfort feel and delicious aromas tearing through the air… We loved it. Came in a bit before 5 but they will not take your order until 5pm(we are early bird eaters lol) The eats included: The cornbread with this delicious butter and sweet jam. To die for, I could have eaten about 10 small loaves… Crispy chicken! The skin was crispy and crunchy yet the chicken stayed juicy and tender(except more on the ends but I guess that’s expected). No bone except a very small one. This plate was accompanied by some mashed potatoes and collard greens which had a nice smoked taste to them. It was also a decent sized portion– two nice sized pieces of chicken, I finished the rest yesterday for dinner. The carbonara was extremely silky and decadent but light tasting at the same time… My mom really enjoyed that. The egg yolk in the middle really amped up the dish to about a 10, only thing is we would have enjoyed an additional side of Parmesan cheese as it was quickly absorbed by the egg and continuous stirring, still delicious but we do tend to favor a little more cheese especially with pasta… The hake special… Was a delight and made me feel like i was on vacation. This fish is so light but meaty and medium flake to it. This fish is considered one of the favorites amongst the whiting family because of its tender, sweet, white meat. Chef Bynum treated this fish very well. The Mac and cheese … I don’t feel I need to emphasize exactly how rich tasting this was. The picture explains it all! Also, ditalini pasta is my favorite, I thought these tiny tubes were a great pick to trap the cheesy goodness inside with each bite… Our experience was great here, if you desire to dine here… You must make a reservation… They fill up. There is bar seating, about 7 tables for two and the front table at the window that may accommodate parties of 3 – 6 people. While we we dining, many people off the streets came in confident that they would sit however, they were all booked! If you don’t want to get turned away, call in advance! This place is a gem and I would come back here, I highly recommend it to others. I have to come back and try his ramen!

Came for Sunday brunch– place is very«quaint» which surprised me from the outside. Brunch menu on website is not up to date which frustrated me bc I was looking to try the kimchi burger that wasn’t being served! Update your sites people! Social media is important… anyway. Server was alright– he did his job, but wasn’t overly friendly. He told us the specials and suggested a «bloody maria» which I’ve never had before(spicy and made with tequila) was good. There’s a nice drink/cocktail/craft beer selection. Brunch menu was alright– kind of expected more, especially for what we paid! Portions were not that big. Spent $ 90 on egg in a basket and pork belly sandwich, two beers, 1 cocktail($ 14!), cappuccino and piece of cake. I don’t mind spending that in Manhattan, but again, we were in Farmingdale, for BRUNCH. Not sure if we’ll be back. it was good, but mind wasn’t blown.

DON’T ASKFORKETCHUP!!! Goodwill is one of the most significant assets of any business but it is the most perishable, prone to being destroyed by a careless remark… Case in Point: Our dining group occupied the sole table for six and had dinner in this very small and narrow Farmingdale restaurant on Tuesday, 12/01.The table for six is a hot commodity so try to reserve a couple of weeks in advance if you want it. It is a pleasing space, dark but not too dark. Interesting music played but did not blare, facilitating conversation. The restaurant features exceptional cocktail, craft beer and wine choices, providing a reason to return to sample the wares. I chose the Three Philosophers Beer and it was excellent. Our server was pleasant and prompt. The restaurant was nice enough to give us separate checks. Please note that they add a 20 percent charge to groups of 6, which should have been disclosed but was not. On to dinner… I had the Onion Soup, a special. Although the amount of broth was pretty skimpy(more akin to a portion of dipping sauce), the soup was spectacular and the best I ever had. The broth was jumping with flavor from perfectly caramelized onions. You could tell that the person who prepared it had great technical skill. The large croûton was also very tasty. I followed it up with the HB Burger(a steep $ 28.00). The Burger was very good. The accompanying French Fries were excellent, topped with cheese with a very good(buttermilk-based?) dipping sauce. Members of our group LOVED the Roast Chicken, Duck, Pork Belly and Prawns with Couscous. The desserts were awe-inspiring(Chocolate and Olive Oil Cakes and Panna Cotta). Now the bad… I asked for regular ketchup for my hamburger, a pretty innocuous request which should not have generated controversy or, in this case, scorn. After declining chipotle ketchup, and overhearing a condescending remark about my request(probably not made by the server), I was told that they do not have ketchup. I guess there was no organic, grass-fed, non-GMO, fair trade pretentious product available from their supplier or no inclination to make something so simple in their kitchen. Despite the gauche treatment of a paying customer who chose their restaurant and put five fannies in their place who would otherwise have not been there, I would still highly recommend Hush Bistro for its expertly prepared and presented food. As to their attitude, draw your own conclusions.

