There’s good reason this place rates a 5. The pork chop was 2″ thick and tender. Very tasty. Even the kale taste great. They gave us a taste bud opener and a Carmel with popped aramanth after the meal unexpected. You will not be disappointed.

Almost didn’t go here because I waited to make a reservation and by the time I did the next available was 8:30 but really glad I did. The thing I love about DC and this restaurant is no exception is the friendly people and service I was in Napa last week and had some great food but the service wasn’t half that of the restaurants in DC. The couple that tag teamed out service were great in every respect. I checked out the menu online so I had set my sights on the veal schnitzel and my wife on the spaghetti and meatballs. Mine was perfect they do a great job with their sauces and blending their flavors. My wife was equally happy with her choice. Great place cool atmosphere good food and nice people this will be on our list when we come back. But I will call earlier for a res

We discovered Whistling Swan Restaurant a number of years ago while on vacation, always viewing it on a pedestal of fine dining – a northern retreat with creative food. We had stopped going for a time due to knowing the menu well and not wanting repeat entrees. Again, on return, the menu is new to us, fresh ideas with high culinary style. We had the roasted beet and apple salad(delightful) and the playfully name ‘Ewe Calf to be Kidding’(blue cheese, fig jam and cracker). These introductions to our meal were perfect: fresh, local, creative – melds of good taste. Entrees: Trout for me. Duck for my partner. The preparation could not have been any more thoughtful or enjoyable. I can’t say I memorized past wine lists, but the wine selections have not changed in terms of quality. Very notable, very enjoyable. A wonderful revisit for us.

I’d have loved to give The Whistling Swan all 5 stars but unfortunately, the service we received left a little to be desired so I couldn’t rate it a 5. The food, however, was on point and delicious. We had the marinated olives — a great starter; I had the steak which was delicious and my husband chose the prime rib sandwich which was also a good choice. Neither entrée was«knock your socks off» amazing but both were well seasoned and tasty. We probably won’t be back on our next trip up to Door County only because there are so many choices and we weren’t super impressed with the service.

Wow — we loved The Whistling Swan. We traveled to Door County for the first time and sort of took a stab in the dark on what place to stay, and we were not disappointed. The staff were so very helpful in recommending adventures, shopping and dining in the area. The room was also nice — a lovely B&B to stay at in a quaint town. The breakfast served for inn guests was delicious and perfect for us — enough to fuel us for the morning! We also dined at The Whistling Swan one evening for dinner. It did not disappoint. I had the flank steak, which was great, but my boyfriend had the duck and it was simply perfect. The kitchen switches out the menu with seasonally fresh ingredients. While we were there, they also started a Happy Hour — perfect to grab some better-than-bar-food-snacks before a later dinner. We will certainly return to The Whistling Swan the next time we head to Door County. This place is a must!

If we came up here to Fish Creek more than once a year I would not review the Swan. We love this inn and restaurant so much that I am already hesitant to share it with any but close friends. I make our reservations each year six months in advance. Not because they require it, just to be sure. Sit at the bar for a bit, and enjoy a Hinterland beer on draught or explore the ever-changing wine list. Watch the hipster staff scamper around and banter with guests to a soundtrack that may be the Black Keys Pandora station. When you get around to eating, starters are creative and seasonal. The chef is a master of pairing cheese with a jam, honey, or other little«extra». Don’t miss it. You’ll also receive two little amuse bouche surprises — at beginning and end. I won’t ruin it for you. If you don’t suck, buy a round for the kitchen with your dessert. Don’t worry, you’ll want to. And finally, stay away from here over Labor Day weekend. That’s my spot at the bar.

This was a fantastic restaurant. I was looking for a nice dinner experience for my fiancé and I and we were not disappointed. The staff, food and ambiance were wonderful! I loved how the menu changed every day to accommodate local options. I look forward to going here again!

This one of the more première(and expensive) dining experiences in Door County and well-worth it. I made reservations for a Wednesday at 6pm in mid-June, but didn’t need to as it was us and two other groups dining. During the peak tourist season of July and August, you would be better off making a reservation. We had their fish tacos(excellent), beer from Hinterland(the local brewery – not so hot), an arugula salad(with delicious ricotta), but the best dish of the evening was our skirt steak cooked in a delicious sauce with potatoes and bacons. It was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend coming here. The dining experience was pleasant and I especially enjoyed the additional items including a chilled dill pickle soup, homemade biscuits and a spoonful of homemade caramel for dessert.

