My favorite conveyer belt sushi place in Tacoma/Federal way/Tukwila. My besties and I love this place. It’s neat that each color plate is priced reasonably. Great for beginners eating sushi if you’re not ready to pay $ 12 for a roll that you aren’t sure if you could even swallow. The miso is hot and flavorful. The best roll here is the S0S roll which is the baked scallop roll. Every time we come here we order a ton of plates of it. The sushi chefs are super cool and they make us fresh ones right there no attitude! Try it out!

It was ok im pregnant so couldn’t tey the raw rolls. My husband was not impressed. The service was pretty good. The music didn’t bother me. I hear people dont like the random seletion. The music is random at buffalo wild wings tho never seen people complain. I been to other convery belt sushi place like at the south center one. This place gets more points from me then there.

Have eaten here many times in the past. Its been about 6 months since my last time eating here and this will be my last. My wife and I had lunch here on 4÷23÷2016, the service was ok but the food and cleanliness was disturbing. There was dried sticky sauce remanants on several of the counters and view windows were the food prep was being completed. There was garbage on the floor all over in the food prep area as well. I watched one of the cooks cutting avacados and dropoing the peels on the floor and kicking them over towards the garbage. The plastic covers for the plates are worn and cracked, we were unable to see what was on the plates without having to lift the cover. Our only thought could be new owners or new management and both are cutting costs for quality. Never again…

We planned to have a delightful sushi lunch today. When we walked in all the stools were taken, but there was a table open. We were told we had a 10 minute wait. When we asked about the table, we were told they have a 3 person limit. We have been here many times before, the other staff recognized us, but we had never seen this girl before, and had never been told this before. We left. It’s rude to make people wait when you have an open table.

It’s a conveyor belt sushi place. That being said, if you’re sushi expectation aren’t too high, then its a good place to try out. Customers services are hit and miss depending on the time of days. When I was here at 8 pm on a saturday night, my service was excellent. The waitstaff was friendly and responsive. On the other hand, when I was in here at lunch time, the service was severely lacking. The sushi are just your standard california roll with modifcation to them. At least that’s what it looks like was on the conveyor belt. Some nigari that was really sad looking and tasted just as bad.(my mistake for grabbing it). Calamari was tasteless, and it comes with mustard and mayo for dipping sauce. Nothing really stood out at this sushi place.

Holy customer service! We were told to sit wherever we pleased and were provided with a beverage immediately. Mom specified no ice and I just said water and I got mine with ice(I know it seems like not a big deal, but they read my mind and I’m a woman so that makes me happy!) The food was BOMB. Great sushi in a surprising area. I feel no need to search for a different place; this is my new«go to»! Alex was SUPER helpful with my specific order and was very understanding when my mom mentioned one dish was way too spicy for her. He was so sweet about it and continued to check on us to see how we were doing even with a packed house. So impressed with him and this place!

Surprised this place has 3 and half stars lol. When they first opened they had amazing sushi! Always fresh! Different options. But now their quality has gone down. The sushi sometimes looks thrown together or made by amateurs. Sushi isn’t supposed to be warm so when I do order a sushi roll that is deep fried or heated then I need to be warm when I get it but here it’s always like warm. I guess it’s good for people who just started to eat sushi.

I come here almost every time I visit my boyfriend in Federal Way. We are always seated quickly and the wait staff is always very attentive. The sushi here is tasty! I wish they would have more variety going around on the belt; however, you can order special rolls off of the menu if you want something different and they normally come out fairly quickly. For conveyer belt sushi, it is pretty standard. Nothing spectacular, but still delicious. Will definitely go back in the future.

Nothing like«SushiLand»(if you never been there you should!“ The prices are expensive. From $ 1.75−3.75 The wait to be seated wasn’t long but it was packed. The wait for your orders were slow and they forget that you even order. The calamari does not taste good at all. Neither does the try the clam. Not good. And their honey walnut. Nope.

The customer service here is just average, along with their sushi. The regular udon has nothing in it but noodles and some seaweed, which was honestly not worth it. The tempera udon is a bit better. The only rolls I would order here is the lion king roll, spider roll, and the muscles. I only come here when I don’t want to drive all the way to Seattle for real sushi, but for a conveyer belt sushi, this place is a lot better than other conveyer belt sushi.

First experience with a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. Food was good, happy they include a menu with prices of plates, and each dish color coded by price. Grabbed a few plates that we’re suggested before I got the hang of how it all worked. I saw the rainbow roll, and trued it. Very tasty and fresh, for a newbie-ish raw fish eater. But i did get the orange chicken. It was very yummy, but almost too sweet. i Ordered a drink from the bar, it was pretty weak, but the servers are very attentive. Ordered cold sake(finally a place that serves it either way), and that hit the spot. I will say it’s my boyfriend’s top place to go to quick and tasty sushi. Cant wait to go back, and try more!

I would say this place is borderline average in terms of food for a conveyer belt sushi place. Their staff(especially the host) on the other hand, is far below average in terms of common sense.

Sushi from a conveyor belt. You basically take your pick of whatver sushi you want as it comes by. You get charged based on the color of the plate. You can also order off of a menu and I’ve seen the orders come out rather quickly. I had some green tea and it’s served individually in a cup and I had to ask for more as it wasn’t a huge cup. There are two choices of soy sauces. one was a lower sodium lite soy sauce. The pickled ginger and wasabi were already on the table in a covered container. The place is big and spacious and there are TV’s in the center where the chefs make the sushi. Thursday night fooball was playing at the time. Their sushi is ok. However their customer service is excellent! I may give this place another chance but next time I would order items directly off of the menu.

