Old school husband and wife shop … Small, not fancy, just outstanding… Make sure to try something with spicy tuna and pause for a moment to take in the splendor of the color and texture before consumption… The man cares deeply about what he presents !

The sushi is very good but the price was changed 3 times on me. Each time i went back and ordered the same thing the price went up $ 1.00. When I questioned it the owner got argumentative. I don’t need to be insulted when I spend my money freely and with good intentions. Have your prices posted clearly.

The Place is Small but the Quality of Rolls and Fish is truly outstanding. My Daughter loved her 18 piece sashimi combo B. She could not stop bragging about how good it was. I had the Dark Spider Roll, spicy mango tuna roll and Eel Avocado roll. All amazing.

Let me start by saying this place is small. Don’t come here for ambience or a romantic date. I ordered edamame it was good but portion was very small for $ 4.50. Ordered miso it was good and reasonably priced. Ordered sushi b(7 random pieces and a California roll) and fish was cut very thin. Meal does not come with soup or salad which is usually complemented with all sushi meals. You may leave here hungry…

Sushi is always very fresh and delicious. Service isn’t the best simply due to the fact that the space is small so there’s only one sushi chef and one server, but if you have time then you shouldn’t worry. They also have additional parking in the back since Main St can get busy at times.

Delicious, fresh sushi. Love the food and the sushi chef. The place is small so take out is probably a better option. We had been to their previous location and was so happy to find this place. Highly recommend it.

Excellent fresh food and wonderful service. The fact that it’s right on Main Street in Fishkill makes this very convenient! We will be back!

The best sushi in Dutchess County is back! Domo Sushi on Main Street(Rte 52) Fishkill is the reincarnation of Sushi Ya formerly in the ShopRite Plaza in Fishkill, owned by Mr Song. I cannot express how much I missed the freshly prepared, delicious rolls and sushi during the intervening period. I went to every sushi restaurant around(and there are many) but could not find anything close to what can be found at Domo Sushi. My favorites are the Rainbow Roll and any sushi or roll with yellow tail tuna. I’ve traveled the world and the quality is unbeatable ANYWHERE. My girlfriend loves the fact that she can create her own roll and Mr Song will accommodate. He does have some ingredients(like Mango, Plantain – also chosen only if they are the best quality) not on the menu so don’t be afraid to ask. Domo Sushi is mainly take-out but there are 2 nice tables for those who wish to eat in. And the staff is super friendly and always interested in what they can do to delight the customer. This is a guaranteed happy experience for any sushi lover!

Domo Sushi is the new sushi business run by Mr. Kioan Song who ran Sushi Ya in Fishkill for 13 years. He has down-sized his business, deciding to focus primarily on take-out sushi. The new location has only two tables which each seat four, so if you intend to eat in instead of take out your dinner you should call ahead to reserve one or both of the tables. The menu is strictly sushi and miso soup — you can no longer get their delicious green salads or Korean food, and you must bring your own beer, wine, etc. But if you are looking for the very best sushi in Dutchess County and among the best in New York State, do not discount Domo Sushi because of the size of the business. Mr. Song is still preparing his meals using the freshest and tastiest sushi he can obtain(for example, when we asked if we could get an octopus appetizer, he told us how he tried to get some from a new supplier and it was not up to his standards, so he would not serve it), so your meal will be exceptional. Mr. Song’s mackerel(saba) is the best I’ve ever had — I use saba as a primary factor in determining the quality of the sushi because its preparation is so challenging that many restaurants(such as Toro, just up the road from Domo Sushi) do not even offer it. If you are into sushi rolls, you are in for a treat at Domo Sushi — they are outstanding. I enjoyed the yellowtail dragon roll and my wife the eel and cucumber roll, but the menu of rolls is quite extensive. I’ve had others in the past and found all of them to be top-notch. We eat sashimi, not sushi, so the flavor of the fish is not masked at all by rice, vinegar, wasabi, etc. The sashimi at Domo Sushi continues the tradition of excellence that Mr. Song established at Sushi Ya. I tried other sushi restaurants while Mr. Song was opening his new venue and they all paled by comparison. You will love it. And with the smaller venue Mr. Song has reduced his prices to pass along some of his rent savings to his customers, although in my opinion the value he assigned to his product was already quite fair. But I did not argue with the smaller tab and neither will you! The venue is small but clean, fresh and well-lit. It is almost exclusively a take-out enterprise, so expect as much when you walk in. The new website has not yet been totally scrubbed of photos of the old location, so if you see images of a large dining area with multiple tables on the site please ignore them — they are from the Sushi Ya days. Whether you call in a take-out order or sit down to have your sushi there you will receive excellent service from the very attentive and friendly staff and a meal that you will thoroughly enjoy. Let Mr. Song know that you heard of him from TripAdvisor by telling him that the«mushroom doctor» recommended him to you. But don’t take the last of the saba!
