We had a great evening last night(Friday 27th) tasting local AZ beers at Hops. Our bartender, Jay, was extremely knowledgable and friendly. He knew all about the breweries on tap and had apparently been to most of them. What a great Flagstaff destination, thanx Hops & Jay!

Without a doubt the best brew pub in Flagstaff. Amazing knowledgable staff. Tremendous variety of taps. An absolute must stop as often as you can! Even your 4 legged friends are welcome. Don’t miss it!!!

Between the seating, the unassuming open space, and the hallway with the water fountain in the back, I feel like I’m drinking in a classroom. An art classroom, full of chalkboards and small, fragile furnishings. There’s a tiny stage, reminiscent of something one might find in a cafeteria. Fortunately, the stage is a setup for groovy, local music, and the boards are used to list the awesome, extensive craft beer selection. When school’s out, Hops on Birch has all the makings of what I love in a dive bar. My mind was blown by how low the prices were for some of these brews. It was blown even more by all the stuff I’d never heard of. Once again, the Flagstaff beer scene is proving itself the be the most eclectic, the most dynamic, simply THEBEST in Arizona. Being one of the best non-club options to socialize and mingle that night was a bonus as well. They really know what they’re doing, and I can’t wait to return!

All of my buddies and I frequent this bar, and the staff is really awesome, they know all our names and have great advice for when you aren’t sure which beer to get. The dog friendly environment is awesome because the dogs get to have fun while their owners have fun as well. The selection is constantly changing and always a great place to go for a beer or two after work or on a Sunday while watching football. Only thing I’d change is getting new dart boards because they are getting a little worn, but even that is not that bad if you throw the dart hard enough. I would definitely recommend Hops for anyone who loves good people, good fun, and great beer.

I’d rate it 5 stars if they didn’t play the music so loud that the person next to you has to shout to be heard. When you can hear someone cuz the music ain’t so loud, there’s dogs in there, which is cool. Good beer.

Went to see a friend play, bar was dirty. Bartender made us get our drinks from the bar, really dude there is like 6 people here, and you cant walk ur ass from around the bar and bring me my drinks. Whatever I left a nice tip, but I will never go back. It really sucks because I’m all about supporting local. They should rethink the staff.

Hops on Birch is hands down one of my favorite hangout spots in Flagstaff. Their rotation of beers on tap is pretty decent and every time I go, there’s something new. The vibe is very relaxed and great for catching up with friends. I love this place!

A chill bar that offers a good selection of local craft brews. You can bring your dog inside too! Super friendly staff. It is also attached to a wine bar that is dog friendly as well. What?!! I couldn’t be more happy to have stumbled upon this gem!

LOVE this place. Best service EVAH. So cool to come in and feel like family! All bartenders(Jesse, Jacklyn, Alan) kick a$$, but ask for Trevor(you’re lucky if he’s wearing his bow tie) for AWESOME service.

Favorite bar in town. They always have a great large selections of beers available and it is a wonderful atmosphere. Hops is perfect for lovers of craft beer. The bartenders are hit and miss though. Most are incredibly nice, but every once in while you will get one who seems less than thrilled to be serving you. In the past, Hops was always more of a local favorite, but in recent years it has become a little too crowded on weekends for my taste… but what else can you expect in a college town? Hops is my favorite haunt in town and that is due to the great selection of beer, the atmposphere and the fact that they’re dog friendly.

Atmosphere: It is a bar. There are tables and bar seating with an area for a band to play music. There are a couple dart boards set up as well. We arrived at about noon on a Sunday so the entire bar was empty. Eventually a few people trickled in. There is a board that consistently updated with the current beers on tap. There is only a hand held menu that offers more information on the beers on tap such as alcohol content and IBUs. Product: The reason for going to this place is that it offers patrons a chance to sample numerous craft beers from around the US. If you are looking for a standard bar the offers, hard alcohol and bud/miller products then this is not the bar you are looking for. Please move on. But if you are like me and wish to sample numerous different styles and flavors of beer then this is a great place to go. The bartender actually offers small samples of the beer before you take the plunge and order one, which is a nice touch. Service: This is what sealed my rating at 5 stars, perhaps it was because we were the only ones in the bar for the majority of the time that we were there. We had a great conversation with the bartender Alan and he provided wonderful insight on each beer before letting us have a sample. He was friendly and made us feel comfortable. Conclusion: We will be going to Flagstaff more often(this was our first time there). I do plan on going back to this location when we are back up there in a few months. I would send anyone who is looking to try different beers in a nice environment to walk on in.

Love Love Love this place! Love that we can bring dogs, love the hoppy hour, love the bartenders. Would be nice if they topped it off with great food, but they stick to what they’re good at and let you bring in food from nearby restaurants, so works for me!

Tons of delish beers on tap, always something new to try. Service is great, Trevor is awesome and always helps me find a beer that I will enjoy. There’s a ton of board games + a sweet area to play darts. I’ll beat you …

The bartender was attentive and so helpful. They had a huge selection and she helped us navigate all the interesting choices to find our perfect beers. She offered us tastes of anything before we made a commitment to a full pour. It is laid back, people just chilling enjoying some great craft beer taps. The taps are always changing so by the time I tell you about our favorite picks they will probably be gone, but you can look them up elsewhere. A stand out for me was the, Four Peaks Arizona Peach. This may be too sweet for some people but it was perfect for me. I can go between an Imperial Stout to a fruity beer for difference and contrast. Arizona Peach tasted like peach pie! If I lived here I would go back all the time. We felt welcomed and encouraged to ask questions.

This place has a wonderful atmosphere or is built after the pubs in England and has that local vibe. It was built in 2912 but it still has an older feel. The bartenders are casually dressed which could be good or bad. I wish they at least wore brewery shirts or hops shirts but they wear whatever they please. The beer selections is vast with 28 beers on tap. You can always find something you like. My only complaint is I wish they had a bit more local brews. They only have the worst historic beer(cucumber beer) on tap. No mother road or wonderlust or anything like that. I love that they support local artists though. There is open mic nights and local artists paintings on the walls. They are also(in true flagstaff style) dog friendly which is wonderful. They have a great little outside patio area which is wonderful on nice days. :-).
