Had dinner with a friend there. While the server was average, we were pleasantly surprised to discover from her that Wednesdays from 4−10pm, if you order a meal, you get a pie slice for free. Delicious!

When we first came in we were greeted by an extremely rude RGM(restaurant general manager). She let us know it would be a 20 – 30 minute wait because they were so busy(their were 2 booths being used with 7 people total being served in the entire restaurant). Not more than 3 minutes later a very pleasant young lady came over to us and asked«how many and why haven’t you been seated yet?». I don’t know what changed in the 10 minutes it took to have our order brought out from the time we entered but the RGM had some became this super friendly person almost to the point where someone either set her straight or gave her something that changed her mood? This would have been a 5 star experience had the greeting been better and it would have been a 1−2star had they not attempted to make up for her rudeness. I’ll modify my review based on my next experience visit which will probably be in a few weeks.

Hubby and I stopped in to grab a bite. The gal in front, whom I promptly christened, «Chatty Cathy,» told us they were cleaning tables and would seat us momentarily. The restaurant was half-empty. Chatty kept busy cashing out folks — taking way longer than necessary due to her incessant babbling. Another couple came up to pay and Chatty went into her lengthy chattering and at that point in time, a party of 5 walked in. The party of 5 had to wait about 5 minutes for Chatty to finish up and then one of the men approached to give Chatty his name. She tells him that it’ll be a half-hour wait. Astonished, he looked at all the empty tables and immediately asked to see the manager. Unfortunately, some folks had come up to pay, so Chatty had to deal with them first. Meanwhile, hubby and I are sitting there waiting, wondering why it’s taking so darn long to clean a table. Turns out Chatty was the manager and after talking with the guy from the party of 5(outside), she walked back in. We’re still waiting for them to clean a table — it’s been at least 20 minutes at this point. About ten minutes later, the party of 5 gave up and left. About 5 minutes after that Chatty comes flying up to seat the party of 5. «Uh, no,» I said, «they left and, besides, we were here first. We’ll take that table.» She laughed and said, «No, I was working on getting a table for 5 ready, that’s too large for the two of you. We have plenty of tables for you two.» I’m ready to smack her, thinking, «You have plenty of tables for 2, but instead of seating us(and we were next), you chose to make us wait to accommodate a party that came in AFTER us???» Corporate — are you reading this? How do you think this makes for great customer service? We’re scratching that Shari’s off our list. You want a manager with good people skills, but when she wastes so much time babbling and doesn’t take care of customers, that’s a good reason to find a new manager.

When we arrived we were greeted right away, and it was not long until we were seated. Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout the entire stay so that is a plus. The food, however, is not so great. I got a burger and my boyfriend got one of the breakfast meals. The portions are decent but overall the meals were pretty bland and seemed thrown together. The pies did not strike us as award-winning, either. It wasn’t TERRIBLE, but I don’t think I would recommend to friends or visit again.

I am giving it 4 stars for customer service. I typically don’t go to chain restaurants. Yet, that may change due to the great service. I was greeted by a waitress name Vicki. She was actually off duty and preparing to leave but graciously seated me. I overheard her talking to other waitress making sure they didn’t need anything before she left. All the while she was going home to care for a sick family member. My actual waitress name was Barbara. She was very attentive and helped with my menu choice. I selected a spinach omlett, bacon and french toast. The spinach omelet was very good. The bacon was slightly overcooked. And my french toast wasn’t warm enough. But, that was probably because I didn’t eat it right away.

Shari’s is the Pacific Northwest’s chain version of Denny’s with a little more IHOP to it. Open 24/7, it’s convenient for late night dining when being a night owl or wanting breakfast at the crack of dawn. Don’t expect much. Just expect average food and average service and you’ll be set. This location I went to with a friend for dinner. We had unmemorable service by the waiter — not bad, not good. Our food was fine. This location is better when it comes to being clean and how long it takes to be served compared to other Shari’s. I think of a truck stop in Vegas when I look at the décor here. Food: 3 Service: 3 Parking: 4 Ambiance: 2.5

We had horrible service by Spencer. He took too long to acknowledge us and when he did he did not even offered drinks to start with, it’s like he was in a rush to just take food order. The restaurant was not even busy at that time. He also forgot to provide me with a straw I had ask when I told him we would like to start with drinks. I asked for it twice and when he finally brought it he threw it on the table. The food was alright not too bad, but the service made it an awful experience. Not sure I’d want to give this place another try.

This shit hole needs to be closed down or get better employees. We have had problems with this restaurant before but decided to give them one more try. They served me a heart vein in a pulled pork sandwich!!! Went to the restaurant 12−8−15. Sat down at 6:20PM and was served coffee right away(nice). The server came by 2 times to get our order(we were not ready the 1st visit). We ordered our food, we sat for ½ hour with no food, everyone around us were getting food. Caught the eye of our server, asked her where our food was at — she looks kind of stupid at us, she leaves and comes back with you have no order and there is nothing in the computer. But she remembered taking our order, she just did not put the order into the computer. What is really wrong here is that the management of this shit hole didn’t care either that his wait staff are not doing their jobs. You would think that as a caring server would be right on making sure their customers were happy, this server never did come by and check on us until I called her over to question her. Oh and the restaurant was not busy on 12−8−15!!! Chain restaurants must be doing great business if they can afford to treat the customers badly! WEWILLNOTBEGOINGBACK!!!

