At 1 pm, we had an empty stomach and a full bowl of «The Moose» salad, with romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, celery, sliced tomato, blue cheese crumbles, carrots and the Shack’s signature crunches. Roughly 30 minutes later, the stomach was satisfyingly filled and the large clam shell-shaped bowl was completely empty. Every last carrot sliver. Hard to believe this excellent salad specialty shop has been so close to my workplace for so long and I never found it on my own. Thank heavens for Unilocal that I discovered such a new favorite. Glad for all you excellent reviewers for your raves. They’ve got other choices, sandwiches and wraps, yogurt and sweet treats. And I really can’t wait to check out the smoothies soon. So good, so friendly, so convenient and so yummy.

OMG!!! This place is the spot. I always make sure I save lots of room before I come because im OBSESSED with this food. I am not a fan of salads but this place makes the best salads, sandwiches and much more. I came in here a few days ago and was greeted by the sweetest girl named Caitlin. She helped me choose a good Moose Sandwich paired with Passion Fruit Bubble Tea and I asked for help picking out a dessert. She recommended the Tapioca Pudding. Boy was I in heaven. This place has amazing people like Caitlin that make you want to go back time and time again. I also usually order on Grub Hub and Seamless since I’ve become an official Salad Shack Addict. Love this place! Highly Recommended.

Got food poisoning here and it ended up that my friend did too the same week. I don’t know why so many people are raving about it. It’s kind of bland if you ask me. Haven’t been back since I got sick

I like their superman salad. It has chick peas, edamame, chicken, eggs, mixed greens, cashews and beets if you want but I skipped the beets. The dressing is a light balsamic vinegarette. I didn’t like the strawberry salad, it was just some fruits mixed in with romaine lettuce.

I stopped in here one evening for the famous salads and enjoyed my own DIY-Do It Yourself salad. There were a few people in front of me and I had to wait awhile before I ordered which was great to have additional time to figure out what I want before I get to the register looking like duh. LOL My salad was romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, corn, cucumbers, soy beans and tangerine slices equals yummy! The salad was a bit pricey. However, it was fulfilling and I ate it all one sitting. I also ordered the green tea bubble tea which was a great combination. The staff were friendly and answered my questions with no attitudes. I remember parking was limited in the area and there wasn’t a lot of commercial stores in the immediate area. This is definitely a spot I would check out again.

I used to eat there often until I found an insect in my salad. I called to complain n the mangers spoke to me like it was ok n that they are sorry about it. n refunded my money. second time I ordered it i found hair this time when I called to complain. the manager insisted me about getting something else or to get another salad. I am disgusted by the place. not happy about it at all.

My boss decided to treat me to lunch so I told her that we should try out the spot salad shack — literally, exactly one block away from my job. Soo glad we chose here. Let me just say — for everyone complaining about the pricing — you go to a diner to order any of these salads, you will get half the portion for the same price & probably one fourth of the quality. They give you a verrrry good amount of salad. I built my own salad. Ice berg lettuce, corn, chick peas, beets, croutons topped off with Ceasar dressing. The — freaking — bomb. I literally had to pause half way through eating to write this review. Skimming through the menu, they also have some pre-made salad recipes that all look amazing. Offer wraps, soups & even organic juices. YUM. The staff were very friendly. The girl that helped me was friendly. I was so confused on the dressing, she offered me half-half on the salad, on the side. It’s great to know they have those options. From now on, if I don’t bring my lunch with me, this is my go-to. Can’t wait to go back & try one of their juices!

This is The Promised Land of Salad! So many unique options, dressings, teas and organic juices. I never visit Flushing without having my fix of BoBo Tea. In search of tea, I stumbled upon Salad Shack. It was almost high noon and I was famished, so I GPS’ d it and found parking close by. I was greeted by Ian who was polite, prompt and professional. I reviewed the menu and decided on Salad To Riches. Walnuts, cranberries, parmesan cheese, tomato, cucumber on a bed of romaine spring mix featuring a Mango Vinegarette dressing. I paired my salad with a Taro Green Bubble Tea with tapioca balls. The Taro Milk Green tea was light, refreshing and not overly sweetened. Everything was finger lickin good. This place is nothing but a blessing to lunch breaks. Service and the cost effective quality of the food won my heart over.

I had never ordered from Salad shack before or have even seen it yet. I live fairly close to the place but never saw it on union ever. Last week, sporadically, I decided to order off GrubHub and went with Salad Shack, after seeing some really good reviews and pictures. I ordered a rice bowl, a sandwich, and some soup, since I was especially hungry and also had to meet their minimum. Got a call from Salad Shack a few mins after placing my order, and they said they were out of the soup I wanted, so I had to pick something else. No big deal. I’m sitting here expecting the food to take 45 – 60 minutes. Trust me when I say, 20 minutes later my foods at my door. That’s fine by my standards. I dig into my rice bowl and wrap, and they’re both delicious. The Clam Chowder wasn’t too«sandy» and everything was pretty delicious. I was pretty filled up by the end of it. Good job Salad Shack!

