Smashburger

Not as good as other smash burgers. Give you smaller portion of toppings (mushrooms rosemary) and overcooked our patties. I found some black, crispy matter on my burger, it is definitely not edible. My truffle mushroom burger only had about 4 tiny mushrooms on top, and smash fries had like minimal amount of rosemary on top. The buns were also quite hard.

My mother, and I ate lunch here today. I ordered a big, truffle mushroom swiss. My only complaint, and it is the same complaint I have each time. The ammount of mushrooms. I don’t think I have ever had more than 4 little half slices of 1 MUSHROOM! Other than that, it is definitely one of the tastier burgers that you can get from a fast food joint. They also lose another star this visit for the size of my moms large smash fry. We intended on sharing, but it was a super small order. I will be back as well as recommend to friends.

The building is nice & clean and the service is good… BUT I was expecting the burger to be great and I was pretty disappointed. I had the Mushroom and Swiss and there was no flavor. I had to put ranch on it so it wasn’t so plain. It’s a step up from a fast food burger but I’ll be sticking with 5 Guys. One thing though, their French Fries are great!

This was my first time here. I immediately noticed that they did in fact have a small selection of «micro» brews. Four Peaks, Sierra Nevada. That kind of stuff. All canned or bottled, no problem. A beer with a burger is good to have regardless of the type. The guy behind the counter was a great host. I told him it’s my first time and he ran through the process for me. I decided on the Truffle Burger and was glad I did. Not only did it come out really fast but it was laid out for me to put more stuff on if I wanted. I’ve always hated having to tear apart a burger if I want to add mustard or something. The fries were okay. Just basic fries. The burger however was full of flavor! The truffle mayo was savory and delicious. The burger was great. They may have had a cold spot on the grill because one corner of it was a little on the rare side. Other than that, I don’t know what people are complaining about. This place is spot on a great fast fresh burger joint. Would be a full five but I gotta ding the explicit music I could hear in the kitchen. I love music, but there’s kids in and out of here. Turn it down a little. At least so it can’t be heard out front. I will most definitely be back again!

Always a favorite place to go if I can find one in a place I’m visiting. The salted caramel shake was DIVINE!!!

Honestly 2−½ stars would be more accurate, but the phrase «Meh, I’ve experienced better» absolutely applies.
Went here for lunch today with my sons. The greeting and ordering was great, if not exactly memorable. We got a seat and waited for our meal, which came in reasonably short order.
The burger was okay. I had the truffle mushroom swiss. Couldn’t taste any truffle in the mayo (which is where they allegedly put it), and the burger was… okay. Nothing spectacular here. Cooked properly, a little juicy, it tasted like a burger cooked on a flat iron grill. The egg bun was soft, held up well, and was tasty. The smash fries were dripping with oil (they should have been tossed in olive oil, not drenched), and aside from the fact that the fries were all under 2 inches long, they tasted very good.
Altogether, we have a 3 – 4 star meal here. Here comes the problems:
The restaurant is clean, but only because it is new. I observed no fewer than 5 sanitation and food handling issues while sitting there. In one case, a worker put a bucket of ice (which was likely filled while sitting on the floor) on a table, then on the counter next to the soda dispenser, and finally on top of the ice tea container/​dispenser. The cross contamination from floor to eating surfaces… unbelievable. In another case, a worker cleaned a floor (someone spilled a drink) with his towel, then wiped down two other tables with the same towel without rinsing it out. In a third case, an employee wiped the debris from a table (including napkins, drink lids, and food bits) onto the floor, then kicked it under a table before walking off. Finally, one instance of not washing hands before returning to work after using the bathroom… I know this place is new, but these workers need serious training in food handling and sanitation. It will not take long until we have bugs and rodents, and food poisoning, at the rate they’re going. For this, I knocked them down a notch or two. It would be 1 star if the food weren’t as tasty as it was.
Summary: enjoy the food, at your own risk.

Good but not impressed, it is just a little better than your average fast food restaurant. I got the classic smash burger with garlic fries. My mother ordered the sweet potato fries and thought they were delicious. We had to make some last minute changes to our order and they were very accommodating.

Loved the food and the service. It all tasted wonderful and came out very quickly. We will definitely return here on future trips.
My husband got the gluten free bun and thought it was great.

