I ordered the six-inch sweet onion chicken teriyaki with avocado, on honey oat bread(I also uploaded a photo). The chicken was very off-tasting… not only cold, but just wrong, like it might have been a bit past the expiration date or something. The veggies were all fresh and the bread was fine. If you like avocado, and you check out my photo, you can probably see why I’m peeved. Not only did she not give me the whole quarter avocado, but what she did give me was just very badly placed and ended up falling off. The service was kind of terrible. Not only was the line moving very slowly, but I seem to have angered the sandwich maker by existing. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but she kept narrowing her eyes at me and speaking in a snappy kind of voice. I don’t like lettuce, so I asked for double tomato and cucumber. After clarifying this at least twice, she asked if I wanted six pieces of tomato, so I said yes. Then she asked me how many pieces of cucumber and olives I wanted. How many olives slices do I want? Really? Um… twenty? I noticed that she asked the people behind me how many pickles they wanted. I feel bad because maybe she just has OCD or something but it almost seemed like a scare-tactic to get people not to ask for extra vegetables. The guy in front of me got a free cookie for no apparent reason other than maybe because he was cute. If it was for the slow service, I thought I should have been offered one too, but I was not. Hmm. The lobby and tables were clean and the girl who rang me up was friendly, other than flirting with everyone but me of course.

This subway was just opened when the did a Wal Mart remodel. While I love that Wal Mart is moving to Subways instead of McDonalds in their stores I must say the owner of this subway franchise needs to do a much better hiring job. The three girls working were very unprofessional and their work station was messy. Two of them spoken Russian the entire time to each other laughing as they chatted while making sandwiches which made the three people, including myself, in line uncomfortable. The only time they even looked up at the customer and spoke English was to ask if we wanted veggies and all of that stuff. I am all for individuality and being proud of ones heritage… but in a store that is probably 99% English speaking customers you should not be chatting in another language because it makes customers uneasy and will make someone assume you are talking bad about them. The location looks nice from the outside but the employees did a terrible job keeping their area clean and the store was not even that busy to warrant a messy area. I am scared to think of what this subway will look like in 6mths. I will stick with the subway on Blue Ravine in the Raley’s shopping center. The employees are always clean and professional, the location is spotless and the owner is often there and truly cares about his business.
