Awesome little BBQ joint. The tritip and pork ribs were great. The Mac salad was perfect too! Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area!

Trip tip is good and chicken is a hit and miss. Sometimes the chicken is a little dry and other times it’s on point. I really don’t care for the bbq sauce I think they need to try and make a different sauce. But it’s no deal breaker for me.

Awesome BBQ… We will definitely be back. We had chicken, ribs, tri tip, and hot links between all of us. Coleslaw was on point! Super excited that we found this spot. The service was very friendly and welcoming.

Had the Philly, it was messy but delicious, chips were good. This place is family owned and friendly.

This place I have been driving by for years and haven’t stopped but I did today and am very glad I did. Had the pork ribs and they were very good. Very tender and great mild smoke flavor. Got both the regular and spicy BBQ sauce and both were good and complemented the ribs well. I will suggest getting ribs dry with sauce on side because the ribs without sauce are just as tasty. Very small place most people got there’s to go but glad I ate in house. Glad I stopped and will be back. Great staff that was friendly and engaging. Made you feel like you were at home eating your meal.

Driving through Fillmore and had the urge to eat, then remembered seeing the bbq place sign from a prior trip. It’s definitely a hole in the wall, don’t go if you’re expecting fine dining ambience. I’m talking counter and fast food tables, maybe 5 of them. After getting past that, food is good. Ribs were smoked and fell off the bone, my husband didn’t even use the sauce because he enjoyed the flavor. I had the tri tip plate, but would have preferred the meat a bit more pink. I’m not a med well/well done fan. I heard someone behind me ask for med rare, so next time, I’ll do the same. The beans that came with the meal were very good. I’ve never had Pinto beans made that way. I believe they were the chili beans. The potatoe and macaroni salads were fine, as well, but the cole slaw was just ok –too watery.

The boy at the counter was soooooo hot. He made me wet from the moment I saw his face. He practically was teasing my with dick again. I want to feel it. I loved the ribs and it was amazing that I got to focus on two hot things at once. Talk about dinner and a show. Anyways he was hot and Mr. Martinnez makes nice sauce

I was up here doing a location scout Saturday with my friend. It was his idea to come here. I really do like this place. I’d go 3 ½ really. First, the name… simple. You’re almost tempted to ask them what they have there. Second, the choices… simple. Combo is VERY basic. Just like I like BBQ, simple. I got the hot sauce. Not hot. Tangy. I think they mean white folk hot(or in my case, my old Taiwanese mother hot). You get two small sides and garlic bread. Very good price at $ 9.50. That’s another thing, the combos are simple. No $ 6.96, no $ 5.45. SIMPLE. The way I like it. I got the pork ribs. Really tender, fall off the bone. Nice and… yep you guessed it… simple. The ambience isn’t what you go there for. It’s to stuff your face. As I watched my friend do(the filthy animal gnoshes with his stupid mouth open, to which I reminded him food taste better with your mouth closed… promise). I recommend it. In fact, when we do shoot there, I may push to have them cater.

We were out shopping and had the proverbial munch spot, so we decided to go to The BBQ Place, and it was really good. We had the Tri-tip sandwich which was huge, and served on toasted garlic bread, the spicy BBQ sauce was hot, but tasty(not just hot for the sake of being hot). The people working were polite and helpful. We definitely will be going back.

I ordered the chicken breast sandwich for $ 7. The chicken was thin, dry and covered with a strange sauce masquerading as BBQ sauce, served in thick garlic toast. INEDIBLE.

If Mexican and Bar B Que met one night and they hit it off and then they started to date. And eventually Mexican proposed to Bar B Que and after a wonderful ceremony and honeymoon, they had a baby, this place would be it. Its good and weird. I ordered a tri tip combo which came with bbq beans and macaroni salad. The meat was good but the BBQ sauce was a crazy mix of classic BBQ and birria broth. The beans were supposed to be BBQ beans but they tasted like regular pinto beans with red coloring. It wasn’t bad but it was strange. As far as the restaurant is concerned, there is no ambiance. Get you mexican BBQ to go. There’s no A/C so its real hot.

Tucked away next to the B of A ATM, the BBQ Place never looks crowded, as you withdraw your cash with a line of people behind you, you get a sensation of Oak Wood smoking, then it draws you closer to the menu board outside, only to want to come inside and investigate, the atmosphere simple and quaint and the smell gets better, the smokiness enchants one to say«Yes» to Tri Tip but pass on the Macaroni Salad, but indeed pile on the heaping helping of Chili Beans.

This restaurant has been a welcome addition to Fillmore. The BBQ Place is serving up: tri-tip, chicken, beef ribs, pork ribs and hot links. All of the meat has great flavor and is cooked well. They serve your typical sides: potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw and baked beans. Each of them are pretty standard, with nothing really standing out. The garlic toast though is buttery and delicious. The service can be pretty slow, but the prices are reasonable and the food good, so it’s definitely worth the wait.
