Did not come here for karaōke or have any food(I only had water) but was with a group who came here after a nearby event. The frozen margarita looked good and my group had no complaints about their food or drink. At the time of day we went(a late afternoon/early evening on Saturday), it was a very quiet, intimate place with a dark but sexy and comfortable ambiance. I’d come here with a group for karaōke or to hang out.

It’s been some time since my awful review I thought I’d give an update. The happy hour deals here are pretty good. Their beer selection isn’t awful. It’s got a decent variety for a non-hipster area and their snacks are pretty good too. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken is personally my favorite. They’ve also got multiple TV’s at the bar so you can come and watch some games if you don’t have cable TV at home. The negative and i think it’s a really big negative, the bar staff lingers on the side of the bar that has no seats. It’s not an exaggeration to say you have to do jumping jacks to get someone’s attention. It’s a buzz kill. Minus 2 stars.

Always a good time at good old zebra, wide slection of drinks and some yummy food options. It isn’t a bad spot to bump into some fellow friends either. KTV or bar shabu is also an option, check it out =)

Okay for 10 – 12 people max for karaōke. The place is clean and the service is good. The food is okay, typical chinese food plates. Karaōke has mainly asian music and it is hard to find typical american songs. The rooms are small, for nommore than 10 people each. It is nice to have a bathroom jn the karaōke room but rhey also have some outside.

Better selection of songs as compared to other karaōke places in both Manhattan and Flushing. Food and drinks are decent and deductible from the bill. The rooms are very spacious. The only thing I that draws me back from giving it a 5 star is the price.

This place is definitely much better than a lot of Manhattan karaōke places, in terms of both food selection and price tag. And it is completely empty even on Memorial Day weekends. Lots of new songs have been added recently, impressively good! Nothing to really complain about, except that you would have to walk a bit, if you are taking the subway.

Really nice atmosphere and relatively up to date selection of songs! The leather chairs are super comfy and some are rearrangeable to suit your party needs. The room’s system is easy enough to work since the commands are listed in English. They do still have an extensive selection of Asian songs as well as English songs. The way the room pricing still confuses me but I’m not going to question it. If you have a large room, the rate is $ 70 per hour. With that comes a $ 70 credit which you can spend on food and drinks. So with every hour, whatever you order under the room gets deducted from your total when they bring you the bill at the end. So if you want to order a few pitchers of beer, that gets deducted from your room price! It’s a great deal, I usually pay under $ 20 when I’m there with a group of ~20 people. If you’re celebrating a birthday, don’t be shy to bring a birthday cake. They can keep it in the fridge/freezer for you and provide plates/cake cutter/forks when you’re ready to serve your guests. Overall the service is pretty good and they’re readily attentive when you ring the button to hail them over. Fair warning though; if you’re coming with people that are under 21+, you won’t be able to drink inside the room. You’ll have to order and finish your drinks at the bar but these can be deducted from the room bill.

This was my first time visiting this place and from the reviews that a friend gave I had to visit. Its a spacious and inviting space with a big bar and many flat screens to watch sporting events. I didn’t experience the karaōke, but hearing the booming sound system it seems like it was a rocking good time downstairs. The bar is stocked amply and the wait staff was very attentive and served up super strong drinks from a innovative drink menu.

Let me save you some time: there’s no Zebra Lounge #1, guys. This is the one and only granddaddy of any other Zebra Lounges you were confused with. Don’t waste your time finding the location that doesn’t exist. Zebra Lounge is a more upscale KTV lounge than most lounges and karaōke bars in Flushing. The higher-end prices clearly reflect its ambiance of this place: it is more modern(as shown through its décor) and trendy, which knocks most of the rundown places off the list, if you’re not into that. I have a love-hate relationship with this place. I have never freely chosen this place(because it is out of my price range for Flushing), but my friends seem to have ditched the old-school, fobby karaōke lounge scene and upgraded to one that sort of aligns with our«wants». The prices here are as equivalent to any Manhattan bar. But hey, can’t complain about free edamame that comes with your food. The karaōke lounge is pretty good. There’s a bathroom in each room, which is a plus. My friend recently had his birthday here and we ordered a ton of snacks and two bottles. For the amount we paid to book the room for the entire night, a bunch of appetizers and two bottles, it was undoubtedly not a cheap night, but at least give us a little something like Maru did! The music selection is a hit and miss – lots of old school(for my generation) songs. Hell, they even have Fetty Wap’s «Trap Queen,» so you know it’s somewhat current.

