Doubt that we will go there again. Brought in a group of 9 adults. Even though both dining rooms were empty they kept asking if we had called in a reservation. They couldn’t decide who was going to wait on us, and when they did the service was slow and inaccurate. I was drinking Sam Adams lager but when I got the bill it had a more expensive beer listed. The waitress said that she knew it didn’t show the beer I was drinking but she assured me I got the correct beer. The food was mediocre. We got the feeling that since we were not regulars, we were not important.

What a disaster. Stopped for dinner and according to their paperwork, our order went in at 5:20. My wife had to leave at 6:10 and our food hadn’t arrived yet. When it showed up at 6:20, I figured out that it was probably prepared in a timely manner and spent the majority of time waiting to be delivered. In fairness, there was only one waitress for the entire place. The cold food would have been marginal, at best. I ordered a hoagy with mushroom sauce and the sauce looked like it was lightly brushed on one side of the bun. The hoagy was a bland JTMish imitation and it was accompanied by generic, cold onion rings. I asked that my wife’s meal be packaged to go. A few minutes later, the waitress dropped off a food carton for me to pack. My lesson cost me $ 21.50 but it’s worth it to me to never have to go back. Also, their ad says it’s a smoke free environment. Not even close. Smelled like an old ashtray and several patrons were puffing away.

this place is under new ownership… and not off to a good start! Read it in the paper the place had sold. Went it to try it out and the joint was nearly empty. .they slapped some paint on the walls and that’s about it. Menu looked the same. A young lady pointed out the new owner and we tried to speak with him and he seemed disinterested in meeting a customer. Good luck! You’ll need it.

They serve till 11, which is why we came. But the food is good. Just blowin through town, the barbecue sauce on the chicken was really good and the Greek salad was really good, but there’s no mixed greenslike the menu says, just iceberg job. The chicken was cooked just right, and Wednesday night margaritas are pretty weak but $ 1.50 so what can you do.

This is a nice neighborhood bar and grill. Friendly staff and patrons. There is no smoking inside so its also a good place for families to grab a bite to eat. Great place to catch a UK basketball game. Only downside is single restrooms.

Tried to eat there this past Saturday at 1:00 in the afternoon. Walked in to find a few tables with customers and about 4 people sitting at the bar. We were told to sit anywhere. We sat. We sat, We used the restroom. We sat, We sat… After 10 minutes of watching the wait staff talk to each other at the bar as we sat there, we left. Hit a mexican place a block over and within the same amount of time had our food. Based on the reviews(and our love of finding local establishments) we really wanted to eat here. Guess they didn’t want us though…

Myself and a couple coworkers went to Shakeys for the 2nd half of the USA World Cup game Thursday. The place wasn’t completely packed. We took a seat at a table that hadn’t been cleaned off yet. The table was cleaned off relatively quickly, but it took our server at least 10 minutes to get our drink order. I ordered an unsweet tea with lemon. It came with no lemon. We ordered our food and that took 20 something minutes to come out. Then in took a considerable amount of time to get our checks. The food is okay, but the place looks like it’s not been updated in 20 – 25 years.

Got drawn in to shakey’s while traveling down I75. The wife was reading reviews and came up with shakey’s. Went in and we’re immediately seated. The owner(shakey) was at the door and even patted me on the back and thanked us for coming in. We ordered a bacon burger a dipper and a blackened steak sandwich. My wife and sons burger and dipper were pretty good. My «blackened» «steak«sandwich was not. It was a small tough piece of beef on a bun. The meat was really hard to bite through. It was slightly embarrassing how long I had to hold the sandwich to my mouth and grind the bite away with my teeth. It was not blacked at all. The onions were only slightly grilled. There was a VERY strong perfume smell in the red room. Probably not the staff or owners fault but really made my meal way less enjoyable. Overall not a bad place I’m pretty sure I just got a bad meal.

Just a great friendly neighborhood pub! Good food, good drinks, and good wait staff. My co-workers and I like to visit Shakey’s in the warmer months and sit out on the patio and unwind. I have never had anything from the menu that I didn’t like. And the wait staff is always very friendly and attentive, and, as someone else said, not over-bearing. I occasionally have lunch here, but it is too hard to go back to work after having a quick bite on the patio!

