I love this place! The family that owns it is super cute and friendly! I always have the delicious chicken fried steak. My boyfriend and I love to come here for breakfast and dinner. All of our meals have always been delish. Never a disappointment.

As a pool, three and a half stars… four if you’ve had several drinks. As a bar, three stars, four if you’ve had several drinks. As a restaurant — 2.5, no matter how many drinks you have.

Took the family that was visiting from back East because we heard good things but the food was not good at all. Across the table, things seemed to be reheated, cold or tasteless. It’s too bad because this would have been a place I would enjoy returning to.

I often come here for breakfast and the food has been excellent every time. It’s usually not crowded and the service has been great. The place could use some remodeling but there are nice scenic views of the river and swimming pool.

This place! WOW! If you like getting big bang for your buck, this is the place for you! The food was absolutely perfect, huge portions, super tasty and the drinks are a real drink, nothing waters down or skimped out on there either. Wait staff was super friendly. I can’t wait for my next meal there.

Honestly, I love this place. Ive been comming here for the last 5 years and I’ve always had a good time. The back patio has a great view for breakfast or just a couple beers. The location acts as a music venue as well as a restaurant and bar. The music varies, but usually sticks to classics of all sorts. Some of the best cover bands I’ve ever heard have played here. Food prices sit a bit above average but the quality of the food you get is well worth it! You simply cannot beat the breakfasts here. If food pricing is an issue for you, they also have their $ 5 dinner nights where you can get amazing fillers like some of the best mac n cheese ive ever had. Summer time you can go swimming in their pool, which is great if you have kids. Honestly you cannot beat the combination of what The Trout Farm has to offer.

I want to give this place 3.5 stars, arggggh. The layout of the place is weird. When my family and I walked in there was live music which a lot of people were enjoying, but I felt like we were crashing a very casual wedding. Other than that we were greeted immediately and picked our own table on the back deck. I was fairly impressed with the menu. It was extensive and there were awesome options. I ordered a bloody Mary(of course, what’s new?) And hands down the best bloody I have ever had. I would go back just for the bloody’s. The food was okay. My mashed potatoes were bomb, the salad was great, but the dressing tasted like soil. The mac n cheese was so so and the garlic fries were mehhhh. I didn’t hate it, I didn’t LOVE it, but I would return :)

I am a Felton Local and have been coming for years. New ownership has been a real disappointment. Food quality has really deteriorate as a result of the changes. Server seemed disconnected? Will avoid Trout Farm until next inevitable ownership change.

Well, first of all I’ve been coming here for years and I wanna say first that I do enjoy the food most of the time; the burgers are good and the mashed potatoes are really good… lots of other things are too. This is not where my low rating is coming from… My problem with wanting to continue to come back to this place is a bartender that I feel repeatedly and relentlessly sexually harassed by every SINGLE time I’ve gone in there. I want to say his name is Antonio(pretty sure). He’s worked there quite a while and I’ve been going in there more often in the last 2 ½ years; in that time(from the very first day he came into contact with me, sitting minding my own business trying to eat peacefully) he was all over me like some slime-covered nightclub goer. If I’m with other people he usually says something under his breath to me in a low creepy voice so no one else can hear(as he’s walking by) and he’ll kind of circle/hover inconspicuously and then proceed to look me up and down from a distance. BUT. the real problem comes when I go outside to get some air. Sometimes it gets INSANELYLOUD in there for such a small place, I get easily over-stimulated by the noise and chaos and I love to go outside to take a little breather and look down at the creek or the pool when it’s all empty outside. This is when he ALWAYS takes the opportunity to follow me out there when he knows I’m alone. He has gotten WAY too close to my personal space and tried to touch me(sometimes He’d try to put his arm around me) and say creepy suggestive things. I’ve mostly tried to ignore him and brush him off or just walk away before he gets the chance to do these things, but last night I went there and I just had an epiphany that I don’t have to even try to ignore him… he just doesn’t need to be working there anymore; cause I am SURE I am not the only one he creeps out on. Last night I had enough; I went outside cause it was crazy loud and crowded and I had my little 4 year old niece with me who wanted to follow me outside too and run around. He came to the area i was sitting in and said he «missed me» in a suggestive way and then said he was worried about«getting in trouble with me» and saying that I was«too pretty» and that he doesnt want to end up getting in trouble for doing something” and I was wishing at this point that my middle finger was the size of a surfboard, like how dare he suggest that I would DO something with him… or maybe he meant that he was worried I would end up doing something like this that would get him fired. IDK… but he started mentioning(after noticing that I was looking fondly down at the river) that he’s the only one that has the key to the gate that leads down to the river and he’s the only one aloud to go down there and saying if I wanted to go look at the river he could«come and pick me up tomorrow» and bring me there… WTFFF??? I am not even on a first name basis with this guy, so for him to suggest that I would let him come to my house and then proceed to get in a car with him is absurd and straight up laughable. After that I abruptly said«NO» and walked back inside, waited for him to go back to his friggin job behind the bar and then I went outside again to get the fresh air I was dying for. This Time I sat by the pool… and not 8 seconds go by and he had come ALL the way around the other side of the restaurant to get at me from over there(by the snack shack/pool area). I’m basically just done. They’re gonna lose some paying customers(myself AND the people I go with) if he continues to work there… OH and p. s this slimy urchin also has a wife and kids.

