Great selection and excellent customer service. Really, what more can you ask for? We find our selves mainly ordering on-line (that’s how we roll), so when we need to return or exchange a lid, we take advantage of the local outlet shop. This makes things so convenient, and the staff at Lids has always been gracious and accommodating. (Not always the case, when returning or exchanging an on-line purchase to a «brick & mortar» location). They seem to have all the local teams and and many of the popular Major League teams from around the country. Always with the latest and «hippest» models. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’ll special order it with a quick turn-a-round. They often run sales and I’ve been pleased with the social media marketing they use to communicate those offerings. I’m sure as I grow «balder» I’ll be buying more Lids, so I’m glad these guys are close by.

Only shop here when they are having their twice yearly clearances.
The first clearance is after Christmas and the other is around 4^th of July.
They literally dump a boatload of hats. I bought 5 Adidas brand hats that retail for $ 25-$ 28 for $ 5 a pop. This store takes in all the overstock for Northern CA. I have had my best luck at this store. They also sell other more expensive hats for $ 10 or $ 15.

Basic no-nonsense shop carrying ball caps, hats of all kinds. The licensed ones are so-so quality… but in a pinch, when I don’t have any options, I know I can get a cap there, for relatively cheap.

WORST LIDS EVER. DO NOT GO HERE. The employees are COMPLETE idiots and do not care about the customers at all. Lids is one of my favorite stores and I always order hats online and get them shipped to the store but for some reason the one time I choose to ship to this store THEY SEND THEM BACK without even telling me they got them. This is the WORST STORE EVER. THE WHOLE CREW SHOULD BE FIRED. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE AND DO NOT TRUST THEM AT ALL WITH YOUR ONLINE ORDERS. I WILL BE TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT THIS HORRIBLE STORE.

Much better than the alternative Sports Fever in the Folsom Outlets. While Sports Fever has a variety of gear, Lids only has hats, but the quality here is in general much better. I’m a sports cap fan anyway — a fetishist of sorts.
The service here isn’t nearly as pushy as at a lot of other sports gear stores, and whoever is behind the counter during my visits is usually pretty accommodating.
I’m peeved that authentic sports gear is confined to specialty stores with poor selections and huge markups.
