nice place to grab a drink with a friend and chat. they have beer on tap or by the bottles. not a place to order mixed drinks in my opinion. liquor by the bottle is priced fairly @ $ 120 for jameson, grey goose, hennessey vsop, or johnnie walker black label. they will save the bottle for you for 1 month free of charge if you can’t finish. staff is extremely friendly, warm and will make you feel right at home. there is a chinese restaurant located directly downstairs so ordering food is quick and easy.

I went here a few nights with my bf and others. It’s a really cool and clean spot. The music is great and makes you want to get up and dance. The drinks were really good and strong lol. The only bad thing is the smoking…

I had the pleasure of spending a late night here a few years back. It was awesome. So awesome in fact, that I wrote a poem about it! This poem is in my new book of poetry officially launching on 3÷20÷15. A Stack of Napkins 1989 – 2014 A collection of bar and drink musings (Poetry and photography by Michael P. D’Arco) Available on Amazon at It ends like this… «…at 4 am We are all just people Drunk Happy Friends» Cheers!

This place is really cool. Who would have known that an Asian spot is known for their oysters! Since I got food poisoning(I think) from Grand Central Oyster Bar I have kinda been staying away from oysters unfortunately until I get the craving again. I had a few of my friends and it wasn’t bad. the fried chicken chunks were really good and the drinks were top notch! Really cool bartenders and very friendly. I’d come again.

This place was awesome. The oysters were delicious, and the lobster roll was amazing! Will definitely stop back here in my travels through flushing. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I believe it is now BYOB. They did not serve alcohol and shown in the pictures advertised. Apparently this is for Oyster cave underneath the bar so this review is not for the actual bar.

This review is for OYSTERCAVE, the restaurant under China Bar that is owned by the same owner. They have raw oysters, lobster rolls, shrimp rolls, great new england clam chowder, perfect crème brûlée, and one of the best juiciest rib eye steaks I’ve ever had. I can’t believe that this delicious high-end American seafood place is located in a basement in Flushing. Their menu is pretty small, but their seafood is really fresh and cooked very well. This place is really like a hidden gem. I hope they get more business, it’s a shame that no one knows about it! Check it out!!!

I’m actually quite surprised by some of the negative remarks on China Bar. I think people have a different expectation of bars in Flushing. People, remember this is Flushing, where speaking Chinese or Korean is not just probably but definitely an advantage at any store that you walk into, well except for the fast food chain restaurants, Macys and etc… Contrary to what some of the other people say here, this is actually one of the cheapest bars in the Flushing area. Beers are only $ 5 whether they are bottled or on tap and bottles are the standard price as all other bars. And as another review states, sometimes the owner gives you a round free. I actually used to come here pretty often and would get free rounds and even 10% off my bill when the lady owner was around. I can’t say this is my favorite bar cause I don’t really speak Mandarin and can’t communicate with most of the bartenders, but it’s not a bad place to get a buzz on for cheap.

Charged me $ 60 for two pitchers of coors light… and then the people behind the bar apparently could only speak English enough to yell at me that this was the price and I had to pay. Other than that it’s a cramped bar with doodoo drinks with people screaming in the street outside. What a joke, not coming back here.

I love karaōke. It allows me to rock out with my cock out. China Bar has a street level floor and also basement level. The street level floor is where the karaōke is done, whereas the lower level is more for lounging. If you have yellow fever, this bar is it. Once my crew and I walked in, we were immediately ushered downstairs by the hostess, even though upstairs wasn’t by any means packed. To this day we weren’t given an answer as to why that was. The lower level is nice, and the bar extends the length of the space. on the bar counter there were a series of cups dispered with about 5 to 6 die in each. I asked the bartender what they were for, but she couldn’t explain it in english. The owner overheard our questions while behind the bar a few seats away and walked over to attempt to explain. After about 10 minutes, I was still completely clueless. The entertainment value from that time however was priceless. Heh. As we were getting ready to leave, the owner said that we could hang out upstairs and sing karaōke. I’m sure he didn’t want his profits to walk out to one of his competitors. He even bought each of us a brew on the house. Nice touch. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again, but if I’m ever in Flushing I’d definitely swing through, at the very least to pre-game. Go Red Sox. *Beantowns Finest*

This bar was below average, the drinks are overpriced and the bartenders add drinks that were never ordered on your tab and fight you about it later when you are trying to leave. The music was extremely loud and was karaōke. It takes forever order a beer despite the low amount of patrons in the bar. After you order the beer expect to wait even longer because the bartenders don’t actually serve from the bar. They get their beer from downstairs and run it up to you. Also they run out of beer on draft and serve you the scum from the bottom of the keg and still charge you full price for a 2⁄3 glass of beer. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. The bar does however serve free peanuts and the bartenders are pretty good looking, but they don’t speak English that well.

The name of this bar is perfect. I felt like I was in china and I’ve never been to china. Every time I come here, its filled with older men in their late 30s to 50s. I love the chips in the back… you just keep on eating and eatig and eating. Nothing special or wonderful about it. Just a place to hang out and drink and drink and sing
