I’ve come here numerous of times and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve bounced around the menu because there are so many great options to choose from and I’ve have never been disappointed with my selection or the service. Once me and my friends stayed in the dining room well after it closed and no one had an attitude or asked us to leave. It wasn’t even an issue. This is a Flossmoor charm that always delivers!

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit the restaurant a couple of times recently. We loved everything from the décor to the friendliness of the waitstaff and of course the fabulously tasty food. Good job

I have only been here three times, I live quite a bid west of here, but I had to take the time to write a review, this place deserves it. In a world where microbrews seem to be popping up in every neighborhood, it is nice to find one that has both great beer and great food. Granted a food truck stopping by your local taproom is hip and trendy, but is it convenient? When I am hungry, I want to get food! The food at this brewery is pretty stinking good and it’s comfort food to the core. Beer cheese soup topped with popcorn, yes please! The last time I was there, I got the pulled pork with extra sport peppers on the side, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Also, this place is cute, it seems to be preserving the history of the town. I think I read that it was the actual old train station(metra now adjacent). Cool idea for a brewery/restaurant. Finally, the beer is good, impressively good considering this place doubles as a restaurant. We always try to remember our growler to get a refill when have been back there. Last time, I also picked up a bomber and a 4-pack of cans to bring to a dinner party.

More like 2.5 stars. Been here dozens of times since we moved here in 2007. Used to love it, but now… New BBQ menu is good. A very welcome change! Beer has REALLY fallen off and lately all over the map. They keep changing brewers, recipes. They try a lot of styles, but unfortunately most of them miss the mark. They have really lost me on their beer and that’s the reason we used to come so often. They really need to replace the carpeting with all wood or even that fake wood. I can’t even stand to sit in the dining area anymore so we always sit in the bar area.

My first time here was pretty awesome, the service was good and the atmosphere was great. The train décor was great for my 2year old who is obsessed with Thomas the train.

Love this place! Whenever we do lunch for work we come here! Great service every time and decent prices! I haven’t been able to try any of their brews yet. Maybe after work one day. ;)

Great place to visit when weather permits outdoor eating. Kid friendly reataurant and the ice cream available next door at the train car makes it a worthwhile trip. Food is good, service always good, and ambiance is casual but fun.

I always give 2nd chances, but not sure why. Flossmoor Street Station did not win me back. Got our food, beer cheese soup was good and hot, but our burger and pasta — cold! Called on the phone, got a young kid who said, «thank you for letting us know.» Click! What??? I went over there… I live across the street.(Explains why I was upset my food was cold). Asked to talk to the Manager who offered me a $ 10 gift card. I don’t think so. Got a full refund. Unacceptable food and service. What they should have done was remake my entire order, offered dessert and even another meal for the future. But they missed the opportunity to keep me as a Customer.

My girlfriend won some major points for this one. She had a work meeting in the area, I was tagging along and she needed a place to drop me off to chill out for couple hours. Only requirements: Beer and food. Well, the Flossmoor station was that and then some. I pretty much try to hit breweries anywhere I go and live in an area that is home to quite a few very good ones(in my opinion). Everything I tried here was excellent! The IPL, the IPA, a barrel-aged stout of some kind, oh man, I took full advantage of being on foot. I got here about 3:00 or so on Wednesday so super relaxed at the bar. Can’t remember my bartender’s name, but she was very sweet and helpful. Didn’t make me feel like a random out of towner, which I pretty obviously was! A local, really friendly crowd while I was there. Got chatting to a nice dude next to me and he gave me a great recommendation on where to go next. All in all, everyone really made me feel at home. I went with the Brew Brat sandwich for some reason, and it wasn’t amazing but it definitely wasn’t terrible either. Everything else I saw coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, so I think I should have just gone a different direction. It seems unlikely I’ll make it back out to this area for any reason as I’m from pretty far away, but sure wish I could make it a weekly visit. Good food, great beer, and a great time. Thanks from a random out of towner!

Really good! Great setting, nice service. The menu isn’t terribly exciting, but we enjoyed what we ordered, and thought the beers we chose were of high quality.

We love coming here. Favorite beer is the railhopper. Fried pickles are awesome. Fish and chips with coleslaw can’t be beat. One of our favorite restaurants.

Great place for lunch. We’ve tried dinner a few times but the vibe just wasn’t the same. Their bang bang shrimp is simply delicious and very filling. I would recommend the bar area over the main dining hall. More intimate and the staff there are a lot more attentive.