I have been here almost 10 times and I am almost always happy with the karaōke experience. The venue is muchhhh nicer than what you can find in Koreatown in Manhattan — it’s more trendy, modern, and spacious. There is a nice bar with 4 big screen TVs. Their rooms have nice black couches and chairs, and don’t have weird tacky decorations. The prices are reasonable and vary on what size room you get. The medium and larger rooms have their own private bathrooms which is amazing. From Thurs-Sat, the prices double. You can get food or drinks using the money you pay for the room, just like most karaōke places in Flushing. The appetizers that you can order in the room are awesome! There’s chicken wings, fries, sliders, sweet potato fries, gyoza, fried shrimp, beef teriyaki rolls, and more. Everything is really good(especially when you’re drunk). You press a button on the wall and a waiter comes to take your order on an iPad. You can also dim or brighten the lights in the room however you want, which I love. The screen for karaōke is large and the selection is very good. My friends and I usually sing English songs and they have the top radio hits. The microphones rarely run out of battery, but when they do, the staff will replace it immediately. Overall, I’ve created amazing memories at Zebra Lounge, and the only times I didn’t, I was at fault(don’t bring people who are under 21 if you want to drink). Definitely my go-to karaōke spot.

First things first. Get the chicken tenders, it’s actually really good. I have come here for a couple years but never really made a review. Had many good experiences with the service and drinks. If you want to sing and drink, they have karaōke rooms down in the basement with a room phone and a personal bathroom. If you have a group of friends and just want to chill, they have around ~5 lounges with TVs everywhere. Decent selection of draft beers, around 12 bucks average. Overall, a nice place to go on a friday night if you want to hang out, or catch up with friends.

Drinks are exceptional but DONOTCOMEHEREFORHOTPOT. Their hot pot is just really poor quality. First off, an order of rice cake is 2.75 and they only give you 12 rice cakes on the damn plate for for almost $ 3. This place is a rip total off, 7 extra bucks for more meat and not filling at all. You’re better off paying $ 36 for a hot pot buffet. I also asked for rice on the side. If you’re going to give me left over rice, make sure it has been stored in the fridge on the night before. The rice had a ridiculously gross sour smell. The bill came out to be $ 90 for two people including a mojito and a martini. I have no complaints about the drinks. I still generously left $ 15 tip but I would not come back here to eat again. The service was average too, this one female waitress does not know how to smile. As a waitress, you basically live off your tips. So learn to be friendly to your customers.

Came here last night for a friend’s party. They had a large private room for karaōke. I liked the fact that there’s a private bathroom and the room is large with comfy seats. The music selection is expansive with a modern touch screen. The service was also great. They brought food and drinks quickly and kept the tables clean. The food was also decent, although I was bummed that they took off the mac and cheese bites.

Came here on a date during the week. The place smelled like old dish water. There were no other customers so the same staff just crowded the bar and watched tv. I ordered a lychee martini which was very weak and my date had a frozen margarita that was completely ice. Our bartender was nice and the place was cute but that’s the only positive.

Came here for a drink with a friend and as soon as you walk in you are welcomed with the stench of dirty dish water or damp clothes. The place was completely empty(2 hrs before closing) so we decided to sit at the bar. We were greeted by the bartender and ordered our drinks. I ordered the lychee martini which was good but kind of weak and my date had a frozen margarita. His drink was completely ice. We finished are drinks and left because the smell was just too much

Happy hour until 7pm — ½ beers only. Ranging from $ 3.5−5. But if it’s not HH, think about paying double that for a beer in Flushing. There’s many other places in Flushing that you can grab a drink. The bartenders and managers here aren’t that friendly here. They don’t like to hold a conversation and my friends and I are regulars! We come every week here until as of recently we found another HH spot close by.

