Fantastic breakfast and coffee. The staff is friendly and service is outstanding. Highly recommended.

Stopped in this afternoon for a waffle and coffee. I had the deluxe waffle and a decaf coffee. The coffee was very good but the waffle was nothing special. I’m giving 5 stars because Tiffany and Zach were very friendly and attentive; they gave great service and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. I hope the 5 stars isn’t misleading for the food because it just isn’t that great but the service definitely is.

Friendly service from the gal who was working the place this early weekday morning. She made a very nice latte and the waffle(with fruit and a drizzle of nutella) was quite good. Though even without the extra powdered sugar dusting, the waffle was very sweet. After they demoed at a Charlotte Unilocal event, and we went to the one in Ballantyne, this is my second CIW. They’ve done a good job at consistency — both waffles were very sweet.

Had a late breakfast here today. We absolutely loved the whole dining experience. We loved the décor, so many interesting things to look at. The food was amazing. We ordered 3 different kinds of specialty waffles & liked them all. We also had coffee & hot chocolate, which were delicious. We ended with a yogurt parfait which can was picture perfect and tasted great. If we travel through Florence again, we will definitely stop and eat here again!

Thanks to a Unilocal search we found this Gem in Florence. As someone with Celiacs it can be impossible to find places with a gluten free menu, much less a restaurant with safe cooking standards and a menu with more than one option. My mom, little sister, and I stopped in for breakfast on our way back home to Maryland. Elaine was so helpful and kind. She explained that I could order any of their waffle flavors gluten free and that they were safe for Celiacs. They cook them on a separate iron with separate utensils. The entire visit was so pleasant and Elaine made us feel like we were friends visiting, not just a family passing through. The waffles even tasted so delicious that we bought 6 frozen gluten free and 6 frozen regular waffles to take home with us. If you’re ever in the area or are close enough to drive in you must stop in!

Great place for light & fluffy Belgian waffles — but not your normal Belgian waffles. The batter is a brioche batter, not pancake batter. The fruit was supper fresh, the coffee outstanding(we had cappuccino). The gal who waited on us was exceptionally friendly. I would highly recommend.

Great place for waffles and coffee! So glad that Florence has this place. Restaurant is adorable, comfy, and inviting. I can get a bit self conscious going alone into a place to sit, but not here. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Waffles are definitely sweet, but you have a great amount of choices if you’d rather not have a sugar high. Coffees range from interesting to just a good old cup of joe. A previous reviewer mentioned outdoor seating, and I think that’s a great idea! Florence has the weather to sustain outdoor dining(of course not in the high heat of August, but possibly early morning?) Great job Cast Iron!!!

Waffles are legit. Coffee is very good and of high quality. Waffles won awards locally. Their most popular is the Deluxe which was great but with a waffle base this tasty I imagine you can’t go wrong. They have maple butter sold separately which can be drizzled on for more flavor. Worth the trip for sure.

Not a big waffle fan but this place uses dough instead of pancake mix. I am in heaven. I will be back. Prices are great.

Finally got a chance to visit this relatively new place in Florence. Nice concept, cool vibe/décor. Menu is quite odd, however. I was disappointed that our waffles were reheated-previously made ones. Why? Doesn’t take long to make a waffle! Kids were disappointed that they had no ice cream on the menu to top the waffles. Fresh(I think) whipped cream was very light and tasty and fruit toppings were fresh and delicious. Waffle was pretty dense but tasty. Why paper cups and plastic forks for dine-in customers? No food here. Seems like some breakfast choices and some dinner options(no chicken and waffles???) would make this a great one-stop location for a date or family night. Coffee was excellent(more impressive than the waffles) and the kids loved the super sweet waffles and toppings. An expanded menu would put this place over the top… but only if the waffles were always fresh and hot! …three stars until then.

After a big lunch, my sister and I craved dessert. I was happy to see a location here and was familiar with the ones in Charlotte. Cute, clean and cozy. The owner and her daughter were friendly and pleasant. We decided to be half-bad and split a waffle. Mmm good. I could havs eaten a whole one. Decided to try a decaf number and it was delicious. The coffee tasted of good quality because my coffee was not watery like some decaf brands. Will definitely visit again.

Waffles are good but it’s obviously a new foray into the restaurant business for the owners. Simple changes could make this a much better place– actual silverware, non-styrofoam coffee mugs, and non paper plates. Seating is sparse and could be enhanced with some tables outside.

This place was delicious! It is small and quaint, and the waffles are delicious. They even have Gluten Free options. :)

This place is still really new so they have a few kinks to work out behind the counters. The two ladies working were extremely nice and the food was great but we ended up waiting about 30 minutes to receive it. They were surprisingly busy and they were definitely trying very hard to keep up but I think the waffles were neglected a bit so they had to remake some before serving. The good news is that you always get fresh waffles, the bad is that you just have to wait a while for it if they’re busy. I think they’ll get the hang of it soon but please be patient if you go in while they’re busy. The waffles are quite good so it was easy to forget the long wait time once we had them. We ordered a peanut butter cup waffle and a fresh fruit deluxe waffle. Both were great. They’re a little on the smaller side so don’t expect one of those massive waffles but they were still a nice size. The ambiance is great too so we’ll definitely be back at some point to try their teas. They also have a variety of coffee beverages but I haven’t tried any. Well worth a visit but I might wait until they’ve been open a tad longer before returning.

Incredible. Okay, so you park and then you see this cute little chalkboard sign outside and it’s so welcoming! And when you go inside! boom. It hits you, you’re not in Florence anymore. You’ve stepped into a beautiful place, with bright colors and gorgeous decorations and every aspect of this store is just so lovely! You’re in love… and you haven’t even ordered yet. Well, the menu is fun and friendly and simple. You pick your waffle(I got the Nutella one obvi) and then you pay, you sit and wait and minutes later the perfect sized waffle, with the perfect toppings and fresh whipped crème is sitting right in front of you! Wow. It was so good. Never had a waffle like that before. It was just the nicest experience you could possibly ask for and there were two super sweet ladies running the place :) yay for women running businesses!

It’s a new place… but there was no explanation/direction/energy from the two staffers inside. As for the couple who came in after us they got the royal treatment. Staffers asked if they had been there before. They said No(like us) and then got a 3 minute explanation which we had to overhear. The mocha latte tasted like it was burnt. It looks like they pre-make the waffles which was sort of disappointing but I could be wrong. I must warn you if you get a delux waffle like peanut butter cup… It is very sweet. Amongst all my complaints, it is interesting and different and I would go again. Especially if they invested in metal silverware and they improved the latte so it didn’t taste burnt!
