Horrible! I ordered pancakes with fruit and I got moldy fruit! Seriously never go there unless you want to eat horrible food…

I picked up my fiancée from JFK around 11 pm and looked for a good place to eat. We ended up here around 11.30 pm. I was surprised to find their parking lot full even at that time. We got seated promptly. Service was attentive. Food was mostly good. I wish they had given enough sauce with pasta. Though server brought more on side when asked. For some reason that sauce was blend. Still will go there again.

Just your average diner. If you’re in flushing and need some quick food check them out. Generous proportions and good service.

I am so glad I came here on a Tuesday. The Tuesday omelette special was beast. Everything was just about under $ 10 and came with an omelette, home fries(or a similar potato dish), choice of soup, and coffee. It was honestly a pretty sweet breakfast deal. I had no complaints about the food, it was decent, especially for the price. The service was prompt and was friendly. If you are in the area and are looking for a breakfast spot, come to North Shore Diner! There is valet parking here. Parking around the local area should not be too difficult.

Food here is very mediocre and a little overpriced for what you’re getting. Their menu is way too big and they would do much better with a smaller menu. Wait staff is pretty efficient. Not a fan of the packaged milk(for coffee) and packaged fake syrup for pancakes. They should get real maple syrup! The best part about this place is that it’s open 24 hours. The valet service seems a bit out of place but I guess it makes sense during super busy hours? Please please please reduce your menu and offer better quality food. This place is not exactly a bargain but I’m willing to pay the price for slightly better food and presentation.

Do you like cold food, soggy bacon, and terrible eggs and hash browns? Then Come to north shore diner, where the food is terrible the the service is worse. I ordered the hash browns and they came in wet and soggy along with my greasy bacon that was also soggy. And to not mention the eggs that had the consistency of oatmeal. I do not recommend. Bayside diner shits on this place.

Great diner that’s open all night. Good to come to after a night out. The food is good.

No frills, classic diner stuck in 90s décor. Breakfast was good and quick with reasonable prices. Staff was friendly and the place was relatively clean. I like how it wasn’t overly crowded.

Long-ish wait(upward to 15 minutes) but kind staff(our waitress was attentive but disappeared and forgot a few things we asked for). I’m kind of weird about ice-less, warm water and my corned beef and hash was a bit underwhelming but it was there. The coffee was super burnt so no thanks to a second cup. Also, who serves a burger on a roll instead of a bun? That was weird and according to my partner during this meal that the pickle was good and the coleslaw was… icky. Thanks, but no thanks.

If I could pick no stars I would. Sorry– but when I become sick from your food just ONCE I’ll never go to your establishment again. I ordered a chicken soup and not twenty mins later I was sick to my stomach in the bathroom all night. NEVERAGAIN! Clearly something was wrong with the soup because it’s pretty rare that a soup will make you that sick. Perhaps left out too long, not a cleanly area around it, or just plain bad. I don’t know– but I’ll never set foot in there again or recommend it to anybody.

Ambiance: diner… Nothing special Service: came here at 2:30am and we got seated in the corner… Cool no big deal IF they had someone paying attention to the said corner, we had to get up and go find someone to take our order then at the end of of the meal stand up and walk over to ask for the check. Oh yeah I carried my leftover food to them to pack too Food: generous portions in my opinion, but nothing special for me to crave going back All in all not my first pick of diners to eat in the area… Due to service sorry not sorry

I am all about the dependable diner. Like a trusty old blanket, it is neither flashy nor modern but fits the bill when you just want something familiar. North Shore Diner has been around for ages and I’ve stopped in here quite a few times over the past few years to grab a quick bite. Efficiency is a huge plus here — I’m always greeted and seated within seconds of walking through the door and food and water glasses are bussed to and from tables at a quick, no-nonsense tempo. Prices and menu offerings are what you’d expect from any diner, and generally(as with any order) the more conventional one’s order, the better. For instance, my friend ordered from the omelette specials, which came with toast, a choice of potatoes, and a cup of soup and found it ‘just fine’. My own veggie burger deluxe was as good as one could expect, although the patty was cooked a little too soft and was already crumbling in my hands a few bites in. The fries that accompanied my meal were fresh, hot, and crispy, with a healthy helping to boot. On any given hour, this is a bustling diner, with folks seeming to enjoy their meals left and right. On my last visit, I overheard another table complaining about their egg salad(they didn’t know it came atop a bed of greens) and I was impressed with how quickly and uncomplainingly the waiter whisked it away to get her another plate. My friend and I last came on a hot, summer afternoon but it was brisk and chilly in here, to the point where I needed to run and grab a hoodie from the car just to keep my teeth from chattering. While the food does nothing to grab and wow anyone, this is a decent place to nosh if you want a place that turns out solid diner fare.