I go here with coworkers after work a few times a year. It’s a nice place. They have good beers and decent food. On Fridays they have a free buffet that is pretty okay, too. I noticed a model train running around the ceiling, which fits in because it is right on a metra train stop. For parking, see the street on the other side of the roundabout right in front of Flossmoor station. There is a free parking lot that usually has plenty of parking.

Flossmoor Station has stellar artichoke dip, great burgers, excellent mac and cheese, and really good salads. They’re a bit overpriced but the food is super yummy. We also got some really great chocolate cake on our last visit. We haven’t eaten in the restaurant. We always get it to-go. But, our kids love the food too. I would suggest this for a date or intimate experience. Parking over these isn’t great though so get there early.

As a member of the community, I have been here at least a hundred times!!! Flossmoor Station is probably the largest biggest in the community, as well as a true pillar of the community. It is at the center of the«town square,» next to the actual Metra station, the library, and across the street from the Post Office. There are many other small businesses located across the street as well. Flossmoor Station is a brewery, with craft brews created on location. There are approximately 8 brews that are always available. And then there are approximately another 8 that are vary or are seasonal. These craft brews range in ABV from 4.6% to 9%. You have to try them for yourself to suit your«Craft Beer Taste Buds!» Hence, I will not give an impression on the quality or taste of the beers, however I believe there is a wide enough variety(craft and traditional domestics and imports) to suit most any taste bud! But, just for your information, my husband enjoys the Gandy Dancer Honey Lager and the Rail Hopper IPA. Both of those are year-round offerings. I like to order the Flossmoor Station Fruit Beer, which changes seasonally. There are two dining sections of Flossmoor Station. The dining room section(with booths and tables) and the bar section(where you can dine at the bar or at high-top tables). The décor of the Flossmoor Station is awesome, with an old town appeal. There are vintage artifacts and a lot of black and white photos. Most of the photos are of «old» Flossmoor, featuring some of the photos of the original train station. There is also an actual running choo choo train track overhead of the dining area near the bar. Did I mention, the Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery is actually on the back end of the actual Flossmoor Metra Station? So, there are perfect window seats for any child who is in awe of moving trains!!! The food of Flossmoor Station is good, but truthfully it is not my true lure… The«Pub-style» menu offers appetizers, soups, salads, flatbread, burgers, and other sandwiches. My favorite order is the FISHTACOS, although I sometimes like to enjoy the $ 1 beef tacos on Saturdays between 12 – 4 p.m. in the bar area! Finally, Flossmoor Station has two, large, private rooms for rental to accommodate large groups or banquets. This is a great place to meet with family and friends, where the motto is «Good times, good food, good friends…»

First and foremost, they have a world class brewmaster. Their beer is diverse, well balanced, and representative examples of their different styles. They are not a one trick pony like Two Brothers, where everything is yet another IPA. Get a Gandy Dancer; as my wife says, it’s if mead were made into a beer. It tastes of honey and lilac, and is a touch dry on the pallet. Perfect. Second, the staff is engaging and personable. My complements to them. Our last guy kept dropping random samples on the table for us and he was fun to interact with. I can’t think of a better way to develop a report with your customer base. Also, their location is awesome; they’re part of the electric line station. The neighborhood is quaint, and there’s a caboose I think they sell ice cream. The whole place, inside, out, and surrounding is just gravitating. Their food costs them anything higher than 3 stars and that’s a shame. First, their portions are skewed; the nacho appetizer, for example, will feed 6; there’s no way of knowing before hand unless you think to ask. We had to take the rest of our food home untouched. Second, their menu has no focus; about ¼ of their menu is deli sandwiches; they’re not a deli, sandwiches are just easy to make — lots of variety with few ingredients seems to have been too tempting for the menu planner. Wraps, too… No. I don’t want to go to a fine restaurant and brewery for a cold cut sandwich I can make at home. Finally, anything with melted cheese on it is poorly executed. The cheese is cold and solid — it’s like eating a tire patch. When I expect melted cheese on something, I expect it to remain in a liquid state; it should be a cheese sauce on those nachos and on that potato. I do like their beer cheese soup, though. It’s got that cheddar and bacon bite and warmth that sticks to your bones on a cold day. Pure comfort food. I just want a bowl of that, a slice of rye, and a warm brandy after coming in from a heavy snow. Really, boys, I’ll be dreaming of that day. The popcorn that comes with it, while I see what you’re trying to do and I appreciate it, I don’t like that the popcorn just melts; it becomes grit and doesn’t add anything. I’m looking for something different while my wife loves it. I dunno… So if they fixed some of their portion sizes, reduced their menu size to 1⁄3 its current, and instead focused on signature dishes and execution, this place would be 5 stars and worth coming from anywhere to patron. They have everything else to achieve that.

