99 Bottles

Customer service has went way down lately, I can honestly say this one individual is the worse regarding customer service that I have experienced in years (I believe the owner) this is shocking especially considering I gave them 5 stars a year ago!!! Honestly this is the only thing that will probably keep me from going back.
Ok lets be fair their beer selection is amazing, ok a bit overpriced, but you can find some great beer if not amazing hard to find beers in there. Heck I drive 16 miles from North Tacoma to Federal Way which usually takes over 30 minutes to get there and I have spent well over $ 2000.00 in over the 5 years I have been coming here.
So let me explain things… I had not been in here for awhile, busy getting married and stuff like that. So about a year ago I visited and I believe the owner (glasses and usually, if not always wearing a baseball cap) was working there and I asked a question and got a rude response like I was bugging him; by the way place was completely emptied. The next time I saw him; a few months later he was very cool and engaging. A few months passed and I saw on Facebook page they had posted they would have a limited release Dogfish beer in the afternoon, being a big beer drinking I would only assume 120 minute IPA. Anyhow I asked this individual if they had the limited release Dogfish and in a crappy tone he said which one? He never made eye contact or stopped doing what he was doing; I said I did not know and that I saw this on his social media site. He never stopped taking photos of his beers and never addressed me again. Then about 45 seconds later another guy, someone I have never seen before, said yes the 120 and I have them at the counter.
Anyhow maybe things are rough for him since Total Wine and More moved in or whatever, but his job is customer service and honestly he is doing a crappy job. I do have Pint Defiance much closer to my house which I will start going to more often and if /​when I go back in I will bring this to his attention unless I get a response from this review. I hate giving crappy reviews especially for one of my old favorites, but thankfully there are other options out there.
***** It has been one day since I wrote the article above. Since then I have heard from one of the co-​owners. I am not going into details, I don’t want to create tension but the response was genuine, showing concern for their business, and I was pleasantly surprised. I am not going to say anything more, but I do know what days I will shop there.

Very nice place. Tons of bottles in coolers and along the walls. I like that you can mix & match 6 packs and get your perfect mix.

Great selection. I love how I can mix-​and-​match a six pack. They have a wide variety of IPAs, ales, domestics and imports.

Lack of customer service so go in knowing your beer and what you might want to try. Better yet, stick to Total Wine; better prices and selection

Why did no one say hi when I walked in I have no idea about what kind of beer to get and two people were there no one willing to help, you work at a beer store, maybe so what can I help you with, dude thanks would have spent money there this is my 3^rd time in same experience everytime

Great selection, the hipster behind the register is offputting but will answer questions, which you know, is… part of his job.

Ask them for a punch card if you plan to shop regularly. Saves $! Check the calendar for weekly «tastings» they have. Very fun. Those are fun. I take my husband on a date from time to time and start out with the beer tasting then diner elsewhere.

Simply one of the best selections in the greater Seattle area. Big clean sore and helpful staff. Good prices on sampler flights. Easy in/​out location. I’ll be back.

Thank you for the excellent customer service! I had stopped in a couple times for Schofferhoffer Grapefruit but you were out. I casually mentioned that I would drop by on Fridays and today when I came in, there was a 6 pack waiting on the counter. What an awesome surprise! I wish I knew his name, but the guy who’s usually there on Fridays is always very helpful. This was above and beyond.

Best Beershop in area. Tons of selections. Local and regional stuff. They do mark up prices a bit but they can since no one in area can compete. 8 taps for growlers. They do an awesome job keeping inventory updated and marketing to the beer crowd.

Yay! I love this place!
It’s the only store that carries a cider that I recently tried and love! The cider brand tweeted back to me that 99 bottles carries the cider and included them in the tweet. 99 tweeted back how many are in stock!
When I arrived at the store, I was overwhelmed by how many different selections of beer and cider there are. The prices are amazing and it’s AWESOME that bottles and cans are sold separately so you can try one and see if you like it instead of wasting $$$ on a 6 pack!

This place is pretty cool.
They always have RPM IPA available for growler fill. If this store was closer to me, I would come here every weekend just for this.
Their prices are about… 50 cents to $ 2 more expensive than say… Total Wine. I know I know I know… but I am just stating the facts. I do want to support local bottle shops but sometimes this makes the difference.
They occasionally have cellar sales and they do offer good bottles but the prices are just… too high sometimes.
With that said, Tiffany (manager I believe) is super knowledgeable and nice.
If you’re near Federal Way and in need of good #CraftBeer, this is the shop you want to visit.

Really like this place. They have a great selection of beers in cases from international to local there is plenty of variety. They also have a good variety of growler fills to choose from too. On certain days you can get a flight of 4 different beers to try. I would definitely recommend this place, especially since Federal Way is so limited, this is a great choice!

What a great place. The selection is so on point. It’s as volumnous as a beer bar in cold bottles alone, yet they also have a large section of room temperature ones as well. Best of all? This place is a growler refilling station. With SIX options to choose from! I wish i had known that before coming.
The staff was knowledgable and courteous. I told them what styles of beer i was specifically looking to buy and they had several suggestions for each one as well as comments on taste, hoppyness, aroma, and how a beer compared to other ones within that style. Amongst the beers i did peruse, there were some seriously great selections. Big, bold, barrel aged stouts. Sour krieks. Imperial IPAs. One of the employees even had a good suggestion on a cheap pale ale when I asked him for something sessionable (and a bit more affordable).
The products are expensive, but that’s because you’re paying for quality stuff. If you’re a craft beer enthusiast you can definitely find plenty of things to please your palette. If you aren’t super knowledgeable of IBUs and yeast strains and grain adjuncts and what differentiates one style of beer from another, the staff will happily assist you. I managed to snag one of the last few bottles of Boulevard’s Love Child no 4 when I went there last Saturday which, btw, completely blows my mind that they have ANY of that beer left at this point!
This place makes me wish I lived in Federal Way.

99 bottles of beer on the everywhere ! lol i love 99 bottles, they have a library of flavors and types of alcohol for either the taking, tasting, and ordering.
This location in federal way, we came in and wanted to see what they had available and we werent let down. My bf ended up spending a lot more than what we just had for lunch next door haha only because he LOVES beer. Just so happens stout was on tap. He got the tasters which came in little cups on a «paddle» hehe then he ended up getting a 12^th man yes seahawk 12 man growler and took stout home with us.
Customer service was well knowledgeable on what they had and super friendly.

This place is very cool. They have pretty much everything you can think of as far as beer and wine. Including my favorite Framboise Lambic. Unfortunately their prices aren’t as great. I would only go to a place like this if A– they sold items that weren’t at my local grocery store (which I’m sure they do, just nothing I would purchase) or B– have better pricing. So I just couldn’t give the full 5 stars

Very good selection of Beer! If you like trying different beer then this is the place for you! They have beer from ALL around the world, some are rather pricey though, like a bottle from Norway I saw had a price tag of $ 20, but most of their beer is under $ 3.

Awesome selection of beer! They even have a good collection of gluten-​free beer. Staff is always informative and helpful with any questions. We always get our kegs here to fill our home kegerator for parties.
