Pizza Shack Fernley

Place has finally closed. Good Riddance!

The pizza shack must have changed ownership or something. Went and the toppings were less and it doesn’t seem like the same ingredients. Use to be amazing but now it’s just OK. A real bummer.

New owner… not hospitable at all. Not sure what his problem is, but he’ll lose repeat
business being a rude SOB.

My family and I stopped here on our way to Yellowstone. We are pizza snobs and were kind of thrown off by the building when we pulled up. The owner was hospitable and greeted us when we walked in. We tried the hot chicken wings first, they were good. The pizza came out and it was very good. The crust was perfect and the sauce was tasty. I would go back, can’t imagine a better pizza place in Fernley.

Pizza is good and service is good as well.

Pizza was Terrible! Customer Service is Worthless!
Pizza wasn’t good at all because of the overly strong taste of yeast and when I called I was told «Well I don’t know what to tell you, your probably just trying to get a free meal.» If your food sucks, fix it! My kids love pizza, but not one of them would eat it. So with that kind of customer service I refuse to give repeat business to such a poor quality establishment.

We are the type of people who like to support local businesses. We will always go to the local guy before we go to the chain joint. I’m sorry to say that in this case, we will probably be going back to Round Table or the Pizza Factory.
We called in our order to-​go. 1 medium pizza with pepperoni, linguica and olives, and an order of 12 buffalo wings, hot style. First I want to say that the wings were excellent, and if we had just ordered those this review would have been MUCH better. Unfortunately we got the pizza too. What’s really disappointing is that it looked great! The crust was cooked to perfection, the cheese was nicely browned and bubbled, and there were a nice amount of topping on it.
Then we took a bite. And boy did the taste not match the description. It just didn’t taste right. I took each part off of the pizza to see how they tasted individually, and the olives and cheese were fine, but the pepperoni was kind of soggy, not crispy like I like it. I don’t know what kind of linguica they use, but it was awful, and the sauce reminded me of canned tomato paste with no seasoning. I’m not sure but the crust could have been frozen.
The inside of the restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly. We may go back sometime to try their burgers, and we will definitely be back for the wings, but I don’t think we will do pizza there again.
*Edit* We went back to try the burgers and ended up with charcoal patties on a bun topped with burnt cheese. Yuck!

I have passed this place hundreds of times and have always meant to stop and check it out… I have heard and read mixed reviews as I am finding is typical. So we went here last night and we had a great meal. We ordered the fried zucchini w-​ranch, pitcher of beer and a Taco Pizza. All were good. The crust on the pizza was very good and the ingredients were crisp and fresh. The staff was friendly and we talked with the owner about the restaurant in detail.
You really have to try it first hand and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was moderately priced, the restaurant was clean, the beer cold, staff friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed ourselves.
We have been back maybe 15 times and have not been disappointed once.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great pizza!
I really mean it, this pizza is crust perfection with ooey gooey toppings. I always appreciate local businesses who go out of their way for locals and visitors alike. It’s housed in a small building and not flashy but when the food is good, does that really matter?
I’m confident to say that I’ll be back when I’m in town visiting family again. It will be urged each time, how’s that?

My wife is Italian, so this review may be a bit «harsh» since she and I know great pizza.
We went there and ordered a pizza. It was gross. Awful, actually. The crust tasted like that paster stuff from middle school… that we made volcanos outta, really. The lady at the cash register appeared to be suffering from a meltdown or depression or something. She could not answer our questions, she did not want to be there… something was up… though it is not in my training to determine what the deal was with her.
Back to the «crust» of the issue, though: the pizza sucked! We ordered a medium size cheese pizza and we both managed to finish one slice each. We took the rest home in a box and as we got outta our car at home we threw it into the trash bin outside.
If you’ve gone and you like the service and the product, cool beans! I am just use to getting pizza from many places around the country (Connecticut has the best!!) and this «dive» has «sank» in my opinion!!! The best pizza in this town: PAPA MURPHY’s!
