The fours stars are because I like the owners a lot; they are a very sweet older couple. They are indeed a bit light with the ingredients, but any Carvel not serviced by teenagers is that way. It’s close-by and I when I need a black and white shake(I’m sure I’m about 75% milk shake at this point), I must have one. If it’s not thick enough, I’m like George McFly at the end of BTTF and I go ask Biff to thicken that baby up. If you want more product in a store serviced by the owner, don’t be a push over… make them give you the right amount. I ask every single time I think it’s too light and at this point they sort of laugh, but they always take care of it. I like them, I don’t want to drive to Hillside and I have no complaints since I don’t take shit to begin with. Cheers!

This place sucks! The owners are RUDE and mumble in whatever their native language is when you present them with a coupon, skimp on ingredients when your getting a sundae and God forbid you ask for an extra napkin. I’ve been here so many times with my kids and every time it’s the same thing. I only go here because it’s close but will be driving to the one on Hillside or to Hershey’s on Jericho in the future.

I love ice cream and I love Carvel. However, this place is a disaster. The ice cream is consistently poorly made(unlike other Carvels such as the one on Hillside Avenue not too far away). Worse than the poor ice cream is the abysmal service. Always rude. It is surprising to me that Carvel allows this place to besmirch their reputation!

Custom ordered an ice-cream cake for my daughter’s tenth birthday from here. Not only did it look/taste great, they were able to make one big enough to accommodate all 40+ of my guests. There are ice-cream flavors at this Carvel that I’ve never seen at other branches so that’s a plus too. Super friendly owners.

I love this Carvel! Their cakes are absolutely delicious and they make them beautifully. They have a variety of ice cream flavors — banana, green tea, mango! And of course all the typical flavors as well The people who work there are super nice and accommodating! Love this place more than wild cherry as it is a tried and true American favorite! — this is my go to for ice cream in the douglaston little neck area

Nice older asian couple own the place and work mist of the time. They are very nice and the location has a good selection despite being very small.

I’ve lived in this neighborhood for like 8 years and I just discovered this location. Great small hole in the wall with good ice cream — they even have green tea ice cream! Also, parking lot in the back, bonus!

The ice cream here is standard. Some are good, others not so much.(I once had their green tea ice cream and it tasted like shampoo! And i love green tea ice cream in general). I might suggest Wild Cherry over this place if you want more of a variety and more bang for your buck. If you want soft-serve, on Wednesday’s they do a buy one, get one for free special at Carvel so get on that if you’re with a friend!

I’m the type of person that can eat ice cream all year round. I dont care if its –20 degrees outside, I need my ice cream. I love Carvel, I prefer it over Baskin Robbins, but this Carvel is nothing special. Its really small. The ice cream doesnt always taste right. SUPEREXPENSIVE. I think all of the locations have the same prices, but damnnn Carvel is expensive. Last night, I ordered a kids size birthday cake mix and its came out to $ 3.59! barely one scoop. I do like the fact that they’re open late and everybody who works there is really nice. I only live 5 minutes away so I’m going to have to stick with this one.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOOOVE Carvel. But the closest Carvel to where I live is nothing to rave about. Really small with hardly any seating. Came in here once for a one day«free Lil’ Rounder» promotion and lo and behold they were out of them. And it was only 2pm. Instead I got a 59 cent small cone because I didn’t want to leave empty handed. The promotion was advertised on a small sign in the window but nothing inside so most people didn’t even know about it. But the lines were still long. Guess it’ll do for now but definitely visit here minimally, especially since you can find Carvel ice cream cakes in supermarkets.