Ok, when I suggested this for lunch, I was expecting a yuppish type joint. This is not. It is a nice place for lunch, especially if you aren’t into the fried crap platters at the nearby Roaring Camp Railroads. Lots of food on the menu and it was hard to narrow it down so we opted for a lot. My favorite were the onion rings. Definitely fresh batter and really good. I think I ate most of them. Whoops. Also balanced it out with the spinach strawberry salad that was super fresh and crammed with strawberries. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, which wasn’t particularly stand out but decent. The kid got French Toast and that smelt really good. Looks like a stocked bar, and I bet its fun at night.

A surprising array of menu options and quality for what looks like generic American style food. We only stopped by for lunch, however the veggie burger proved to be vegan(maybe skip the honey mustard dressing), and came out well presented on a focaccia bun — certainly one of the better veggie burgers I’ve had anywhere. And the strawberry salad wasn’t too shabby either — certainly didn’t need the dressing. The beer wasn’t entirely to my taste(English-style ale), but that happens — they have quite a few more. Only four stars, because despite the bewildering menu, only a couple of not week-marked vegan options. As a unique note, lots of people were coming in from outside from the pool in various states of dress to get drinks or food. Just the deal when it’s over 100 outside, and just the sort of middle of the road joint where this just fine to do.

Came here with my team after a long day of ziplining. This restaurant is interesting. It has a bar, dance floor, outdoor seating and even a pool. If you want to sit, lay or swim in the pool area, you would need to pay to do so. Otherwise you can sit in the restaurant or their outdoor seating. I did enjoyed this place. The service was great and their burgers are really good. We started off with the appetizers: garlic fries, chicken wings, and bruschetta. The salads aren’t bad either but I would recommend ordering a burger cause you can tell its fresh and they cook it medium rare which makes it so juicy and tasteful!

wanted to like this place, but Meh. Where do I start. Went in and sat at the bar to eat and drink. Wanted a glass of wine, but changed my mind and had a beer. the bartender seemed pissed off. LOL. OK. So then, we order food. The bartender announced«no fries». OK… weird. So I order Trout. he comes back and says, we dont have trout! LOL. OK. So I ordered prawns and the mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was very plain… like out of a box plain. Prawns were good. So then I ordered a glass of wine. NO wine glasses around LOL. WOW. so he dumps some in a glass you would serve soda in. Call me a snob but I was horrified. So the overall service and food choices were not really that good. VERY poorly run. This is not a new place so I do not have hope. Too much $$$ for the overall experience.

Sitting by the pool with my children at their homeschool pool party. Great music, the bartender Antonio makes great margaritas, everyone’s very safety conscious. A great time! Recommended.

I wanted to try this place since I live close by and had been hearing good things about the new owners(and there have been a lot of them over the years). So I went in for breakfast this morning. It’s still tired and ratty. Torn chairs. There is no hostess so getting seating is confusing. Staff appears and disappears. Service was friendly but amateurish and seemed improvisational. The worst thing is that it took 30MINUTES to cook 2 eggs. That’s insane. On the plus side, the food was fine. Good size eggs. And pricing is competitive. But with ticket times like this, it is easier to head over to someplace like Rockys Café, or anywhere that has their head in the game more than these folks.

Nice small family owned American spot. The food is a solid B+ and the service is great. The pool out back is nice to look at and even better to use in the summer. BTW order the trout it’s good!

Had an awesome salad here yesterday. All this needed rain was giving me cabin fever so we decided to have lunch at ‘the Trout.’ As usual, the food was great and so were the drinks ~ thanks, Antonio! Someone previously wrote about the old school charm and I agree: this establishment is a gem! The staff and owners are always friendly and accommodating. Never are they rude. The owners were very busy yesterday, but did take the time to say hello. So why the negative reviews? I dont get it… IMO if you had a bad experience here, it may have been your attitude in what I believe is a relaxed and laid back bar/restaurant. I’ve seen the same smiling faces here over the years. A Felton treasure. Stephanie

I can’t enough of the charm of this hidden gem. Yeah, it’s old school but that is the attraction. We brought my husband here for his father’s day steak meal and it was worth the trek off the beaten path. The food was excellent, service was excellent, the live music was charming, watching my husband and kids tear it up on the dance floor was priceless. The surroundings of the redwood trees, the swimming pool, old lodge décor… It makes me smile every time. If you come here, watch out! It might steal a place in your heart too.