I basically go here for the lion king roll. Other than that, it’s your typical conveyer belt sushi. Nothing spectacular, nothing terrible. For a conveyer belt place it’s not bad. I would however warn you to not order their udon. Wayyyy too salty. Once in awhile I will takeout when I’m feeling sushi but don’t wanna go anywhere fancy and just want to eat it at home.

The only reasons why i didnt rate them a 5 are the following, 1. Spicy mayo has too much mayo 2. Orange chicken is basically missing the chicken 3. Not enough lower price items on the velt 4. Some of the sushi isnt so taste Other than that its pretty darn good!

It’s only good because I had never had conveyer belt sushi before. I came here with a group of friends who insisted that I needed to try sushi this way, so I obliged. Space: Set up pretty standard to how every conveyer belt sushi place is set up: one large belt around an island, and then tables set up around it. The décor is nothing to remember. Service: We were seated pretty promptly, since the place was rather empty at 8pm on a rainy day. It’s kind of self-serve sushi, so you’re pretty much serving yourself and don’t need a waitress. However, they were a bit slow on the check(probably to get us to eat more and spend more money) and I had to ask multiple times for more water. So, promptness could have greatly improved. Sushi: For someone who really enjoys good sushi, I found the sushi here rather mediocre(and that’s being generous). It wasn’t super fresh, but I didn’t expect it to be. Although you get to see the sushi chefs make the sushi from where you’re sitting, the fish isn’t that great and the rolls themselves are sloppily done. Other: The seaweed salad was offered in decent portions, and there were some other monstrous plates I couldn’t quite figure out that were also impressive. The dessert/mochi ice cream is your basic Trader Joe’s frozen mochi, cut up. The price is decent, but if I’m going to spend $ 20 on sushi, I’ll just order a nice roll at a restaurant. Maybe it’s because I don’t like the idea of conveyer belt sushi, or because the food here was so lacking, but overall, Blue Island Sushi and Roll is nothing to come back to. I’ll try my hand at some other places, but if you’re stranded in the Dirty Fed, then this isn’t the worst place in the world.

I only come here for the SALMONPOKESALAD which is a menu item. My sister got me addicted to the flavor and Blue island is the only place that uses this soy/sesame/gingery sauce. The service is pretty consistent. Sometimes I get suckered into getting the items on the conveyer belt, but its always mediocre and pretty basic. I use to call in my poke salad for pick up and the the last time I called, the woman on the phone said that they don’t do orders over the phone. She said they never did… When I told her that I had called many times to order over the phone, she said whoever did it was not suppose to… That really turned me off. They definitely lost my business that day… I would give the poke salad 5 stars and everything else is just OK.

I’ve been here a couple times before(maybe a year ago?) but I think this place got so much better recently. I went for dinner on a Friday. It was pretty busy and had to wait a couple minutes to be seated. I’m usually not a fan of sushi belts because you never know how long the sushi has been sitting on that belt. So make sure the sushi is fresh before you eat or even better, just order from the waiter directly. This place was packed so there was A LOT of sushi on the belt. I don’t eat or like raw fish so I usually go for the California rolls, which was standard and pretty good. I liked the cucumber salad, very tangy and cleanses your palette. Service was great. My waitress, Sylvia, was very attentive and suggested some yummy sushi that we should order. She suggested this one deep fried roll with cream cheese and jalapenos on it and it was spicy and good! Will def come back!

Great sushi, seafood and other small plates swinging by on a conveyor belt. Different colored plates mean different prices. Grab whatever sparks your eye as you see it move by on the conveyor belt. Simple things like fried shrimp and California rolls are available along with all kinds of sushi and Japanese dishes. Fast servers clear the small plates, take your orders from the menu, bring the beverages and track how big your tab will be. I came in with a family. The kids were scarfing up shrimp, spring rolls and rice. I would say this is definitely kid friendly. The décor is minimalist with some neon window signs. Everything from the booth to our surroundings was clean. This gem is hidden in the strip mall. Look for it behind McD’s. Lots of free parking available. Food: 4 Ambiance: 2 Service: 4 Parking: 4

Affordable tasty sushi! I am not a fan of conveyor belt sushi because you never know how long each item has been sitting out. I actually really like Blue Island Sushi. The quality is better than other conveyor belts sushi that I have been to(Blue C Sushi, Sushi Land, Genki Sushi, etc.). PROS: Service: I’ve always had a good experience a this location. The service has always been attentive and quick. Price: Very affordable ranging from $ 1.75-$ 4 per dish. Food: I usually get the same thing and it’s always satisfying. Miso soup, seared salmon, lion king roll and baked scallop roll. The miso soup is probably made from a package but it does the trick for me. The seared salmon is heavenly. The salmon and the spicy mayo just melts in my mouth. I am a big fan of baked rolls and spicy mayo. The lion king roll and scallop roll are both topped off with spicy mayo and a teriyaki-soy sauce then baked to perfection. It’s always served right out of the oven. CONS: Limited seating: This establishment is always packed every time that I come for lunch since they only open half of the restaurant. They should consider using the whole restaurant since this place gets so busy during mid afternoons. TIPS: If you want an item made fresh then order it from one of the waiters. If eating food that’s been sitting on a conveyor belt grosses you out then go to an actual sushi restaurant.
