The Main Event

Terrible food. Okay service, Great spot to hang out with friends and have a few drinks. Nice atmosphere for watching sports and all. But food is tasteless.

Overall a good eating experience is to be had here. It’s a sports bar loud and bustling with lots of families and small children. The burgers are excellent the main courses I would say average. Price-​wise this place is not cheap don’t expect prices to be low they are middle to high. The service is pretty good and crisp.

A great place to grab a drink with a friend, watch a game or two. I ordered the marinated steak tidbits, sounds delicious right? It wasn’t! Very over priced for a horrible lunch. A few other people I went with also didn’t enjoy their meal. If you’re thinking of eating here, stick to simple platters… from the Appetizer Menu.

Me and couple of my co-​workers/​friends were taken out and treated to this place. I never been here so I was excited to try a new place. I got the Mexican wrap with shrimp with a side order of sweet potato. It was so good, I was pleasantly surprised. The service was good as well, the waitress was on it and refreshed our drinks and made sure we had everything. Would like to come again but for dinner next time, my friend said they have a good salmon special they have at dinner time, so I will be back to check it out.

This is a nice place overall with nice staff and good food, but the parking here is a nightmare. Couldn’t find a spot in their parking lot, so I had to park across the street (Sherwood Ave, not 110).

Came here for the first time with my girlfriend. She had great things to say about it because the week before she came in for happy hour with her co-worker’s. The place has a team theme going at the booths and a nice amount of tv’s for watching games. The food was good but the service to me was very poor and not on top of things. I did come back the week after and sat at the bar with my buddy. Service at the bar was good and the food to me was very good again. This place to me would be perfect for sunday football or to watch any game.

Had a great time on Super Bowl Sunday. Food and drinks were awesome the crowd was fun. Thank you Gina for getting us a great table. Eddie our waiter was excellent. Great day. Thank you.

Been there before with decent experiences… good drinks, good food. Friendly. Went there for dinner and didn’t get what we specifically ordered and was very disappointed. Manager came by apologized, explained the issue, replaced our meals and gave us a gift certificate for our next visit. He saved it. Nicely done. Worth going there and we will go back.

This review is regarding the new years eve event 2015. The event overall was great and the venue is nice and clean. I would have given 5 stars for the service and availability of food. However, giving a bad review when they are doing sterno trays and having food sit out just isnt fair. Being straightforward, the food was not really good but it was a catering setup and the main focus this night was dancing and drinking.
We arrived at around 9pm and there was no big messy security or waiting line, even though the place was crowded. The bar was not doing shots, but with a decent tip the girls layed out some chilled tequilas and vodkas for us. I dont think we were supposed to tip however :)
The music selection started off kind of slow and out of place. A few girls in our group actually went over to the DJ to ask him to put on something that they could dance to. After this he revved it up.
A nice experience and a great event to bring in the new year.

Fairly good place to come hang out with friends for drinks and snacks. It’s a big place but it packs out very fast in the evenings and becomes deafening. There are plenty of large flat screens all around the place to watch the game. The food is hit and miss. Excellent wings and the baked clams are awesome. Sliders and other cooked dishes are just average. Service leaves a bit to be desired. It may be a while before you see your server once you’re initially served a don’t expect them to check up on your table. Again, it’s a fairly good place to come if you don’t mind crowds and noise.

New Years Day Eve and we visited for dinner around 9pm. this was after trying Rolling Springs in Farmingdale and sign said Happy New Year… Closed for renovations… So The Main Event it was! Parking lot was pretty empty and we went in and the place was also pretty empty but indeed they were open. Our wait person was very nice and helpful so we ordered a chicken empanada which was not real Mexican fare but was pretty good anyway. For Mains BG ordered a combo of ½ rack Baby Backs and a Dozen Buffalo Wings. Both were well prepared and enjoyable to eat. I had an All American Burger med rare which came out charred on the outside and perfect on the inside. I felt the bun was too large for the burger but otherwise it was great. Subbed Onion Rings for FF and they were nice but when the onion string pulled out with the first bite…
The place is quite large with lots of tables and TV’s and must be alot of fun when a big game is on. We will return to try the other choices of their large menu!

Had a baby shower here for my sister this past November. The food was excellent and the party area was very clean, the staff was very accommodating being that we had extra people show up. The manager Mike was a sweetheart and very friendly to all of our family. Will definitely visit again.

First time here, this place is huge. Numerous tv. Bar is in a good location. My son had the stadium burger he said the pattie was too small. The women’s bathroom is amazing, huge. I will be back.

I love the Main Event. While we usually go to the Plainview location because it’s closer, the Farmingdale location is much much bigger. This is great if you are going on a weekend night because you can usually grab a table with out much of a wait. Great pub food here, hell even the fish is pretty damn good.
There are two big differences between this location and Plainview. The size of the restaurant and the number of TVs. There are so many TVs that no matter where you sit you have a great view of the game.

I have been to the Main Event several times. My daughter absolutely loves the place. I happen to like the fresh fish options on the menu. You don’t have to settle for the usual sports bar meal at the Main Event. I would have given 5 stars but our last visit the service was not as good as usual. Some mistakes with orders and things. I have to say it was a very busy Saturday. That being said our waitress did her best to correct the imperfections. All in all solid meal we will be back. Also the owner is a nice guy and goes out of his way to say hello to all the guests.

This place was great. We had a group of 25 people on Saturday at 6:30 and we didn’t have a problem with anything. The place is huge. There’s tons of seating. We were really comfortable. We didn’t feel like we were sitting on top of each other. There’s a least 50 TVs, a nice size bar, indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone was so helpful and attentive. Our waiters Mike R. And Kevin were especially great. They were so polite and accommodating. Anything we needed, they were right on top of it. All the food came out at the same time, our drinks were always full. Honestly, I can not say enough good things about this place. Would recommend to any one.

Ok, so I downloaded this app just to vent my frustration. This was the worst meal I’ve ever had in life. The calamari was as cold as the sea it came out of. Then my potatoes were cold. Then my wife’s risotto was still frozen in the center. The manager offered to bring out hot food but after tasting the food cold, who was in the mood to eat?! We will never go back. The meal tasted like they knew we were going on Unilocal and they prepackaged it with boogers and cum.

This is a great sports with beautiful outdoor seating. The inside is pretty big and can hold a large crowd. It’s nice to come here on a sports night to watch a fight since they have large flat screen TVs covering every inch of the restaurant. The food, service and energy is great here.

I don’t think there’s a better place to watch a sporting event. I believe they have around 50 TVs arranged throughout the dining area.
There are two bars. The main bar is U-​shaped and seats about 30.
The décor is nice. Service is excellent. Everything is very clean.
I saw a HUGE selection of liquor and at least 20 taps. I believe they offer Happy Hour specials weeknights from 4 — 7 pm.
The menu is extensive and the food is very good.
If you have one hour for lunch this place is doable as the service is very quick.

If you want a sports bar this is the place to go. There are so many TV’s you won’t lack for visual stimuli. The menu is huge and has just about anything you could want. The prices are bit high but the is an abundance of food. I had the sampler appetizer and it was massive. Better for two than one person. Plenty of parking.