Wow! No complaints about this place. Excellent food, accommodating staff & cozy atmosphere. There is a decent sized bar and the dining area is very small. We were lucky to get a table right away without a reservation, but I would recommend making one. We sat right next to the open kitchen, which was pretty great considering the chef is basically a Food Network celebrity. I had one of their brunch specials, scallops & grits, which was delicious. My side of hash browns was tasty too and my husband enjoyed his BLT. They have an extensive menu of Sunday cocktails, which are pricey but worth a try. I’m looking forward to going back soon for lunch or dinner!

Ordered: Pork belly and Meyer lemon and ricotta ravioli 4⁄5 Pros-The pork belly was the tenderest I’ve ever had. The spicy kimchi, savory pork belly and hoisin sauce, and pork belly made for a great flavor complexity. The lemon in the ravioli dish added a unique spin on traditional ravioli. Cons-The portions were somewhat small considering the price. They included an olive oil cake on the dessert menu, but I was sadly informed that they took it off the menu. I wish they would have informed me of the change upon presenting the menu, prior to my olive oil cake excitement.

Came in on a Saturday evening with a friend not realizing that Main St. was shut down for a festival of sorts. We had to park Few blocks away & walk but It was a nice night to walk. Upon entering we were greeted warmly by the hostess but we came for cocktails so we sat at the bar. Let me preface this review with yes it’s a small space. Very small, but I loved the configuration. Cozy but chic & inviting. Our first bartender Andrea greeted us but it seemed like she didn’t want to be there & was hating her job. So I was relieved when Ben took over to make our drinks. Ben was friendly, smiled & knowledgeable about his cocktails. I ordered the French It Up Julep which was good, just not enough. Or maybe I would’ve preferred it on the rocks instead of under a snow cone. Now my bone of contention was my app of Foie Gras PB& J that others seemed to rave about. I buy it, I cook it, I’ve stuffed it into other foods. So I am well aware of the cost. So I was a little taken aback at the $ 21 price on a silver dollar sized slice of Foie Gras an 1⁄8 of an inch thick. Flavor on the torchon was good, the toast crisp & the berry preserve flavorful. The PB mousse could’ve been left off the plate. Great concept that didn’t pan out for me. Would I go back? Yes. I soooo want to love this place but it was a disappointing first date for me. But I want to re-review it after I’ve tried the actual meals. Until our second date Hush, this is where I stand right now.

Few days ago was my second time to Hush and I am finally get some time to write a review for them. This place deserves all the respect and props it can get. I mean what can you say for a place that sources their food locally. I love that. And to top it all of… the food is amazing. The place is a bit small. really feels like you are in NYC. Super cozy with a view into the kitchen. You get to see your feed being made with such attention to detail. Drinks are amazing as well! Owner is super friendly and knowledgeable oh and super passionate. I will be back again and again and again. Oh and he is opening a Soup and Hero place around the corner which I can’t wait to try :)

Oh Hush and Chef Bynum how I have waited for a place like yours to come to my new found home. See I was used to places like this when i lived in NYC and not that I’ve move east the quality of restaurants is lacking… that is until I found Hush American Bistro. In keeping with the NYC vibe, this place is small… I mean tiny but the flavor they put on you plate more than make up for it. we came on valentines day(I know I know… but the wife loves it) and were greeted promptly and seated right away by the front door. The only down side to that was that every time the door opened a giant burst of cold air came in and chilled my poor wife down. The hostess(forgive me I forgot her name) was very nice to aim the heater toward my wife. They were only serving the Valentines day menu which was cool with me except they did not have the Foie Gras PB&J which I was dying for. we had the following: Amuse of Scallop, The mix of ingredients escapes me but i know that the scallop was buttery and cooked to perfection. Apps: Pork Belly: cooked perfectly and the kimchi added a nice sourness to the rich dish Wild Mushroom Toast: nice balance but was missing the pumch of the truffle I was looking for Mains: Surf and turf: Again cooked to perfection. Smallish portion but you forget when the flavors are so good. Karabuta Pork Chop: They were out of or not happy with the Quail which I wanted but I was happily surprised with the pork chop. It was juicy and not dry at all and the maple demi glacé made the dish. Desert:(I think they were out of both, but definitely the cheesecake) Panna Cotta rich and creamy and full of flavor. Olive Oil Cake: Probably the best I’ve ever had. Super moist and delicious. The other thing that is great about Hush is they have great drinks and a well stocked and though out bar. They also have great bartenders who know their stuff. All of my drinks were expertly only complaint was the sizeof them. At $ 14 a pop they could really pour a little more. As I said before this place is a welcomed addition for me. Sort of a reminder of home. The portion sizes as some mentioned were small but when savoring food as good as this, you slow down and require much less then the swill you might normally be shoveling in your hole.(This coming from a former shoveler) I can’t wait to come back here to try the rest of the menu especially the Foie Gras PB&J. If you are in the area or need a nice cozy romantic spot, check them out.
