Why only 3 stars? This is a remarkable establishment. My husband and I shared the beef bourguignon which was a delectable dish, perfectly executed. It paired well with their smooth yet robust Zinfandel. The brownie dessert was a great way to end the meal. And how great is their bread?! They make it themselves.

Enjoyed the restaurant and its ambience. I’m not sure what the past reviews were about but we had no problem with our two breakfasts that were based on our stay at the Redwood Suites. A nice amenity for guests of that hotel.

We ate here twice. The food really was good! Fresh and dessert was amazing. Staff was attentive and I would totally return. We ate elsewhere tonight and the comparison made me realize how good it was lol My only complaint is we stopped in for a drink at the bar and it was THEWORST midori sour I have ever had. 80% sour(which I think was just straight lemon juice) and 20% midori. So sour I only drank half, it was rough. My boyfriend had a White Russian, was all cream practically. Other than that great place:)

Went here for Mother’s Day. First of all, the Mimosas come in all different size flutes but you pay the same price. My daughter’s was twice as big as mine. Minus one star. Our poached eggs were as hard as hard boiled eggs — all 6 of them! We asked for new ones and after 5 mins he brought us 2! Still hard! Minus another star. My daughter’s fiancé got an omelet. The mushrooms and spinach were raw. Seriously, how long does it take to sauté spinach and mushroom? That’s not the worst. The cheese was cut up in little squares in the omelet, not melted. Minus another star. And I’m still upset about the mimosa. Minus another star! Don’t go! Next time I will try Shaw’s down the street.

Had a very nice dinner last night. The dining room is beautiful. The food was very good. Had the Fish and Chips, as well as the roasted chicken. Both were prepared perfectly. The staff was friendly and attentive.

They are a lovely venue and have a beautiful bar. I really enjoyed the lemon drop I ordered. The food was very good and service was good as well. We ordered the cheese board, it was amazing !! Huge pieces of cheese and roasted garlic, fruit. Loved it. They also serve bread before dinner and it was very tasty. I am looking forward to my next visit.

The perfect t-shirt souvenir from this place would be, «I waited 2 hours and all I got was this shitty salad?». Our waiter started off friendly but immediately launched into a story about how several of the menu items were sold out because they were shutting the restaurant down for the week for repairs. Drag because what we wanted was sold out but oh well. Our party decided on the weekend special of the filet, a dinner Cesar salad, and the lobster bisque. The ONLY reason for 2 stars and not 1 star was that the filet was decent with good presentation. It was definitely not anything spectacular but just ok. The bisque would have been ok if they hadn’t dumped an entire container of cayenne pepper in it. It was so spicy and overpowering that I had no idea that it was actually bisque. The Cesar salad was a JOKE. It came out on a tiny plate with wilted iceberg lettuce and red cabbage with a few Parmesan shavings on it. My dad was a little taken aback that this was the dinner salad(costing $ 11). When the table next to us were brought their salads and a Cesar came out looking like an actual dinner salad my dad asked our waiter why his was so small and without any eccoutrements to which the waiter replied, «oh sorry, yeah there should be croutons or something. Our salad person is a bit off tonight. I’ll take some of the cost off of your bill». To which he then brought the bill with absolutely nothing taken off. This dinner was a total joke. Not only was most of the food terrible but the«nice server» peaced out for most of the dinner(even though the place was empty), filling our drinks only when asked several times, never came to check how the food was, etc. Not to mention that it took over an hour to even get the shitty salads. Probably the most disappointing $ 70 and two hours I’ve ever spent for a meal in my life.

Went here with family for Christmas dinner. It was a set menu with several options of side dishes and main entrées. We all chose the prime rib, which was delicious. They ran out of a few side dishes but made up for it with an amazing fried artichoke appetizer. They were super busy but still managed to fit us in with pretty last minute reservations and all of the staff were very nice and accomodating. I look forward to trying this restaurant again when is not a major holiday.

Had the worst, most overpriced Thanksgiving dinner here. Chef over salts everything, seasoning tastes very artificial. All reviews are showing VI is consistently inconsistent. I live here but won’t be eating here again.

My wife and two kids had a wonderful Thanksgiving at the VI Restaurant. We always eat out for Thanksgiving and the Victorian Inn was a beautiful setting to celebrate this holiday dinner. The restaurant was well decorated throughout and they had their tree up and a beautiful fireplace inside, too. My wife and I had dinner here once before and thought this would be a nice place to have dinner for Thanksgiving while we were staying in town. The tables were well spaced and the service from beginning to end was excellent. We had a reservation and seating was prompt when we arrived. There were several choices from the menu and my wife and daughter went with the prime rib which I tried and it was juicy and very tasty. I went traditional with turkey, and it was well prepared and the gravy graced it well. I enjoyed the soup and everyone else had salads which were nicely done as well. The dishes for adults and kids were same size, but the price for children much less at $ 19 which made it reasonable to take the family. My son who is five just had a side dish of mashed potatoes for $ 3. A full service bar and my double Jack on the rocks was abundant with the right spirits to enjoy this holiday dinner. A great place and dinner setting and well prepared holiday dinner accompanied with the right ambience to celebrate Thanksgiving. They had plenty of crayons for the kids and coloring paper of turkeys to color while we waited for dinner.