I was so excited to try it, and then let down when I finally did. When one enters the place, it’s cute and brightly lit… but the fly zapper on the wall is a major eyesore. The employees were very nice. I was helped by the gentleman with the blue eyes, and he was really helpful in explaining difference in toppings, etc. I ended up getting the Stairway to Strawberry salad and a Lemonade Green Tea. The salad… eh. The employee went to the back to get more«Strawberry Vinaigrette» dressing — I saw him in the back mixing dressings from these two industrial size containers. I asked for dressing on the side — it looks«fresh,» but really isn’t. When I brought my food home, I was let down. The salad was 90% lettuce. The chicken tasted rubbery, and they skimp on cheese. When I put the dressing on, it made it worse. The dressing tastes/is artificial. I felt as if I’d put strawberry jam on my salad. I ended up having a plate full of lettuce left when I finished — I could barely eat it, and I felt queasy after. As for the lemonade green tea, the taste is also very artifical. It also has a very sour taste, as if lemon juice from those green bottles at the grocery store was used. $ 13 for artificial tasting dressing, a ton of lettuce, and an upset stomach. Extra star for the nice employees.

I realllllly love their Passion Fruit slush with black tapioca balls. Also, I’ve ordered delivery a few times and almost always get a customized salad with a soup on the side. Always delish. Fresh ingredients. They delivered the wrong soup once and the manager was kind enough to offer a refund but I opted for them to send me the correct soup instead. Great customer service.

I never get any of the teas when I’m there, so I can’t say much about them. The salads are great; everything always tastes fresh. I’ve never been disappointed with them. A few times I thought maybe they could add more dressing, but the one time I asked for a little extra(and the guy added just a little extra), it was too soggy. I was wrong. The burrito bowl thing is okay; I think it tries to be like Chipotle or Qdoba, but it’s not close. The barley option is cool. Soups are from Hale and Hearty. Meh. Salads are what you want from here. Staff is good. Always friendly.

I have to agree with Emily Y, they lose a star because of their price. I ordered the Moose salad and it was good. The place is nice and clean with a few tables and a nice counter to look out onto Union Tpke. The staff was great and helpful. They also were ready to handle the lunch crowd. I will stop by next time I’m in the area as it looks for certain that its the best choice around. Maybe i’ll check out a tea or smoothie.

I worked so close to this place for almost two years before ever realizing that Salad Shack existed! That is ridiculous! Sitting in traffic one day, I noticed the colorful, inviting shack sitting on the side of the street. I made a mental note to stop in for lunch one day, and I have visited a few times ever since! Tiny little counter service restaurant that is decorated in bright colors and is very clean. Let’s be honest… I’m so NOT a fan of healthy eating. I’m really against all of the Kale propaganda I see lately. This place makes me excited to eat salad. There are SO many unique salads on the menu, and you are also free to make your own salad. Any salad can be made into a wrap. My favorites are the«mutzerel and tomato»(lettuce, cherry tomato, sliced tomato, mozzarella, cucumber, olives and ham) and the«king of queens»(lettuce, turkey, ham, cheese, corn, croutons, and tomatoes) salads. Prices can be a little steep, but you get soooooo much. I never thought I’d be full and satisfied from a freakin’ salad! The soups here are i.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e and they get changed every day. Bubble tea here is awesome. Everyone behind the counter is very friendly and willing to take their time to explain everything. Definitely my favorite go to lunch spot. Highly recommend checking it out!

I love me some salad shack !! It’s three blocks from my house so I like to stop after work for some iced coco-coffee and some cookies ! I’ve never tried their salads but I can vouch for their soups… it’s just delicious, as well as their coffee and cookies. They also make fresh juices, I love those too. This said I have a juicer so I only buy those once in a while when laziness sets in. And the staff is great !! They are all extremely nice and welcoming. That alone deserves 5 stars !!

Stopped in after the gym. Place looks clean staff is really friendly. I gave 4 stars because It was my first time here and I was a bit lost. Nobody acknowledged the fact that I was just standing there but I guess they were just busy. Amazing place for a group of friends just grabbing lunch. I got a lentil soup and it was awesome.(Vegan) And a large salad. Best lunch ever! Soups are from hale and hearty.

I am just not sure. I am indifferent about coming here. Yes, they have fresh salads, but something is just off about the salads. It doesn’t always come together nicely for me. It might be the dressings… I can’t put my finger on it. Anyway I have had a good wrap or two and they carry hale and hearty soups. I am always perplexed as to why there isn’t kale here? I find that rather odd. My friend loves the milk tea. I think the juices are alright, they are not cold pressed or strained, but the best you will get around the area. Excuse me, I am just a juice snob. One other thing that I always find so bizarre are the employees. Do the three men ever leave? They are oddly nice and weird. Like creep me out weird. They stop delivering at nine so it is not the place to call when you craving food late at night. Overall decent for this area, it was much needed.

Two stars for the good service and trendy place. I made my own salad with romaine lettuce. I got most of the ends and the veggie was already changing color. Okay, I did go at like 630pm but like, seriously? I was craving salad and was hoping to satisfy it with Salad Shack, but it was a disappointment. I also got the Italian wedding soup, it was alright, nothing too special.