Laid back bar/restaurant that’s great for hangin out with friends. I even feel comfortable bringing my 2 year old here for lunch or an early dinner, he loves the nice waitresses. Food is awesome! Try the boneless buffalo chicken wings, I swear they taste like hooters wings. And the lobster bisque on Fridays is delicious! The only thing I dislike is that you can tell the waitresses favor the regulars best, so sometimes it can take a few more minutes to get a refill or the check, but the food and prices are worth it.

Very good food and service! The food is great quality pub food. I had a burger, and it was really good! Another time I had the Grouper special. It was tasty, breaded, but not greasy at all. There are plenty of nice large big screens. This is a great place to watch horse racing.

I may be biased, as I’ve been to this place at least 50 times in the past four years, but I absolutely love Shakeys. I know it’s been at least 50 times, because I’ve watched nearly every regular season NFL game there on Sundays the past 4 seasons and some UK basketball games during their season. That said, as a legal drinker for less than two years, I have loved this place without beer, and loved it with. The crowd is your typical«regular» bar crowd. Come here a few times month, and you’ll see some of the same faces, no matter the day. Shakey, the owner, is almost always walking around as well, picking up dirty dishes and making small talk with everyone, regular or not. The food is typical bar fare, with a prime rib option that I’ve heard is rather tasty. I’ve only heard, though, because I think I’ve had their traditional wings with mild sauce, extra wet with ranch 95% of the time I’ve been. Nothing like them in town — and a side or basket of loaded fries and ranch is the perfect complement. I’ve obviously mostly been here during game time, so couldn’t comment on karaōke night or the live entertainment(music and comedy), except that it can be kinda loud if you’re in the room with it. But the ones who sit there don’t seem to mind, and enjoy it. Love this place. If I ever moved, would be on my list of places to must-visit when I returned.

One of my regular eatin’ places. It is a very laid back and friendly restaurant with a pretty good selection of food. During the warm months, you will find me and my people sitting on the patio. The beer selection is mainly big brands but they have had Hudy Amber Lager on tap for some time and it is one of my favorites. Service is friendly and it is a great place to watch a game or just grab a beer and some dinner. Between a chain restaurant and local place, I always go local and Shakey’s is a solid spot. See you Tuesday!

From the outside Shakeys looks like a little office, as it is a small structure from the front, in a sunken strip of commercial office’s.(The roadway is higher than the stores on the block, so you have to look down too see Shakey’s, weird. Inside the place is all sports bar, a little on the ill lit side, some very cool chatchka and memorabilia adorning the walls. I ordered the fish special(fried grouper) which was very good-3 nice moist slabs of fresh fish, breaded and cooked perfectly, the side of fries was nothing to write home about. the next day, after reading the menu a few times, I went with the Wild Wings naked wings-alright, I got 2 orders, I will admit it. $ 6.99 served all day, only 1 blue cheese is provided and each other is .60(I think 2 is the right number for the platter) Each order was a pound of Tyson chicken(as shown on the menu) I thought they were going to be a little more flavorful, the wings came out kinda soaked in the sauce and became more difficult to hold on to with every bite-the pitchers of beer weren’t helping($ 10 for Sam Adams Summer Ale-mmm a little steep) I also went with the Pub Grub Ribs-regular slab($ 14.00) these were quite good and upon reflection I should have had these as my double-up order. Comes with a side order and a nice salad) 3 bottles of beer, 2 pitchers and another sandwich later(grilled ham and cheese) we had a $ 57.00 bill, so no complaints on price at all. The rest of the menu is bar typical regarding App choices, the Burgers looked very good, Sandwiches, soups, salads. There was some very enjoyable live music going on in the outside dining area and everyone seemed to be having a really good time – Beers, burgers and a band? whats not to like?

Shakey’s your average typical dive bar. I like going there just for the beers and big screens especially when it is football season. They have an outside patio, which is really cool because it’s pet friendly. I take my pooch there when there is a live band outside on the patio. The beer prices ok. I remember one instant, where a friend of mine ordered a Cobb salad thinking for $ 10.00 it would be a true cobb salad. All it was was cheap iceberg lettuce couple diced up tomatoes and little onion… LMAO. He said to the waitress«I that all I get for $ 10.00» that was one funnest thing I’ve seen. So I would just come here for beer and to watch football.