Been here a bunch of times now. I’ve never had a problem getting a seat, unlike the rival Blue Bay Diner, which is very often packed. Their Greek salad with chicken is nice, big, and refreshing and comes with 2 stuffed grape leaves. The lobster bisque is a thick purée, likely from a mix — the opposite of what I was expecting, but I still liked it a lot. The Greek chicken lemon soup is done better, more like homemade — good and lemony. The chicken gyro really hits the spot. The chicken is cut into scallops and then stacked into the pita — I’ve never seen it done that way before. I’m a fan of their mashed potatoes, which comes with a side of dark rich gravy — twice now I’ve ordered it alone! It’s a nice generous serving when ordered as a side. I wish they put more effort into their drinks — the strawberry milk shake tastes like it was made with strawberry powder, not real strawberries or ice cream. Egg cream was disappointing, too, like it was made in 2 seconds without any thought. Both are served in kind of unappealing plastic«glasses» — would it be so hard to put these diner classics in a real glass? This is a typical, super-busy diner, so servers are switched out constantly, which is confusing. I wish the servers could also be more attentive, especially with refilling water. Other than that, this diner is clean and reliable — despite the few complaints I’ll continue coming by.

Yuck. What did I just eat here. We came here on a sunday at noon and was seated right away. This place had a decent amount of customers. I ordered the grilled chicken cheddar mushroom sandwich with French fries and my husband ordered the spinach and mushroom omelet with home fries and a side of wheat toast. Portions were huge for sure but the taste was awful. The omelet was dry, bland and had a funky almost feet taste. Most awful omelet ever. And how can you mess up an omelet?! My chicken sandwich was huge. It was served opened and I’ve never seen a piece of chicken breast that big. It was served on a roll and the chicken breast spread from one end of the roll to the other end of the other roll(see my picture). It must have been a giant chicken to have some breast meat that huge! But the flavor was just not good. It was very dry, and did not have much flavor on it. I would have much preferred a chicken sandwich from Wendy’s. The French fries were even bad. how can a diner serve bad fries?! Oh and even the pickle that came with the sandwich tasted awful. Think it was not fresh. Service was good however. I feel bad for the waitress to work at such a diner that serves such poor quality of food. Won’t be back again

Diner food. This phrase may invoke a feeling of disgust, a hungry stomach, or perhaps just a neutral feeling. because…diners. This place is one of the neutral feeling diners. Typical diner food. Omelettes, sandwiches, some salads. nothing here was special(except for maybe the vegetarian reuben). My server was nice, but did not deliver any customer service. I don’t blame him for being in his older years and not being able to hear/read the menu, but he almost messed up our order. and he didn’t know what was in most of the options. With that being said, the food will satisfy you when you’re hungry(big servings), and they’re open 24 hours.

I would love to give North Shore Diner a five star review, but that is based purely on nostalgia. Since I was 14 years old, I’ve found myself in this diner for any number of reasons– at every hour of the day. They always have been 24 hours. Places that are open 24 hours always have a special place in my heart. Over the years the food has been consistent. Consistently typical Diner food. Nothing bad. Just nothing that says«elevated cuisine». Which if you are expecting at a diner, says more about you than the diner. It’s clean, solid service and oddly– a valet. You can’t go wrong eating here. Just don’t bring a first date. Unless you are both diner food enthusiasts.

North Shore is one of our regular restaurant stops because they have good comfort food you’d want from your neighborhood diner. There are dinner specials every night, usually with choices of fish, pork, beef & lambs entrees and each would come with soup, salad, vegetable & potato with coffee & dessert included. Not much of a better deal anywhere. Who doesn’t like soup?! Soup is always my favorite. They have 4 – 5 daily choices like chicken noodle, matzoh ball, cream of turkey, Manhattan clam chowder and lentil, navy bean or split pea on most days. My son even invented his own bread bowl made with a hollowed out dinner roll from the bread basket and filled it with cream of broccoli soup. Breakfast is always a good idea as they serve it all day so that you can get your eggs, bacon and pancakes at any meal. The burgers are a good choice also because they flame grill them and you taste the smokey charred difference from one made on a flat top grill. Plus they’re served on toasted kaiser rolls, so no soggy buns here and the patty is as big as the roll! You’ll appreciate this if you get one with a sauce like a pizza burger. Finish off your meal with a slice of pie or cake(included with dinner specials) or take it home with you. Service is always congenial and if you want to make substitutions, they’re always willing to accommodate. There’s valet parking too!
