Main Street Bagel

YUCK!!!
Had to make an account just to expose this place.
They serve milk that is outdated for months that isn’t refrigerated, and burnt coffee and stale bagels. When I confronted them about it they were only mad at me and when I threw out milk that was a month expired, they yelled at me and told me they didn’t care if I never came back and they don’t want my business. I was a loyal customer who went there multiple times a week for a long time. Not happy.
They don’t want my business? They don’t need yours either. Not only that, but the owner was outright being mean to me, not just the other employees. Also, he tried to get another local business in trouble with racism when he is being racist himself!
I refuse to go here now! I’d rather starve myself! Disgusing!

This is one of the better bagel shops in the Flemington area. In fact, if I were evaluating on food quality alone, I’d be giving 4 stars. Eating or ordering in store, however, leaves much to be desired. Staff is friendly, but painfully slow and often confused and overwhelmed. The last time I ordered 2 bacon egg & cheese on bagels and waited for 27 minutes (i timed it). The store wasn’t particularly busy nor was it a peak time, so that was a bit disheartening. After about 20 mins I let the cashier know that I would be sitting outside waiting with my breakfast companion and please don’t forget us. About 5 minutes later, my friend went back inside to use the bathroom only to find the same cashier holding our bagels in the middle of the dining room with a confused look on her face. I’d hate to think how long a bagel sandwich would take if ordered during a busy time! Sad, because I so want to like this place. Fortunately they sell their bagels in Shoprite, so I can buy there and not have to endure the frustrating in-​store experience and wait times.

First time here and I’m not impressed. It was total chaos in there. People were just standing around waiting to order and waiting to receive their order. I like the coating on the bagel but the crème cheese was so bland even for low fat. I’ve had better.

Okay so it was a nostalgic 25 year trip down memory lane but my God I miss this olace. Superfriendly and the egg and cheese pork roll is what I miss I could eat it for breakfast every day. Thank you for keeping this place amazing.

I wish I had a pic of my chicken salad wrap, but that ‘s how good the food tasted. I was in Flemington for business and in two weeks I ate here three times.
The staff is always courteous, and the service is quick. The chicken salad, tuna salad, beef taco wrap are amazing. I did try the BBQ chicken wrap and it was okay. Not enough BBQ sauce for my liking and I would have more in the wrap or on the side. There are an number of healthy drinks available, like Bai5.
I recommend anyone looking for a quick bite to eat stop by.

We love Main Street Bagel. Service is always great and the owner, John couldn’t be a nicer guy. Bagels are some of the best I have ever had and they are fresh. Several times I have been lucky enough to have been there when a new batch was just out of the oven.

THE BEST BAGELS IN THE COUNTRY! Yes, that sounds ridiculous, but I challenge you to find better bagels anywhere. I’ve lived in NJ for 12 years, worked in New York, travelled all across the states and Canada and no one does bagels as fresh as John! And the prices are ridiculously cheap (frankly too cheap in my opinion — but I don’t see anyone complaining). And they have incredible coffee! They have made ordering bagels anywhere else a huge let down. I’d give them SIX stars if I could.

Best bagels in the Flemington area hands down. Bagels are always soft and fresh, not to mention mouth watering.

Went back again the other day and it was different. The people were happy and very friendly this time. I guess we all have our bad days. I had a pork roll egg and cheese and loved it. There was enough meat on it that the bread didn’t over power the sandwich. Will go back.

I love their bagels. I go there for bagel sandwiches frequently. Reasonably priced food. The place is on the small side so there isn’t much place to stand and wait for your food. But overall, I really like this place and I love the fact that they wear gloves when preparing your food. You don’t see that at many food establishments. The owner is always so friendly.

I grew up in Flemington but this place was not around «back in the day». My wife and I wanted a bagel so I searched bagels on the trusted Unilocal app and this place came up. It’s located right on Main St in Flemington so you’re going to have to find a street spot.
We came on a Sunday around noon, so they didn’t have their full bagel selection and they ran out of everything bagels by the time we left. I ordered a toasted everything bagel with lox spread and my wife had an everything with cream cheese. Food was served relatively quick and the servers were friendly. The bagel itself was pretty good but it was served with a little too much cream cheese. I had to take a decent amount off, but I guess it’s better than being served with too little.
They had a pretty good drink selection which is crucial for a bagel shop. For some reason, I think a Snapple goes great with a bagel and they have plenty to choose from. It’s a pretty simple menu and a pretty cool spot. If I lived in the area, I could see myself coming here more often.

Otherworldly comes to mind when I chew into this creation. Wish they were closer to Morristown!

3.5 stars. I was actually stressing about giving them a 4^th star as I was chewing my bagel earlier. Here’s why I rounded down.
–My coffee tasted burnt.
–Perfect chewy crust but inside missed the «oomph» taste that high-​gluten wheat flour gives.
Not a large space but has a few tables inside to sit down and enjoy a bagel. Basic bagel varieties here. Good for them in dousing the poppy bagels in poppy seeds. I like seeing my poppy bagel essentially look black. How I loathe it when my bagel shops get chinesy with poppy seeds.

Tasty, chewy bagels. Best in the area. Pleasant atmosphere with seasonal outdoor seating. My bagel go to place.
Can’t comment on the deli sandwiches, which don’t appeal to me. People I know have told me they’re good and they seem to do a brisk business with them.
A great asset to Main Street.

We live about 30 min from Main St Bagel but now that we’ve discovered it, we will definitely come back. Of course, we love the bagels, but it is located in the heart of downtown Flemington and you can dine outside and enjoy the weather and the ambiance. Friendly staff, great service and the breakfast bagel sandwiches and coffee are excellent! Highly recommend.

I really have nothing but good things to say about Main Street Bagel. Friendly, clean, delicious are a few words to describe them. Although I live in Atlanta I stop here on the way back to the airport every time I visit my parents. It’s usually 2 or 3 times a year. The owner is very friendly and always remembers us when we go there. I call my order before we go in (usually 3 dozen mixed to go) and its’ ready and waiting when I arrive. The price is fair and the bagels are delicious even after a flight down the east coast. Street parking is always easy to find and there is rarely a wait that is longer than 1 minute. See you on my next trip to NJ Main St. Bagel!

Very Simple — Great Bagels, Amazing Lox and probably the cleanest restaurant I have ever seen… They wear and change gloves every customer and the place is immaculate. Friendly and good food!

Main St Bagel Co is one of the best around Flemington. When I first moved here I thought there would be better Bagel places but unfortunately there aren’t. Anyway this place helped fill the void.
The owner is extra nice and he has a better than average bagel selection. Their breakfast and lunch are both phenomenal especially the grilled chicken Bagel.
Seating is good. It’s not amazing but for a bagel place it’s above par especially because they have outdoor seating too. The environment inside is good as well.

I love these bagels. I prefer them over The Bagel Club actually. Not to mention it’s downtown, so it’s nice to get a bagel or sandwich and sit outside eating breakfast.
I’ve actually only been INSIDE once, usually my boyfriend goes and gets the paper and grabs some bagels or a sandwich on Sunday morning.
I love poppy seed bagels, and I really hate when all of the seeds on just on the top of the bagel. You don’t have to worry about that here, these bagels are LOADED on whatever it is that you ordered. I love getting a bagel where BOTH sides are poppy, not just the top. They also have a jalapeño cheddar bagel that my boyfriend loves.
