Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Very good! Cajun fries are exceptional! Also, they are accommodating on the burgers… not only are they available without a bun but you can choose how they are presented… they can be wrapped inside lettuce or served in a nice aluminum bowl! Toppings are free and plentiful! The peanuts are a nice touch! Delicious and fresh meat, made to order! Friendly and helpful counter staff.

Expensive for fast food, but have you been to McDonald’s or Burger King lately?

Their burgers are super delicious! But bring that fat wallet… I got a «smaller» burger, no fries and a large drink to go, for the low, low price of $ 7.00! Yowza!

I was a little surprised to find out Findlay was picking up a Five Guys. It wouldn’t have been my first guess, as I watched the old Video Connection being remodeled for months. Am I excited about it? In the sense that Findlay’s filling its empty storefronts, yes, but otherwise I’m just OK with it.
As far as the franchise goes, ambivalence is the word that comes to mind. Many people love their fries, which I do not. I think the peanut oil does nothing for the fries and they go overboard with the quantity. However, I find their burgers delicious. That’s the only reason I go to this place.
My visit to the new storefront was on par with visits elsewhere. They had their typical barricade of potatoes, with complimentary peanuts at the beginning and end of the line. A whiteboard near the cash register announced that the day’s spuds came from Shelley, ID, as if it mattered to anyone in Findlay, OH.
Everyone was in a good mood behind the counter, which was a positive. However, I felt a little sticker shock, when I had to pay $ 11.49 for the meal in the picture. Are you kidding me? I pay less at non-​fast food restaurants, and that includes the tip. I don’t ever remember it being that expensive! Hachi machi!
As you can see in the picture, I did order fries. Why on Earth would complain about their fries and then order them? The reason is I gave them another chance. I figure I could just be wrong about something so beloved to many, many others. It turns out I’m still not sold on them. That seems to be a positive though, as it’ll cut down on the bill the next time around. I might even start ordering those «little» burgers that are on the menu. That’s a bit much for a fast food joint.
