Came here the other weekend. Wanted to check out a new small town and have a drink… which lead me to the white raven. If you love a good spicy chai… you have to stop in here. I also had it with the pumpkin chocolate chip baked good which was nice to pair with the chai to ease down the spice. Indoor and outdoor seating. Careful with the parking slope. They have a punch card.

The house chai is my absolute favorite. There are plenty of vegan options available. I do wish they had vegan shakes though. The store has a divey feel which attracts the regular crowd. On occasion I’ll sit on the back patio or browse the art, but mostly I just stop it, pick up, take out. It can get crowded sometimes. Most of the baristas are friendly. My favorite is the young Irish woman that works there. She is consistently pleasant and kind. Warning: If you plan on spending less than $ 5, bring cash only. Even though I go there often, and bring cash, one day I only had my card and one of the baristas was militant about it to the point I left without purchasing a drink that day. If they had a vegan pastry that day, I might have added that onto the order, but they were out. If that happens, you can go across the street to New Leaf, get cash back, or just buy a coffee beverage there. Parking can be tricky sometimes too. I’d suggest dedicating some extra time to finding parking during peak hours.

Cool spot, but the(drip) coffee tastes burnt and is almost undrinkable. Smells like chai inside, that is probably a better bet.

After living in Seattle(coffee capitol of the west…) I can say this is the best coffee south of there. consistently yummy! It does get really busy and often a small line, so if you’re panties are in a bunch over waiting a few minutes, you may not be happy. If you can enjoy the low key atmosphere and want really good tasting coffee… you’ll love it. They also have awesome Chai and a huge selection of non-dairy milks to choose from.

Heard amazing things and wanted to see for myself. The second I entered I knew it was a mistake. Dirty, with an odor I can only describe as moldy meets fake air freshener. I heard milk screaming from the barista, not the sweet tsk tsk sound of bringing it up to temp while adding air but the sound it makes when you are burning the taste out of it. At this point I decided not to order but my wife got an Almond milk latte. It was awful. She threw it in the garbage after a single swallow. The cashier was nice and friendly and the only reason this place gets two stars. Save your money and go ANYWHEREELSE.

Great non-dairy milk options(hazelnut, hemp, coconut in addition to soy and the other usual ones). Love the breakfast burritos with black bean and sweet potato. Friendly service, and they open early. I’m a fan!

Good coffee shop. Good service. Good tea. Odd items for sale. I liked that there was a ‘no technology’ mandate, by which patrons were meant to abide. But I saw some cheaters in the back room, and I scoffed, somewhat audibly, at their failure to comply. I enjoyed my visit and my tea at the table in front of the shop.

I wish this place was larger… Sometimes, I wish it was a tad faster… and it can get a bit loud… but, the people here are awesome. The product is great. I can’t fault them because they are busy. All in all, this is my favorite coffee place in the valley.

I think I cracked the Davinci Code to their famous chai latte. I’m not going to give away all of my culinary secrets, but I will say that the cloves and oranges really make this chai stand out from the crowd. Came here because it’s know as one of the best secret places for chai from the locals I’ve talked to. They even bottle and sell the chai for you to take home for $ 10. I told my friends it’s like bottled chai gold. The flavors of this chai are sweet with cinnamon, a smooth taste of soy and spices and of course that interesting orange note at the end of each sip. I highly recommend checking this chai out if you’re in the neighborhood. This isn’t your ordinary chai, that’s for sure!

I stopped in for a bagel and was impressed with the different breakfast options. Pastries, burritos, fritatta all looked delicious! My bagel was toasty, and there was a cute guy in line behind me. I’ll be back!

I love this coffee shop! They have the best chai lates I’ve ever had, and there is no sugar added. They have gluten free food, and a huge tea selection. There is free WiFi and nice staff, just don’t accidentally ask for a «grande» late lol :)

I will be the millionth person to rave about the Chai! It deserves all the praise. The place is cozy and friendly — I am happiest sipping my Dirty Chai Latte, snuggled up in the corner with a good book.

I really like the coffee I get here — the espresso is strong and not burned and they make a nice café breve and also have a good selection of pastries. Love the natural light in front and the abundant seating, don’t love the copious amounts of flies that are sometimes inside. Also they have a very nice gift area with a really cool rotating selection of mugs and jewelry. Edited to reflect the owner’s note: White Raven does in fact do some recycling behind the counter, which is awesome! I do think it’s possible to put out two or three kinds of bins in the shop and have folks use them — Planet Fresh in downtown Santa Cruz has four different bins, each with a simple note attached so folks know where to throw their waste. As for the«compostable» water cups, PLA is not easily composted except in special commercial composting operations which ensure a high temperature for a long time. If the composting infrastructure is not in place to recover the bio-material from that corn-based cup, it will sit there for decades or centuries, much like an ordinary plastic cup or fork. These items should absolutely not go into the trash, but should be composted, or failing that, recycled. Thank you for being on top of your Unilocal page, White Raven!

Of course I had to have the chai. Best. Chai. Ever. Spicy yet buttery with so many distinct flavors. This is probably the best crafted chai I have ever had. Even the vegan loaf cakes were surprising. This place is a perfect little hole in the wall so don’t blink because you might miss it. Definitely going back for a second cup today.

Going by the chai(which is a big warm hug from the inside) and the friendly service, I give this place full five stars. Totally worth a u-turn on a busy street to get there after a long gorgeous hike through the redwoods with one of your bestest friends for a cup of delicious chai.
