Edge of Park

Day trip up from Green Bay for something different, awesome little shop prior to the entrance to peninsula state park, 9 ½ mile ride. Staff and service was great. Lots of options on bikes, helmets provided. Would highly recommend!

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon in Door County and we really wanted to use the opportunity to see some of the sites. Previously, we visited the State Park via car and it wasn’t all that exciting, but it was FAR BETTER on a Moped. Although it was a bit cold when we went, the staff was friendly, gave us a tutorial, and even lent us some gloves to ensure we didn’t freeze :) All in all, the two hours was a great time! I highly recommend Edge of Park for an excursion thru the park.

This is a wonderful place. The bikes are in perfect shape. Dan and his wife, owners, were so incredibly helpful to my family. We changed our minds a few times regarding tandem bikes etc., and they were super patient and helpful. They even had gloves for us to use because it was chilly. They made our experience very memorable.

Overall more pricey than the cycle shop across the street for comparable rentals, I guess the difference is due to the convenience of not having to cross the busy highway in town.
They seem to be the only place to rent mopeds on the bay side of the peninsula, particularly in the Gibraltar area. A 2 hour rental seemed to be enough time for us to explore the state park at our leisure.

Dan and Rachel are awesome new owners to EOP. We bought bikes from them and when I needed help months after, they were there for me. They and both very nice and I wish them the best. I have always liked EOP, and recommend EOP highly. Dan and Rachel are great new additions to the Door county experience.

New owner Dan was helpful and gracious when we visited Edge of Park this spring. We rent bikes from this place every year when we visit Door County, but the new owners have made the place better than ever. The store looks great, they’ve bought some new bikes, and the service was very friendly. I highly recommend Edge of Park to anyone looking to get the most out of their Peninsula State Park experience.

Located steps away from the Sunset Bike Trail of Peninsula State Park, this place was just what we needed. Not only was there an adorable chocolate lab puppy gallivanting around the shop, but we rented bikes quickly and for a great price, and then we were off on the 10 mile trail. They even warned us the first mile or so of the trail was very flooded and showed us a different path to take on the map. Had a great time and appreciated their great service!

I was so disappointed in this place. I came here with my in-​laws and husband to moped through the state park.
The girl working inside informed us on pricing, had us sign waivers, and then ran our credit cards. At no point in time did she ask about our experience or mention attire. So I thought okay we will practice and be on our way.
Instead, we were greeted by an uptight gentleman who made up his mind about me driving a miles before I even stepped onto it. He asked if I had other shoes because mine were unsafe. Nowhere does it state any information regarding dress on their waiver or inside the store. Then, he found out I had no experience on a moped. He stated that made him nervous. He hadn’t even seen me on the moped or finished his safety speech yet. Once he finished his relevant and needed speech, we got on the mopeds. It was all downhill from there.
My fatherinlaw practiced first, and did just fine but still received a little coaching. My mother-​in-​law felt as though she was being treated like a child, and she had experience! When my turn came I revved the engine too fast as this was my first time on a moped. He got quickly annoyed and said I hadn’t listened to him. I said I had and I just needed a little experience. He provided no further instruction ans told me to reverse and try again. I did, and he threw on the stop and said I wasn’t safe enough but I could get a full refund. He also told me to go home to Chicago and take a class. This is a vacation spot, people don’t take classes to miles once.
When we went back in we had to wait for all of our checks to be refunded. Nobody even offered any alternatives to us.
I would recommend checking out the segway tours that meet in downtown Fish Creek instead.

After being given a five minute «training» session for their scooter rental, a member of our group who has rode scooters in the past as well as dirt bikes and motorcycles was not allowed to ride. I believe that due to our age, we were discriminated against. I say this because when they were contacted again we were referred to as «kids». I am 27 myself and everyone else in my group is 24 and up. I stopped being a kid a long time ago. This business turned away almost $ 300.00 of my business because of a five minute training session. I will never give them my business again and I come to Door County at least twice a year. Do not use this business if you are a younger person, they will turn you away! We will find somewhere else that actually wants our business.

These people go above and beyond to ensure a great riding experience. Friendly, thoughtful and prompt service!
They’re located steps away from the bicycle trail in Peninsula State Park. They’ve always got bikes — (I’ve seen hundreds in their rear garage.) Included when you rent are helmets, locks, maps, and even a backpack if needed!
The best part about this place is it is family owned and operated. As of this year they’re celebrating 40 years and still going strong. If you need bikes or mopeds in Door County– there is only one place to go!”