Looooove the swan. Beautifully appointed, and the staff really does goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The inn is centrally located, and was originally built in Michigan. They pushed it across the ice one winter! How amazing! Many hotels in the area cost the same, but linens and furnishings are cheap and outdated. My room looked like a pottery barn catalog. My only gripe, and it’s a big one was that wifi was nonexistent. I had to go to the lobby to connect, and it disconnect in my room. Not a big deal, but I’m here for work, so a little frustrating. I’ve eaten here many times, and the food is always exemplary. This visit, I just got dessert to take to my room. A chocolate tart with raspberry coulis and a toffee gelato. OMG, quite possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had in Wisconsin. Blown away.

We went in March in the winter season and had an awesome time as one of only three tables. The waitress Elly was amazing. The food was excellent. We had the Brussel sprouts, arugula salad, and scallops. Then they brought popovers and salted caramel free of charge. I highly recommend for winter season!

We were up in Door County for our anniversary and decided to have our anniversary dinner at The Whistling Swan. The cocktails we had were incredible, as was our food. We were brought buttermilk biscuits and a delicious, creamy gazpacho to start the meal. We ordered a risotto with snap peas and butternut squash for an appetizer and it was so comforting. For dinner I had the prime rib and my boyfriend had the seafood stew. We were both satisfied with our meals. At the end we were brought spoons with caramel and amaranth seeds. An amazing bite to end an amazing meal!

The food and the accommodations ROCKED. FOOD– Awesome. I had the Cabbage Savoy and, being vegetarian, I was totally impressed with how much attention and love they put into this dish. To start we had the best gazpacho I ever had then came the main course: Roasted cabbage sprinkled with almonds on a bed of spelt pilaf with tomato sauce. Finally, surrounded by snow peas. The flavors brought a smile to my face and the extra crunch from the almonds and peas was WAY fun! It’s clear that they have creativity in the kitchen. ROOM– We reserved Suite #3: It was off the hiZZy awesome! Having the extra room was great, especially since we were there 4 nights. The bed was beyond comfortable so we enjoyed several naps in addition to very sound sleeping at night. We especially liked how quiet it was. SERVICE– Everyone is there is ACES and made us feel WAY comfortable. They have high class service with a down to Earth feel that makes us excited to plan our next visit and stay with them!!!

great ambience great service. Best meal we’ve had so far in door County. The diver scallops and chicken are outstanding. kids had amazing Mac and cheese — chefs made special meals for kids and we(the adults) clearly loved it as we kept taking bites of their meals. dessert of chocolate mousse was savory and the sorbet was tasty and not too sweet. perfect ending. we are going back.

The Whistling Swan is one of the best restaurants in Fish Creek. It’s more of an upscale place with a nice atmosphere. The fireplace in the entrance and dining room was a very welcome feature on the cold Wisconsin night. For dinner I tried their pork chop and though it was excellent. I was sure to save room for dessert so I had their corn cake and it was amazing! They also have an extensive wine list. If you are looking for a nice restaurant where you can treat yourself to a great meal, this is your place.

We loved our experience here about a month ago. I realize I am a little belated in writing this review, but I didn’t want to waste my good comments on friends only. Unilocalers, check this place out. My wife and I went on a Thursday night a few weeks ago. Its Winter Season, which we love because all of the tourists aren’t around and we had the place to ourselves(a few other couples in there). Enjoyed the brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Delicious. Service was great and our meals, both fish were outstanding. Good work and well worth the accolades. We will be back and will highly recommend to friends.

Five stars. Great décor, great service, great food – everything cooked to perfection. They serve Hinterland beer. Amuses-bouche before the meal(soup shooters) and after the meal(caramel on a spoon) add to the experience. I really cannot say enough good things about this place. Gourmet food in Door County is hard to find; gourmet food AND good service makes this place a downright miracle.

Room — -nice. pillows sucked. mattress not bad. shower weird. window above the door that allowed light through it… priceless. Thus the one star demerit. Food — -The joint gives you a free breakfast. It was the greatest continental break I’ve ever consumed. They give you a list the day before, you can have as much or as little as you want. Wow… lights out. If they fixed the damn windows than I’d give them the star back. Overall, it was nice. The staff are a bunch of cheeky hipsters, housekeeping may have doctorates, but despite of that it’s centrally located and worth your dime. Unless, of course, your name is Scott Walker and then you should find other options.