I came in here while my car was having an oil change at Walmart. I went with the Pecan Cinnamon french toast. This was my first time in Sharis. Friendly Attentive Servers. My French toast was tasty and a Sugary Fix to start my day. The Price couldnt be beat. And letting me know about the pies when i was paying my check and when its free days for pie was welcomed as well.

Food was cold, after we got our food the server never came back, not to ask how it was, not to give us refills, nothing.

Food was poorly plated and blah flavored. My mom’s hashbrowns were all scraping and scraps and cold! She ordered Eggs Benedict and asked her egg to be slightly cooked more, it was completely hard cooked. Won’t be back.

Pies for days. Late night food rush, understaffed however taken care of. Hot beverages and pie was the perfect end to our family outing. Cheaper to buy 1 pie instead of individuals… downfall, you have to all agree on 1 pie!

Walked in and the hostess(I think she was the hostess) said«I’ll seat you in a minute.» Then proceeded to ignore us, stage menus, walk around and THEN come over and said«I can seat you but…». But what? Good bye.

Federal Way Shari’s has gotten progressively bad over last few years. Slow service, untrained wait people, horrible food. Pancakes taste like chain restaurant food and they serve them with corn syrup mixture instead of real maple syrup. I’m done with Shari’s. :(

I went there today for breakfast, left about an hour ago. Been there a few times and service is always spotty. Food is alright. Today the service was decent. I ordered the stuffed hash brown breakfast with steak. My mom had the same thing with country fried steak. I order my steak medium rare, it came well done. And my mothers chicken fried steak was mushy. When my meal came, my toast has green stuff all over it. I told my waitress, she got me new toast, and it still had green on the crust. She told me it must be avocado, but it looked like mold. She brought another toast to my table, and let me know it was from a new bag. The toast was decent, but when I got my check. I was charged for the toast. $ 2.49 for a small toast. You can buy two bags of white bread for the same cost. For the inconvenience she gave us a $ 5.00 off our meal, but charged us for the toast. It is not my fault that your bread is molded, and I shouldn’t be charged for your mistake. We left unhappy with our meal and service. If I decide to ever come again, it will be a long time. Also if you order soda, the servers water them down. Witnessed it a few times. Stick with water or coffee!

This place is awesome. The Gold Medal Pies are to die for. I had Tropical Coconut Cream and my son had Three Berry they were both delicious. Highly recommend this place if you love pie.

I don’t have a lot to say about this Shari’s, but it’s all good. #1 — The Eggs Benedict… my favorite on-our-way-home-from-the-bar food. It also serves as an excellent brunch. At this particular location, I have NEVER had anything less than perfection(unfortunately, I cannot say that about other locations). #2 — 24HOURPIE!!! This location is half a mile from my house. ANDTHEYHAVEONLINEORDERING!!! It’s almost too much to bear. Thank the gods they don’t have delivery.

I’m a fan of Shari’s, so I’m sure I’m biased. It’s diner food, but even better than diner food. Out took a bit for us to be seated, even though there were empty tables. Once seated, we had friendly and prompt service. My dining partner and I both had breakfast. I had a spinach and veggie omelet and it was really good! My dining partner had a scramble. The food was prepared correctly, according to our dietary needs.

I did not like this place whatsoever. The waitress we had was great, but the manager… I repeat. the manager, was being a total asshole. Excuse my language. We walked in one night and asked«where?» because they didn’t lead us to our table. the manager answered like he was CLEARLY annoyed or being such a smart ass and said«right theeerre.» Way to welcome us on a Friday night. Our watress was awesome and super friendly and attended so our needs. Although, my onion ring wasn’t cooked too well. It was one onion ring, so who cares. Our fruit bowl had rotted grapes, but they were nice enough to take it back for us. This literally was not the problem with dining here. THEMANAGER. Once we were paying at the front, the manager had split our bills, and the way he would cut us off in explaining how we wanted it split us was just pushing it. A member of our group had also said he snatched the card from his hand… uhm how polite of you. I tipped ONLY because of how sweet the waitress was, but the manager and the way he looked and the way he was giving us service literally eaned his crew a low tip. Our other members of the group didn’t feel the need to tip because of his attitude. I will not come back here again all because of such shit hospitality from a MANAGER. I only came here because nothing else was open in the area, I’m glad that was the only reason, but other than that I will not be coming back.

*Ghetto diner alert!* Man, this place is so sad! *laughs* Stopped here at 1 am on my way back from Portland… was looking for some pie… and I don’t know if it was me being loopy or what… but I could not stop laughing at this place! When you first walk in, you are greeted with a Christmas tree. In July. The next thing you see is a fake wreath hung in the center of the room. INJULY. Ordered«award-winning» marionberry pie(my friend) and pecan pie(me). This is pretty sad if it’s award-winning and such false advertisement! The pie came completely dilapidated and sad looking. There was no trace of there ever being a fresh marionberry in that thing. It was complete mess of crust and gelatinous muck. The pecan pie was 10% pecans and 90% gelatinous muck. *shudders* Overall, this place just looks run down and in desperate need of a make-over. But it gets 2 stars because it gave me a good chuckle at 1 am and kept me going until I could make it back home.
