It was Friday night and my wife and I were making our way back to Tempe after a long exciting weekend in Monument Valley and Page Arizona. As we approached Flagstaff we started looking for a good dinner option. We knew Flagstaff has some hidden gems and wanted to try something outside of our normal routine. The Himalayan Grill was absolutely amazing! We shared two dishes, the chicken chau chau and chicken tika masala. Make sure you try the bread as well. If you like garlic go for the garlic Naan. It is easy to notice how all of the staff take pride in their cuisine and culture. They are happy to help you with recommended dishes if you are not familiar with the menu options. The Himalayan Grill was so good we will probably drive up again for a hike this summer. We definitely know where to go for an amazing meal!

Not sure what happened to this place. Used to always visit this place after our ski trip to flagstaff. The gravy flavors have moved away from the authentic feel to a broad tomato gravy. I would recommend getting a spicy fish otherwise the only taste is of Cooked tomatoes. Try the vindaloo. Definitely a recommendation.

Love this place. The food is fantastic. The service can be a little slow sometimes, but you come here for the food. So good!

Great flavors, slow service. Chicken was dry but we were otherwise satisfied with our food. I’ve had better samosas. I would recommend getting one of the platters because there is a lot of good variety and they are great for sharing.

Food was fantastic! I would have given 5 stars except they were out of several of their Indian beers, service was SOOOO slow(it took 15 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink order) and our server was in such a hurry that it almost felt like we were inconveniencing him. Luckily, the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Vindaloo were super delicious and made up for the restaurant’s staffing issues.

We enjoyed our experience for the most part. First time we came they burned our food a bit. Second time we did buffet. We’ve had better indian food, but we’ve also had worse. Overall a decent dining experience. Aloo ghobdi, noodles, tandoori ck, rice, and egg roll were our favorite. 3.75 rating.

We had the garlic na an, chicken vindaloo spicy, and lamb seeck kabob. Everything was excellent and the service was great. You will have to wait a while for your food because they cook it by order but it’s well worth the wait. Enjoy !

Pathetic service and rude behavior. Please choose a different place.

Everything but Indian food — Should be a tag line. We go in to have dinner around 8pm and find that no one cares to greet even or take down your name and tell you about your expected wait(granted we went during the weekend — shouldn’t one be staffed?) After 30 mins I literally call a man(who happens to be the owner) and ask him if we can get some seat. My name gets written on a post-it(mis-managed — names were written in random order). We get a table after another 20 mins(close to 9 pm) and place an order or simple Paneer Makhni, Tandoori Roti and some Tibetan style noodles. The food comes in after another 30mins 1. Roti were as small as possible and as thin as they can be more like wafers 2. Paneer was burnt(I mean charred) 3. The noodles lacked any taste 4. The gravy was more like gooey stuff… Some come here if you want to take some«Indian» food which is nothing close to it.

Flagstaff Day 2 our search for food took us to this amazing place called Himalayan Grill. I was so thrilled to find some Nepalese cuisine. It was almost closing time but we felt very welcome. The service was excellent as was the food. The staff is friendly and will walk you through the menu if you need any help. I highly recommend the Thupka it’s a Tibetan bowl of goodness(soup with Noodles, herbs, spices) a main course in itself. You can choose Lamb/chicken/vegetables. The Chau Chau(Tibetan pan fried Noodles) is another specialty that should not be missed. The chicken Momos are my personal favorite(steamed dumplings with a filling of vegetables and minced chicken served with a spicy dip/chutney) They also have a Lunch buffet that i can’t wait to try. It is so rare to find Himalayan cuisine far from home. It is the ultimate comfort food that one craves on cold winter evenings. Cheers!

This place was convenient & the service was good but the food was so-so. It seemed like it was just reheated & I was worried I might get food poisoning. It was way overpriced for what you get. It was a disappointment & I will not likely return.