Flossmoor Station is much more attractive than other breweries. It is located in an older building, next to the Flossmoor Metra, and it’s also a restaurant. The rustic, scenic setting right next to the train station is quite picturesque. There’s a little locomotive that runs around the bar area — just look up! I had the Raspberry Wheat Beer(their fruit beers rotate seasonally) and sampled the Gandy Dancer, which curiously tasted like a gummy bear. Our group shared some appetizers: onion rings, calamari, and mozzarella sticks. You really can’t go wrong with any of those. It wasn’t crowded at all on a Wednesday afternoon; mostly older males at the bar and some families dining in the restaurant area. Good beer, good food, and an interesting setting, I would come back here.

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would, but really the extra points were mostly for the charm of the building, not necessarily the food, so I guess I’ll stick to 3 stars. We arrived here around 430 on a Friday. There was a decent crowd. We weren’t asked where we want to sit and were seated in the restaurant area. The restaurant is large, with lots of booths and tables, but there is a separate bar area that looked a lot more ‘happening’ and uptempo. I think we should’ve requested to sit there. Not a huge deal though. This restaurant was seriously cool looking. It’s clearly a restaurant and bar, but clearly a train station too. I loved the subway tiles on the floor, train memorabilia and photos that were everywhere, and the overall vibe of the place! We wanted to try some beers and apps, so I was thrilled to see they had a fruit beer offering. The board said the seasonal fruit was cherry, which sounded good, but the waitress informed me it was actually blueberry, which sounded even better! After placing my order, she came back and said that keg blew and they were switching to raspberry… seemed a little odd to call the beer ‘seasonal’ but then see they were all available recently– my fruit-beer emotions were yanked every which way, but I ended up sticking w the raspberry. It was tart, light flavor, not super sweet. Just OK overall. I ordered their Gandy dancer honey ale second, and liked that almost a little bit more. That was also light, with a hint of sweetness, not too hoppy. We ordered fried pickles and their Brew-schetta as our apps. The fried pickles were pretty bland. Even the pickles lost their flavor. The Brew-schetta was tasty, though. Came with 6 thick cheese-covered slices of bread, and a huge mound of tomatoes with a balsamic vinegar drizzle. Be careful eating that one! I managed to drop too much on my dress while eating that! Service was a little slow, and we did have another place to get to, but it wasn’t to the point of being frustrating. My guy told me to avoid the one-person bathroom in the back because it was far from clean, so we used the multi-person bathrooms in the front which were nicer– although the girls one had a space heater on inside of it… what the heck? It was like a tropical nightmare in there. Anyways, I wouldn’t mind coming back in the future, but would not go out of my way to get here.

As a native south suburban, I’ve been here too many times to count. Flossmoor Station is the class of the Chicago Southland. Here’s why: Beer: we have to start here. The Pullman Brown ale is one of the better beers I’ve had. I recommend it to everyone I know that heads here. The Panama Red ale is also pretty superb. If you’re into the barrel-aged scene, they recently rolled out the«Pullman Brown Reserve» which is absolutely phenominal(word for the wise, don’t have more than one of these if you’re planning on driving…). I’d recommend getting a flight and trying everything. Food: I’d classify the majority of the menu as upper-echelon bar food with really solid burgers. That said, the FISHANDCHIPSAREOUTOFTHISWORLDGOOD. The Fish and Chips at Flossmoor Station are the only reason I started to like fish. Special shout out to the beer cheese soup as well for holding down the appetizer scene. Atmosphere/Layout: Everyone knows this, but the restaurant is built into what used to be an old train station(hence the name…). They have a patio that gets utilized really well in the summers, and mini shop right next to the patio called«The Caboose» that serves really good gelato during the summer. The bar has enough TV’s to qualify as a decent place to watch a game, and there are also daily bar specials(50 cents off pints, discounts on appetizers, etc.) that typically bring in a good crowd. Last weekend, I saw their beer for sale in a retail setting for the first time. I felt so proud that my «hometown brewery» had made its way all the way to the shelves of Chicago stores. I’d recommend you make a trip soon before the secret’s out!
