Bucky’s – Federal Way

I have to say I am extremely scared to go to mechanics as so many have ripped off so many people. Well not this place. They have a customer for life. Honest and the prices were great. Thanks guys for replacing my alternator so fast same day and doing a great job!

I took my car to a small little repair shop in SeaTac a few weeks back and had them replace the rear brake pads. The price was very good and they did the work immediately and fast but afterwards, the noises coming from the brakes got worse than they were before the replacement. I put up with it for a few days and then decided to swing into Bucky’s because they are really close to home. I told them about the previous work and about the noises and they took it in for a look.
The mechanic returned to me pretty quickly and showed me that the front brake pads were severely worn and needed to be replaced. I asked about the noise coming from the rear and he told me that it was the front that was causing the noise. I reluctantly decided to have them do the work at that time instead of waiting until payday and an hour later, I had brand new brakes on all four of my wheels. Bucky’s was very professional and the price was reasonable. They took good care of me and my car but ever since I had the work done at Bucky’s, the noises are still coming from the back of the car when I step on the brakes. Not just a squeaking either. They still squeak but there is another disturbing sound like something is broken or not working correctly. Surely, I would think that if something was wrong that Bucky’s would’ve found it during their inspection. Surely, they weren’t more worried about selling me on a front end brake job than fixing the problem that I actually brought the car in for. Or were they? I guess I’ll never know. I am happy with the front brake job, I am not happy that they didn’t discover what was causing the noise from the back and I feel a bit slighted that they didn’t seem to take it seriously. Maybe when I need exhaust work done, I’ll go back to Bucky’s but for now I still need to find out what that noise is that is coming from the rear brakes.

I have been using Bucky’s for years with great satisfaction. I however have made the Federal Way location my «home» store even though I live like a mile from the Auburn store. These guys always treat me with respect and not like I’m a dumb woman. They are helpful and get the job done right and quickly.

Have had car repairs, oil changes, brakes and other stuff done to my car there over the years. So far I have never felt as if I had been ripped off. I have found value and fair price for all the work they do. I have saved $ by buying some parts else where and asking them to install it as well. Definitely call ahead and make an appointment if you can, they can get pretty busy.
Side note — they do need to deep clean the lobby and bathroom! Mopped and polished floors would also do wonders for the place.

.5 stars at best. I’ve been to this location in the past and they fixed my fiances car by hand when the power was out from a snow storm at no extra charge. I tried coming for an oil change twice in the past 4 days. Bith days I was essentially turned away. They wouldn’t even give me a time if completion so I left with no service done.

They are unprofessional and rude. I only went there cuz it was the closest place when I moved and my car broke down. They didn’t even try to hear what I had to say about the car or why I was taking it in. They didn’t even look at my car for over 24 hrs. When I finally was able to tell them what was wrong they just argued with me because they didn’t know what an ignition relay was apparently and then told me just to come pick up my broken car. So I had to pay another towing fee. How they are in business is beyond me.

This Bucky’s has definitely either changed owners or managers… It now lives up to all the negative reviews it has. It is stinky, dirty and they are scam artists! I had the same experience as Jon with an Amazon voucher for brake service. They wanted $ 540 extra to do what the voucher said! Luckily, Amazon is awesome and gave me a full refund on both the vouchers I bought (if you think it’s to good to be true… it is!) I also noticed that it used to be really busy and now there is no one there or waiting. I will NEVER be back!

This place is AWESOME! I’ve been there three times (including this morning when my alternator went out!). They’ve been helpful, friendly and quick each time. Couldn’t ask for better service!

Took my 2008 dodge charger by mistake to buckys. I asked what would sound good and they were no help at all, had to make my own decision without any input from the «experts.“All I had done was resonators taken off and tips put on and i got charged way to much, very unhappy with the sound and they gave me used tips that were dirty and dented. Never have had a good experience at buckys. Will not come back

After purchasing the voucher from Amazon Local, I came in for the brake service and was completely misrepresented what services the Amazon Local voucher entitles me to receive. (The voucher advertises $ 59 for complete front or rear brake service, $ 159 value.)
When I asked about the ad on the Bucky’s website, «only $ 49.95… plus tax» I was given a similarly nonsensical explanation as to what it really means.
Upon completion of the service, and after being charged an additional $ 65 for the brake service detailed in the voucher, I called Amazon Local to ask for clarification on the offer. They apologized & agreed I should not have been charged extra for the brake service, and returned the $ 59 voucher fee without me even asking for a refund. They also filed for an investigation of Bucky’s regarding this matter.
What an amazing experience Amazon Local provided, especially compared to the Bucky’s experience I had with Doug.

I purchased a voucher on amazon local for $ 59 for brakes. I scheduled the service. I get there at 8am and they didnt even look at my Acura till 10AM. They were done at 2PM. I also had them change the oil. Oil Change was $ 23.00. So with a prepaid voucher for a brake job and an oil change they still charged me $ 166! Yet on their website theres a coupon for $ 49. I do have an Acura which takes Ceramic so at other places their was a slight up price so I was expecting to pay maybe another $ 50 plus the cost of the oil change. There was a $ 69 brake flush charge! This is the second time I have been here and both times the pricing was very shady. Will never go back.
There was another customer there that was told they got a free oil change becuase apparently their last visit they charged the customer for an oil change but forgot to do it! Really you take you car in for an oil change, they charge you, but they forgot to do it?
I didnt want to make a big scene and rather share my disservice for everyone to see.