The BBQ, bacon, and cheddar with crispy chicken and garlic, rosemary fries. Amaze balls.

The first thing I noticed walking in was the smoky mist of grease hanging in the air. Gross. Well at least the horizontal surfaces were all very clean.
Fast and friendly service and nice cool air conditioning earns it an extra star, but the food I had was just depressing. 1 star for my meal.
I ordered a black bean burger with smash fries. The «patty» for this burger is actually just bean paste slapped on a hot grill until it burns a thin skin on both sides. By the time I was halfway through, it had fallen apart beyond recognition as a sandwich. The smash fries were pathetic. They’re ordinary potato French fries, only somehow worse. They were completely bland. Hardly even salted. No amount of seasoning could have saved them though, on account of how badly they were saturated with oil.
I don’t think I’d come back except maybe to sit comfortably while Jimmy John’s delivers from next door. Yes, I’d rather eat that cold, no-​frills, fad-​food than eat at Smash Burger again.

We stopped here as we were traveling through AZ to the Grand Canyon. We took an exit off I-​40 and didn’t know that this was there because they aren’t listed on the sign on the Interstate. We pulled in a parking lot to eat someplace else, but then saw Smashburger and decided to try it.
Parking was a little hard because a few restaurants share the same lot and it was lunchtime.
I liked that it was pretty fast service and had good quality food. I wanted something healthy since we would be sitting in the car all day and didn’t want grease sitting in my stomach. I got the spinach and goat cheese salad with chicken and it was very good. The portions were big enough to fill you up!
Other people in my party weren’t as concerned about the grease so they got a burger and fries and they looked delicious!
The staff was friendly and the restaurant and bathrooms were clean. If traveling through again we would stop back!

Had the Truffle Burger. I literally only tasted butter. So disgusting.

This place was awesome. I was excited to see a smash burger and flagstaff. I’ve heard some people have bad things about this place but I loved it. Amazing customer service, speedy food delivery and the food was just delicious. I got the avocado club burger and it was phenomenal on the egg bun. I also got the sweet potato fries and again delicious. Fresh and it all tasted wonderful. Can’t wait to come back again.

Been here twice. Had the avocado club burger and the truffle burger with the smash fries and chocolate shake. Burgers do have grease, but still tasty. Fries are good, worth eating. Shakes are all made with vanilla haagandaz ice cream and syrup for flavor. They’re good, not too sugary. Service was friendly and fast, even when I had to send the avocados back twice because they had brown spots and lines. Told the waiter I wouldn’t serve him rotten looking avocados if he came to my house. Finally he came out with nice looking, ripe avocado slices. We decided we prefer mama burger better, larger burgers, more food, but smash burger is a nicer place to sit in.

Went here today after I established that the food was good but I guess it depends on who is working cause after about a 15 min wait for 4 burgers and 2 kids fries my burger was way under cooked my wife’s chicken tasted slimy witch would tell me it was under cooked my kids burgers were cooked ok tho just check your burger before you eat it or you might be sorry

I went to Smashburger a couple days ago with a couple friends since it is new to Flagstaff.
The customer service was excellent. The food was prepared correctly and tasted delicious. The atmosphere inside was modern and fresh! The only reason why I gave this visit a 3 is because the cleanliness of the place was not in to par. The soda machine area was sticky, not stocked, and I found a couple hairs in the lemon container. It just grossed me out after the hair thing.
I would definitely come back again though and try something else.

Ordered a custom burger on two separate occasions: Sauted Mushroom, Grilled Onion, Blue Cheese, Bacon, and Truffle Mayo… Both times they «forgot» the bacon. The first time I thought it might have been an oversight, but apparently I am doomed to not have bacon on a burger here, even after paying for it. Very disappointing.
The Fries and Onion Straws are a bit on the greasy side, they are tasty, but could stand to be a little less greasy.

The service was speedy for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by this. Classic Burger was tasty and I loved the egg bun and Smash sauce. The sides are large enough for 2 people to share. Onion straws were really good too with Smash sauce to dip in.
This is where the rating drops to three stars. The fries were soggy and the sweet potato fries really were not appetizing! We usually love sweet potato fries but there was something odd about the taste of these. Also, it is pricey for the type of burger place it is. $ 4.99 for a classic burger!