I have been here many times and I like the place. I just found out that they are the same people who do Minnie’s Shabu Shabu next door, awesome, I can get Minnie’s Hotpot without waiting on the Minnie’s line. I also enjoy coming to the bar and snacking on the bar foods while watching the game but their hotpot game is pretty on point. In terms of the décor, the place is more of a modern, dark, adult version of Minnie’s just with a bar, rice items and a few karaōke rooms. The food: Bar Section Taiwanese Salt & Peppered Popcorn Chicken– MSG for the win! I don’t care if it’s in it, the chicken is awesome, borderline addictive. I think this should be ordered. Home Style Beef Noodle Soup– I think the version here was good. The broth had a nice depth of flavor, the noodles had good texture and the beef was nice and tender. Pork Chop over Rice– I thought the version here was decent. It was pretty standard and nothing to write home about. Shabu Shabu Section Beef & Fish Combo– This is my go to for hot pot and the one here was great. Both items cook well in the hot pot, the beef is nice and fatty and the fish has a nice texture and taste. This combo always works.

I still love Zebra and come here all the time for food and drinks, but it’s been a while since I used their karaōke rooms. I finally did so tonight and sadly have to take one star away from my previous review. It seems as if they haven’t updated the English song list in a while: a bunch of hit songs from the past few years are missing, and they don’t have Journey. How does a karaōke spot not have Journey??? I’ll still be a regular for their food and drinks, but until they update their song list, I might start going elsewhere for karaōke.

Delirium on tap for half price?! Yes, please! This place has the best beer deals. It is happy hour every day until 7pm which is half off for all beers. Usually, this means Coors Light, etc but they really had some great beers on tap and in bottles. One of my favorites is Delirium so of course we got a pitcher of that. Next, we tried a strawberry beer that was so sweet and crisp. They also had a jasmine tea beer that was very good. It is one of my friend’s favorite beers and she said that it is extremely hard to find. I would recommend their beers over their cocktails. I tried their Lava Flow cocktail and while it was good, it wasn’t great. The service was decent but could have been better. We came early on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn’t busy yet I didn’t feel like I always got service when I wanted. I really liked this place for a laid back birthday celebration because they have semi private lounges with TVs for sports games outside their karaōke rooms. The one lounge we were in could have held 20 people. It is hard to find a private space like that in a bar in Flushing so I was so happy to have found it. My one suggestion is to improve their sweet potato fries. They were literally slices of sweet potato in fried dough, not what is usually thought of when ordering sweet potato fries.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon for fellow Unilocal eliter Cathy H.‘s birthday. It was my first time here. I liked the vibe and how there’s a bar area but also an area with couches to lounge. It was a nice surprise to find all of the beers half off before 7pm. There was a decent variety of beer, and the food was a little overpriced for a bar, but aren’t they all? I liked the mix of Taiwanese dishes and typical bar snacks. The servers were nice and handled our large group of 8−10ish very well. One thing I disliked was the water bug we discovered on the table! And how when we told the servers they did nothing about it. Fine it’s a dark so that’s inevitable. But pretend the care! Bah Fortunately I really like the atmosphere of the bar(on a Sunday afternoon) and the food was decent. And so was the beer. So I would return. I would just be careful of my food on the table incase a water bug crawled on it…

This place is truly a hidden gem in Flushing! It’s in one of the little alleys near Paris Baguette so it’s not as conspicuous, which also means it doesn’t get as rowdy or crowded, making for a really pleasant dining experience. I haven’t tried their bar/lounge or KTV rooms yet, so this review is just for the hotpot place. In my opinion, this place beats all the other hotpot places in the area hands down. You get to benefit from the clean, modern, and chill ambience of the bar/lounge while eating hotpot. The quality of the food is much higher than other places and each person at the table gets their own pot and temperature control. They have a huge selection of sauces to choose from, and there’s so much food! You have to be careful not to overeat here. I also really enjoyed their appetizers. I haven’t found many places in Flushing that can do authentic oyster pancakes and popcorn chicken that’s on up to par with the ones in Taiwan, but this place comes very close! And everything is very reasonably priced. The quality of the service is excellent as well. The wait staff is always polite and attentive, filling our pots with broth when we run low. Also this one is a bonus for those with relatives recently from Asia and are more comfortable with Asian service. I took my boyfriend’s Japanese parents here and they noted how well trained the wait staff were because they received things(credit card tray) with both hands. It’s a minor detail but conveys respect to the patrons. So Unilocalers, if you’d like to impress your Asian relatives or in-laws, bring them here. XD 10⁄10 would make this my #1 go-to place for hotpot in Flushing.