I ordered a Cobb salad with dressing on the side, about 1 ½T of dressings. I asked for more dressing which they brought. What they didn’t mention is that they charge $.50 for the extra dressing. When we got our bill, sure enough they did charge us for the dressing. I complained but it didn’t do any good. The manager said that was their policy and too bad. This experience left a very bad taste. We won’t go back again.

A terrible dining experience. My companion had the ribeye. The meat was lousy. Served with a twice baked potato that was literally black on the outside from being burnt. I had a seafood pasta, big, big mistake. There was no sauce on the pasta, it was so dry it was clumped together. The scallops were so slimey that I could barely swallow the first bite. I ate the four prawns. When out server asked«just mediocre?» My reply was no, it was way worse than that. He offered me dessert on the house, which I accepted. After waiting over half an hour. We paid another server and on our way out our server asked if we wanted our dessert to go. A little late. No, this place was not busy, our waiter had only a couple of tables so there were no excuses for the slow, at times non-existent service. $ 108 .00 — 1.5 hours wasted

we had lunch at this restaurant and the food was amazing. Caeser salad and Artisan Macaroni and cheese. Be prepared to wait for a long time as they are not staffed sufficiently. A quick lunch took and hour and a half. Love the ambience, we will go back. we want to stay the night there soon. Never heard of this place, but I loved it. Went into the jewelry store and the man was not friendly, but maybe he doesn’t like his job.

Been meaning to leave this update for a while now. Last time we dined here(2÷14÷15) it was Valentine’s Day & I don’t know what happened but they completely dropped the ball from the moment we arrived. Took forever to be seated despite our reservation as the owner had to go flag down a server instead of just seating us himself. We only got to order one drink bc our waitress never came back to check on us & every other server that walked past ignored us. We then waited *drinkless* & starving for the next hour and a half before our food came out. When it did I ordered another drink which never came & the food was terrible. Steak was overcooked, potatoes were cold & veggies under steamed. Haven’t been back since which is really too bad because this was one of my fav places to eat prior to this horrible experience. Needless to say it totally killed the vibe of the whole night & we left more than unhappy.

Awesome food and excellent service in a beautiful ambience. Definitely not the typical American cuisine, which we were surprised and very happy to find. The prices are a bit higher but justified by the amount and quality of food. Seeing the menu and the setting of the restaurant you might expect a «fancy, luxury restaurant’ experience, which refreshingly was countered by our very friendly, casual waitress, who made us feel like we stepped into a friend’s dining room. A beautiful experience and a nice end to a day of driving.

Beautiful building with tasteful décor. This resturaunt made this New Englander feel perfectly at home! The fried artichoke hearts were perfectly cooked with a light crisp batter. The baked brie was delicious with just enough sweet notes. The salmon cakes were moist and flavorful. The lamb was cooked perfectly and juicy, with peppery kale. the mac and cheese was s delicious! The cheese was thick and flavorful, possibly the best mac and cheese I’ve had! The service was very good, our waitress was very attentive and we had multiple people offer to assist us with whatever we needed. Would go out of my way to go back again.

We stayed one night at the Victorian Inn and had dinner at VI. Dinner was dreadful and woefully overpriced — more expensive than food in San Francisco and Los Angeles. We could not understand how they had the nerve to charge the prices they did for their horrible food and almost non-existent service(two wait staff on a Saturday evening). The food was under cooked and poorly presented and the restaurant itself looked like it was in need of a total refurbishment. The furnishings are very cheap and dingy, as well — it’s a joke and an insult. Skip this place. There are other options in town that won’t charge an arm and a leg for bad food, bad décor and bad service.

Another amazing meal at the VI. Jason conjured up a delightful quinoa vegan dish and for my meat loving hubby, duck ravioli. Fabulous. With 48 hours notice, the chef can do just about anything, and his last minute vegan concoctions are consistently wonderful too. Amy and Mishka are charming servers!

I’ve come in quite a few times hoping it will improve and it doesn’t! Whenever I go, I receive very poor service — they take forever to wait on my table. I understand if they’re busy, but I’ve been in there where there’s just my table and maybe 2 – 3 others and they take just as long(I even had someone claim they were swamped as an excuse for being slow, when they clearly weren’t). I have to say, their clam chowder is amazing and I’ve ordered a sandwich there that has some pretty good aioli on it — but the food tends to be on the greasier side. The first time I went there, I had a BLT and it was so greasy, I couldn’t even eat it so I sent it back. There was so much grease I started to feel sick after a few bites. This is the only restaurant I have this issue at with the service and excess grease… the atmosphere is nice and every now and then there’s something really good on the menu… but the service is so terrible. Over it!
