When you pull up to this restaurant you consider running, as how could such a fabulous place be in such an «eh» location, but trust me it’s worth staying. The atmosphere is lovely and the food outstanding! Have been there numerous times in last few years(most recently a few months ago) and have never been let down!

Probably the most delicious vegetables I have ever eaten. My brother hates vegetables and yet he polished them off. The chicken was great. My bro loves the pasta with sausage. It had a little zing but was really nice. The food is excellent but the atmosphere could use a little work. The pink and blue isn’t really working, but I go here for the food, so it doesn’t detract much. They also have a catering hall that I’ll be interested in possibly using for a future party.

This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants. The food is always amazing and the portions generous. The owner and staff are welcoming, warm and accommodating. There is nothing pretentious about this place, the real deal. Our four children who are now adults love this restaurant as well.

The food is pretty good. The balsamic chicken dish and seafood medley were great. We haven’t seen Bene around the last few times but Giovanni was fine. I just can’t get over the location. Your food is good get away from that motel location and we would visit you more often.

Mangiabene is privately owned Italian restructure. Food & drinks are really well prepared. Salmon is very good. Mozzarella dish is very good prepared. They have a good selection of Italian wine important from Italy.

the food at Mangia Bene is quite tasty with a few special orders. the fact that it is attached to the Ramada is the only significant downside, as the Ramada needs sprucing up. we go to Mangia Bene as it is midway between friends in Frenchtown and Somerville. the Pasta #7 is always a hit. their specials are 50⁄50 on being a hit. when they have the baby lamb chops, yum! sunday night, and there were 5 tables filled at 7PM. the staff is normally very pleasant and courteous. appetizers were tasty. Bruschetta, mozzarella tomato, cuke salad — very tasty. dinner for the 4 of us was a Veal dish — good, Spaghetti Carbonara –good, pasta #7 –YUM, lobster ravioli with a vegetable and mushroon medley — very good. so all in all, a good dinner, which is why we consistently go there, INSPITE of the Ramada. PS I do not think the proprietors are Italian…

I recently moved to the flemington and am attempting to try out all of the non«chain» restaurants in the area. This place had horrible curb appeal. The food was okay, slightly overpriced for what we got. When we first approached the restaurant it looked closed because It was a little to dark inside. The service was okay. I waited a while for my drink to get refilled and then they charged me for the refill. Face it unless it’s an alcohol beverage at a sit down meal refills should be free. Overall, I think they need to brighten up the place and try a more peppy approach if they plan to remain in that drab location. It could be a great spot!

My wife and I recently moved to Flemington and are slowly checking out restaurants in the area. We went to Mangia Bene last night after seeing reviews on Unilocal and Google. We weren’t disappointed. The décor is nothing special but the service and especially the food were fantastic. I had the braised short ribs and my wife ordered the ravioli. Both were great. Don’t let the fact it’s connected to the Ramada scare you off. This is a great little find.

This is the epitome of a hidden gem. It’s attached to the Ramada in Flemington, so you’d think it would be mediocre, predictable food. Nope, not at all. I have family that lives nearby, and we have spent many nights at Mangiabene(even holding my Father’s 50th birthday celebration and having them cater some of our family functions) The menu is pretty varied, with all standard Italian fare. What I will say is they truly shine with custom orders. I am a pain in the ass, and I don’t eat pasta. Like, I haven’t in about 5 years. So, my favorite thing to order is a Frutti Di Mare(mixed shellfish with pasta and red sauce)…but with no pasta. They didn’t even bat an eyelash. I think this is the first place my stepmother had Scungilli too(«Skoon-geel» aka conch). They have a full liquor license, which as anyone from the area knows, is a HUGE deal.

Stopped in with my daughter for dinner on a Sunday night got a table right away and was seated. Then had to ask for a menu so we could order, then asked for a wine list so we could order. Service was pleasant and the food good, mixed drinks perfect, dinning quiet, but found it unusual that an Italian restaurant is al la carte’, which made the meal pricey. In an area where Italian food is abundant this was overpriced.

Absolutely amazing Italian food. Flavors were rich, bright and crisp. We had an eggplant app that was recommended by our waiter and the cream sauce it was in had us so ready to get our entrees! Bursting with flavor. We ordered spare ribs and a chicken dish for dinner and both plates were great. In addition the servers were friendly and very helpful. Will be back for sure. Another pleasant surprise is they have a full bar with a great martini menu. This place is definitely worth checking out!

Some of my corporate colleagues and I were in Flemington last week and this Italian eatery was highly recommended by the staff at our hotel. When we pulled into the parking lot — attached to, but not affiliated with, the Ramada Inn hotel — there was just one other car present. None of us thought this was a positive sign, so I exited the car in a pouring rain to ensure the place was even open at 5:30 pm. Yes, yes it was. And the sole car in the lot belonged to the other couple dining near where we were seated. Only later did we find out that most diners arrive around 7:00 pm or so. The ambience is nice; quaint, but with a definite hint of higher class dining. Mangia Bene is a BYOB restaurant, as are virtually all eateries in Flemington. However, they do have a selection of wines and mixed drinks you can choose from. We elected to forego drinks and instead focus on appetizers and entrees. Hearty portions and flavourful sauces made this a hit with all of us. I was in a carb-loading mode so I chose simple spaghetti marinara with meat balls. The platter set before me had three ENORMOUS meatballs the size of oranges, much more than I could eat — and I’m a big eater. The spaghetti was dressed with an appropriate amount of sauce for true Italians, but I prefer having a bit more. However, everything was quite tasty and had we known it was a BYOB place, we would have picked up a bottle at a much cheaper price from Little Bros Beverage Outlet on Church Street. Definitely worth stopping by for the best Italian in the city.
