Common Grounds Coffee Shoppe

Excellent coffee and nice atmosphere. But what really sells this place is the kindness of the owner. What a wonderful gent and fun to joke with. Enjoy!

Great little coffee/​breakfast stop! Simple and quaint! I had the ham biscuit and some grits (I’m not an egg person) the coffee was bold and tasty. I would highly recommend! I will be back the next time I’m in the area.

In town for Mitty racing at Road Atlanta and was looking for a breakfast place. Checked Unilocal and found limited choices but then came upon Common Grounds. Home run. In short simple offerings but all very good and flavorful. Checkout menu, order at counter, food out in a few minutes. Ownership/​staff very cordial and delightful. What a GREAT FIND in little but quaint Flowery Branch.
Of note I had the house coffee and it was bold and flavorful. Upon departure asked for a coffee to go and was given complimentary… See if you get that at Starbucks. I would recommend and definitely go back. Way to go Common Grounds, Well Done !!!

Really good breakfast. The French toast was thick & fluffy and my over medium eggs were perfect (not something you get very often). Looking forward to coming back soon.

This review is for the Chicken and Dumplings ONLY!
As I was exploring the local shops, I thought that I would drop in and get something quick to eat. I was very thirsty and really wanted to get a smoothie but I noticed the bottles of processed flavorings, (proudly displayed) and immediately changed my mind. The place was so cute and quaint inside that I really wanted to have a unique meal and eat in.
So, I took a deep breath and ordered a cup of chicken and dumplings because I rationalize that no one would dare have this on their menu unless that know what they are doing? Right? Boy was I wrong! What arrived a the table was a deep yellow, gelatinous mess in a cup. It did not have chicken or dumplings.
As soon as it hit the table, I could only hear my alter ego saying Oh Sh – ! and I immediately planned my escaped. After digging around to see what it was, I took a couple of bites, covered it with a napkin and quietly left the restaurant.
During the long ride home, I could not get this item out of my head because it looked so familiar. I finally realized that it looked like they dumped a can of cream of chicken soup in a bowl, (no water) and sprinkled it with flour. It was absolutely VILE!
For having the unmitigated gall to call this chicken and dumplings when it possessed neither, and to have the nerve to serve it to me, (who knows better), I award one star. This has been THE absolutely worst food experience I have ever had.
They obviously need to stick with breakfast and coffee and leave the traditionally southern dishes to the professionals. I do hope that they consider removing this item from their menu ASAP!

Great local place. Traveling salesperson decided to Unilocal for a quick coffee and bite. So glad to find this place. Very friendly and quick service. The vanilla latte was really good and the bowl scrambler was delicious and fresh

This is a great place. The atmosphere and staff are great. The pancakes, french toast, bacon and coffee are all fantastic. The prices are great too, you get a good amount of great tasting food for a fair price.

This is our common breakfast place. Gene is a helluva cook and good guy. Train Whistle and Bulldog is my breakfast norm. Also his bacon is awesome!

This place is super cute! I randomly found it while heading to a friends house in Flowery Branch– google searched coffee and this place came up. Love the building. Friendly staff. I had a vanilla latte and bagel Nd they were both delicious! I will definitely be going back to try more food and coffee.

Being Gluten Free, this is my favorite place for lunch! I can eat the entire sandwich. The only place in the flowery branch and oakwood area which serves Gluten Free sandwiches. The food is fresh, the atmosphere is relaxing and the service is fabulous. My co-​workers and I love to hangout here and relax during lunch hour over delicious sandwiches and soups. Their potato salad is the best. Thank you Common Grounds for exceptional food and service.

This place is homey and yummy. The cheese grits are the best! Always feel wecome here.