I would highly recommend this restaurant, it is worth the stop. We have been eating here for years. The Rogan Josh, Lamb Vindaloo, Lamb curry are outstanding and they will adjust the level of spiciness to your liking. Our 6 y.o. twins have decided this is their favorite restaurant in Flagstaff. They have the Chicken Takhani and the Shrimp Takhani, which is similar to Butter Chicken. The Takhani sauce is absolutely the best I have had, perfect for dipping your Naan in. They also have a great lunch buffet as well. The atmosphere and ambiance makes the meal even better. The frosting on the cake is their service. Unless it is really busy or there is a large group, you can expect some of the most attentive service. By 6pm on weekends the place is usually full, so I would recommend to call when they are open at lunch for a reservation.

Went to lunch here and was seated promptly with my wife and infant daughter. We asked for a high chair and a menu; we received neither. My wife grabbed a menu and a high chair(which was filthy). The server there was more worried about the buffet and having clean tables than serving the actual customers. Finally, after flagging him down, I wanted to order something from the menu, and was denied service. Apparently, the cook was too busy dealing with the buffet then they were with the menu items(would take 30 – 45 minutes to cook). So screw it, I ate the free naan while my wife had the buffet. She had several items off of the buffet and said they were delicious. The naan I tried was as thin as a cracker and didn’t tear. I was disappointed in the service, the cleanliness of the high chairs, and the free naan I tried. I won’t be back here but my wife would like to try it again.

We’re in town for our honeymoon and thanks to Unilocal we found this amazing place! The service was friendly and prompt. Our water glasses never got empty which I appreciate. The best thing of all was the food! This picture was AFTER we were finished we’re happy to heat it up and have again.

My family and I got the chicken pan fried noodles, a Tofu dish, a chicken fingers appetizer, and garlic naan bread.(I don’t remember the actual names of these dishes). They were all really good; the spices and herbs were a real treat for our taste buds. The tofu dish was a little too spicy for my wife and daughter but the owner was kind enough to make us another order even though we already ate half of it. Service was friendly and responsive. Atomsphere was casual and relaxing. Prices were reasonable. I would definitely go back.

We ordered the lamb samosas and the Tibetan chicken noodle soup. The lamb samosas were good, hot and came with a good yogurt sauce. On the other hand, the Tibetan chicken noodle soup kinda tasted like instant ramen with chicken and veggies. Maybe the noodles were overcooked, but I was not impressed. Maybe I should have ordered a different entrée, but I was just passing by flagstaff, so I probably won’t be back.

Delicious lunch buffet!!! Came in from the Grand Canyon hungry. We were happily seated quickly and got the buffet. Everything I got was delicious and very flavorful. Nothing too spicy but very flavorful and bright. Naan bread(to order) brought to the table immediately. I would suggest the buffet at lunch for a great variety for you to try a little bit of everything. Delicious.

This place is great! I always had great service when going here, even when they were slammed and the food was amazing. They always made it spicy enough for me as well! I loved it! This place is great for vegetarian meals and I have not gotten sick off a single meal here ever, and neither has my family who are vegan and vegetarian as well. I highly recommend!

Stopped in here after driving in for the night, and on the way to Grand Canyon. We read the reviews, both good and bad, but decided to give it a try. I was hesitant about the customer service and taste, since those were the main complaints on here it seemed. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala(a dish favorite), Himalayan noodles(pronounced«chow chow»), and the Himalayan naan bread. The man that was hosting and serving seemed to have a lot of responsibility, so he was quick when he came over, but always brought anything we asked. Overall, no complaints from me. The food was quick(there were about 7 other parties there), it was as I expected with large serving sizes, and it was delicious! Also, the Himalayan naan bread is definitely recommended.

It takes about 20 minutes for naan to be served after ordering. Another 15 – 20 minutes to wait for the beverage. And these happen when the restaurant has about 60% occupancy. We were starving after a long day traveling, and this is a good place to test our patience while being starved and thirsty. Rest room is a mess. The waiter placed menus on the plates while seating us. Gross. The health department should be called.