Came here last night for a night cap with some of my fellow Unilocalers! It has an intimate, modernesque vibe to it with a square bar, spacious dining area and private karaōke rooms. We all sat at the bar and started with whiskey and green tea, neat(Jando S’s recommendation but he prefers it on the rocks… I like my whiskey neat, amiright!), lychee martini for Siu N. and the tropical juice non-alcoholic cocktail for Kathy X. aka Sparkles! I then moved onto a maker’s mark, neat of course! Unfortunately, it was an embarrassingly unprofessional under-pour by the bartender :(I don’t know about forgiving that one… Moving on, I decided to take a gander to the restroom and after amusingly turning corners and opening random doors to empty yet comfortably furnished karaōke rooms(one of which noticeably smelled of stale cigarette smoke, tsk tsk), someone from the staff annoyingly directed me to the restroom. Guess they weren’t amused as I was, lol. Would definitely come back to try their karaōke experience and see for myself!

Before we get started here, it’s important to note that this is NOT the Skybar, which does sport the word«Zebra» in its namesake. From experience, it may be a good idea to make the qualification of which place you are indeed going to when making drinking arrangements with a group of friends; you know, just in case one decides to take the hike to one versus the other, thereby separating themselves from the group and ultimately depriving the group from being made whole(you know who you are). Now that that’s out of the way, Zebra lounge sports a super sleek look, which was a bit of a surprise(albeit a pleasant one) for this particular Unilocaler. I’ve made a couple visits to this place in the span of a few weeks, at different hours(day v. night), and I appreciate the nuances that each experience brought to the table. During my night time excursion, right on the heels of Flushing Night Out at the town hall, I joined a collection of peeps who happened to score a booth. It wasn’t late in the evening yet, think 9:00 — 10:00, but there was a good collection of people in attendance; some crowded the bar, us lucky few had booths, and we could hear echoes resonating from the karaōke rooms with their genesis coming from wannabe songstresses attempting ballads that were way outside of the realm of their abilities. Either way you slice it though, all three distinct groups of patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves. At the booth, we had plenty of room, quick and efficient service, and a television. The guests at the bar, if they were lucky enough to score a seat, had individually built-in drink coolers where they could put their drinks in to; really cool stuff. The bar area, situated in the middle of the whole place was very square/symmetrical, with four parallelogram-esque television sets facing each of the cardinal directions; the set up was very reminiscent of mission-control center/war room in the reboot of «Battlestar Galactica»… awesome f**king show beeteedubs. My post dim sum experience to this spot in the early afternoon proved to be a very different experience, though this was in no way a bad thing. Upon checking Unilocal, looking for a place to post up for a cheap drink, I was delighted to discover that this place was open at the relatively early hour of 2:00 in the PM. The place was nowhere near as well attended as it was on the Friday night when I had visited; myself and my guests for the weekend were able to easily find seats at the bar, where it was revealed that each bar seat came with those cool little individual drink coolers(see previous paragraph). Upon receiving the check, we were pleasantly surprised to see $ 3 knocked off each of our drink orders; it didn’t even occur to any of us that it was indeed happy hour. So if you ever find yourself in Flushing, you can’t really do much better than Zebra Lounge. It doesn’t matter when you come, day or night, the place is a solid watering hold.

Ambiance: chill bar/lounge, nice setup Service: I have found instances when I’ve literally had to walk over to get someone to get my order taken when I was seated at a table and other times they’re pretty attentive so honestly it probably just depends on the night Food: I don’t come here for the bar or the karaōke… I come here for the food! The Taiwanese sausage, spicy beef tendon and beef noodle soups are always ordered when I go! Delicious! The shabu shabu is pretty good too! I noticed the prices were different for food in the karaōke rooms and upstairs so that’s a tip. Way upstairs then go downstairs All in all I’ll prob be back at Zebra this week to order the Taiwanese sausage, spicy beef tendon and beef noodle soup nom!