I bought a amazon local deal for front or rear brakes. After buying the deal, I read reviews of Bucky’s. I was alittle concerned cause the reviews weren’t great. Now I should of read reviews first before buying a deal BUT I’m glad I didn’t, cause if I had I would of missed out on a good car repair shop experience. I hate going to places to get work done on my vehicle, I always feel I’m getting ripped off & taken advantage of cause I’m not very familiar with cars. It was the complete opposite at Bucky’s, I needed alittle more work done than what my deal voucher covered (I knew I would so no surprise) and they gave me a very reasonable quote for all the work to be done. I left there very pleased with the service and costs. The manager Bob was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place and will be going back for any maintence or repair work for my car.

Thank you Marvin for trying to jump my truck after work! My friend and I were stuck for about 2 hours outside of the super market and my truck wouldn’t turn over. His small car battery wasn’t enough for my truck’s battery. Marvin, you’re customer service is awesome even though you weren’t able to to jump start my truck.

Honestly, this is the simplest job! Got my tires installed at Discount Tires down the street and found out that 2 of my studs on one wheel were bent. So they recommended me to take it over HERE (bad recommendation) to get my studs replaced. Took my car there the manager there said no time today bring it in tomorrow morning. I asked to make sure they will be able to get the parts by tomorrow since I have to go to work and I don’t want to drive with 2 bad studs and one missing lug. Brought it there the next morning and they had to go around places to find the part. Finally got the part but it’s not the same length as my OEM ones. I figured this out just recently when I took my wheels off to put some spaces for my wheels and realized that they put in studs that are way shorter and probably can only thread half of the lug without the spacers I was trying to put in. Before that when I got my wheels powder coated at Les Schrab, the guy told me they put two honda spec lugs on the studs they replaced and there were chances for them to fly off. I’m really pissed off now since I couldn’t install my spacers and knowing that they couldn’t even do a simple job right. I would’ve been fine if they just told me they don’t have the part. I specifically asked to see if they can get the part because I drive a Mazdaspeed 3 and parts for my car is not common. Terrible job indeed

After my experience with Bucky’s I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone. They partially fixed my cars issue (they replaced a computer relay sensor and spark plugs) but most importantly they misdiagnosed my car. Telling me I needed to replace my engine that it wasn’t holding any compression or oil pressure, which I found odd since that was not an issue prior to going into their shop nor was my oil light ever on. The day I showed up to have my car towed, the mechanics had completely drained my battery, adding to insult informed me rudely that I needed a new battery (once again, this was not an issue prior to my car going in) They also left my car pulled apart, never bothered putting it back together. Left my driver’s window rolled down in the pouring rain and since they drained my battery completely we couldn’t roll it up. It took them 15 – 20 minutes to get them to help load the car up and me pointing out my window to get any assistance with it. Once they hooked the car up to a battery charger they continued to tell me I should take it to a dealer to have the window relays checked out. Needless to say I took my car elsewhere to have a second opinion done. Turns out the engine does NOT need to be replaced, but does need a new battery since they drained mine. It’s sad to see auto repair shops like this try to take advantage of people, misdiagnosing their vehicles in hopes of cashing in on it. Shame on you Bucky’s!

My normal Bucky’s is in Shoreline. We had to do a special project on two cars at the same time, and to accommodate one of the people involved I agreed to have the Bucky’s in Auburn do the work.
We were taking performance drilled/​slotted rotors off of one car, replacing them with the stock rotors on the other car. Then on the car having the performance rotors installed, adding Hawk pads, stainless steel brake lines, and a flush of the brake fluid with the good blue stuff.
You have two picky, paranoid guys with their toys looking on. Bucky’s let us observe the work, hand torqued our rims as requested, both off and on. and treated our cars as if they were their own. They did the first swap so the one car could leave while the work was completed on the other car. The entire project was done for under $ 300 using their standard labor rate.
The staff was awesome, funny, and great hosts. I would strongly recommend them.

Nice try Bucky’s. Ever since their new manager took over after Dean left, they’ve been a shop full of crooks.
So I went there for a «free brake inspection» because my brakes slightly squealed when braking. Doing plenty of research on cars, I knew the pads needed replacing at most, rotors machined if it was bad. Not only did they ask to get those done, but also brake calipers, rear brakes, and cleaning. So I asked for them to show me my caliper, and a new one, I wasn’t surprised to see just a little dust was the only difference. Of course I wouldn’t pay 800 dollars.
Even worse I find a coupon online for brake pad service for 49.95 on their website, and he tells me «its only for labor» even though it says that brake pads will be installed. So he get’s on the phone with the «supplier» and I could easily hear him say the price for basic pads were 19, ceramic 25. The worst was when he got off the phone and told me they cost 60, as if I couldn’t hear the other person on the phone. When asking if I could buy my own pads and bring them «yes but then we’d have to charge labor and we won’t honor the coupon».
Took it to Firestone and they said only brake pads needed doing, not 800 worth of stuff. I ended up getting it done for 85 dollars at… a DEALER. Nice try Bucky’s on upselling failure, hope to see you out of business soon.
