20 Dollars minimum charge… not cool. Places I’ve been to have 5 to 10 dollars, 20 is rare for a «supermarket». Going back to Hmart and Walbaums.

This supermarket is very convenient compared to other places. You don’t need to drive down into the center of Flushing to find/pay parking and hassle with pedestrian who J-walk and deal with some careless drivers because there is a free private parking lot behind the supermarket. In addition, this supermarket is right by the exit 23 of LIE. The bad things about this supermarket is that it lacks of variety in their product offering, lighting is dim, and there is some smell as if the air filtering of the place is not running properly.

Wish I could give zero stars. This supermarket is my family’s go to market. It’s closer to our house than all the super markets in Flushing. Plus, they have ample parking. I never had a problem with this place until today. I took my mom grocery shopping today and she wanted to buy some spare ribs. You are able to request which piece of meat/poultry/fish you’d like. My mom asked the butcher behind the counter to give her one of the ones closer to the front. The butcher gave her the biggest attitude and picked one near the back. My mom asked him again to give her the one from the front. He goes off and starts yelling at my mom telling her that every piece is the same. My mom asked him if there’s any trouble for him to give her the piece in the front… And he said there isn’t. So she asked again if he could give her the one in the front. He continues to berate her in front of everyone and finally picks up the piece in the front. My mom then asks him why is he acting that way. And he continues to yell. So finally my mom is tells him to get the manager. And he says, «GOGETTHEMANAGER! GO!!» So my mom takes the meat and walks away. Meanwhile I’m standing there and I don’t move. He then looks at me and keeps on staring. So I’m like, what is your problem? Why are you talking to customers like that? And he’s starts yelling at me. So I tell him to go get his manager and he won’t. My mom tells me to forget it and just leave. I’ve never had such terrible customer service at this supermarket. The guy has beady little eyes and usually wears a hat. Stay away at all cost.

I was recommended to go to this store by a friend of mine because they have a good selection of life wish. Yes they do have a great selection of life fish etc. But this place needs some renovation I personally think they would double their business just because of that they also have a great selection of meat, chicken and etc.

I guess this is a neighborhood Asian grocery for the area. The place is not well kept(cleanliness) compare to the last time I stopped in two years ago. The parking lot in the back is very small. The selection of products is average and some were limited; I was looking for large eggs and they only have medium size. Vegetables did not look fresh. I could not find anything that will make me want to come back.

Located nearby the LIE495 and on Flushing’s Main Street is a Chinese supermarket. In hopes of attaining fresh fruits, Chinese vegetables, and groceries this supermarket does not have much options geared to Cantonese cuisine and does not appear fresh. Rancid vegetables. Slippery floor and staff are disgruntled with big nasty attitudes. Extremely overpriced.

The supermarket is convenient located a block away from the LIE495 and on main street. Its not as busy as the main street by the 7 train, which makes this supermarket a lot less crowded than those on the 7 train side. They have their own parking lot, which is nice. However, if its all taken, its not a huge deal because there’s residential parking right around the corner. Prices here are always around the same and things don’t really go on sale. They have a great seafood section and you can tell the meat is always fresh since there’s always a lot of people buying meats and seafood, you know that they always need to restock with new food. I don’t like the cleanliness and the lighting of the supermarket, it appears to be rundown and old. But this place has been around for quite some time now. I think its time to make this place look nicer so that they can attract more customers.

Come here when you want sad but cheap produce or if you just feel the need to assault your olfactory senses with the smell of slightly rancid seafood. The floors are always slightly muddied and stained, which isn’t necessarily a must-have for a supermarket, but it just adds to the feeling of ‘ick’ that pervades as soon as you walk in. It’s a good market to visit in a pinch, particularly if you suddenly realize you need those long beans or a jar of hoisin sauce(read: ingredients typically used in Asian cooking). They do have a small section for non-Asian groceries but this is primarily a Chinese market, and the prices are marked with an obvious disdain for people who are dropping in for boxes of cereal(some of which are nearly $ 5-$ 6). I recently found this to be a good thing when I came about $ 5 shy of the $ 20 credit card minimum. Throw in some ketchup and Goya beans, and my bill was immediately bumped up to a plastic-friendly $ 21.75. There’s a private parking lot out back but it can get pretty busy, depending on what time you go. High density hours seem to be around dinnertime, when you see every car on the street turning into that dinky lot. Top that with the fact that the lot is shared with the Napa Auto Shop next door and you’ve got a good chance that you might have to wait a few minutes for parking during market prime time.

There are many supermarket in Flushing, this supermarket is below average. It’s small with limited selections. I give it 2 stars because there’s parking spaces available at it’s back.

OK – so I needed to buy lobsters and figured I’d check out this Asian market since it has the closest fish market(that sells shellfish) from KGH. I walk in and the smell of fish is extremely strong. «No big deal,» I tell myself. They sell a lot of fish and it may just be an off day. So, I go to the fish section and I see the lobster tank. There are literally 200 lobsters(probably more) crammed into what seems like a large size fish tank people would have in their homes to hold a few goldfish. Not good. I grab one of the workers attention and tell them I need some lobsters. The older Asian gentleman smirks, nods his head, and walks over to a bucket of sorts and pulls out a lobster. He holds it up, and with a grin exclaims«JUSTDIEDJUSTDIED.» It took me a second, but I quickly realized this man was trying to sell me dead lobsters. I looked at him in an unmeasured manner and said«no way.» Seriously? Did this man sit next to the lobster on its death bed and hold its claw before it died? Please!!! And, most importantly, what did they die from? Multiple dead lobsters«just died» on one day? Don’t they realize how unlawful and unsafe it is to sell dead lobsters? From the look of the tank, there were probably many many LONGDEAD lobsters buried in this insanely packed lobster tank. At this point, though, I was in a pinch and had guests coming over and needed lobsters. Should I just hop on the LIE and go to Fairway, or risk delving into the«live» lobster tank? I figured as long as I made sure they were alive, and I had it smoldering in a pot of boiling water to cook, we’d be fine. The man packed up my live lobsters and I proceeded to the checkout. The cashier looked beyond miserable, and barely raised her hand to give me my change.(I am not even factoring customer service into my one star rating, as I know Flushing is notorious for nonexistent customer service so I usually don’t even pay it any mind. But it was enigmatic of the store as a whole.) I feel bad for Queensboro Hill. Needless to say, I will never be back to this gross place again!

This place smells terrible. Even worse than other asian supermarkets. Other than asian products, good luck finding anything else that you’re looking for.
