Summa Sushi

Went in on a Friday night, got a table for 2 pretty quickly. Had a dragon roll, spider roll, hot sauiki (?), and 2 large beers, $ 40. This place is pretty cool. My only complaint, we would’ve had more drinks and maybe more food but the services must’ve asked us like 4 times is we were read to pay the check. We felt rushed and had a hard time relaxing and enjoying ourselves.

Best sushi I ate for sometime and I am a big sushi man… highly recommend the stuff super nice as well the place is super clean… Enjoy my Unilocal friends…

Don’t go. Service sucked but what’s worse is the sushi wasn’t any good either. Waiting still for my check. I’ll never get out of here…

Came here a few times, as there isn’t too many sushi places around.
Everytime though, the staff seems to be in a bad mood. No one seems happy there.
Food was ok, pricey for the quality and service.

The food is good. But the service is so slow. Like painfully slow. Don’t come here if you are pressed for time.

Cute trendy little spot that we discovered on our way to Vegas. Liked that they have little creative twists on their dishes like spicy garlic edamame and fusion sashimi dishes.
Also, good ambiance and good service. Not bad!

Delicious. Never too crowded and the foods always on point. Ankimo is probably my favorite and not on the menu. Ask for it!

I come here once a month and the spicy tuna rolls are always amazing. The other rolls are really good too. I was surprised when the Mexican restaurant that used to be here closed but I’m glad it’s a sushi spot now. The tables are always clean and the service is quick.

The fish was not very fresh and the service was extremely slowwww. I actually threw out a few of the pieces which never happens! Meh

Nice little strip mall sushi restaurant. We came in on a busy Friday night about 6pm on a Friday night and waited only 5 minutes to be sat down even though the place looked packed. Got several of their signature rolls which were very delicious, got their 2 item combination plate that was excellent. Their house signature cocktails were super good! Sushi chefs join their bar patrons with a drink of beer which is my absolute favorite. Atmosphere and music was great! They played Bob Marley, UB40 and other popular reggae tunes for about an hour while we were there. Very attentive waitresses. They seem to have a round robin wait staff, so we gave orders to a few different waitresses and were checked on again by different waiters/​waitresses. 5 stars cuz I didn’t see anything disagreeable at all.

The lady that sat us was pretty rude and and samething when she took our order. another lady brought our food and she was much nicer,
We ordered the baked langostino and it tasted really bad, real fishy and old.
ordered a few other rolls and nothing special at all. sorry wont be coming back.

So happy we stumbled across this little place in Fontana. Our favorite sushi spot is a little farther so we were happy to find a good sushi place closer to home. In reading the reviews we knew not to expect spectacular service, but as long as the food was good we would be happy. To our happy surprise it really was, the attitude of the chef left something to desire for which is why 1 star was deducted.
They do have creative twists to the regular olé rolls and the fish is pretty fresh. I added the rolls we tried and they were all excellent. We will most definitely be back and endure the mediocre service as the food is still worth it.

I went here for something light to eat with my bf. We ordered miso soup, salmon sashimi, rainbow roll and tuna roll. Everything was came out fairly quickly and tasted really good. I would definitely come here again for a sushi fix.

Sushi was delicious and the presentation was great. When you walk in it has a great ambiance plenty of seating and a good size sushi bar. We had lunch there and it wasn’t too busy so the service was good.
The baked salmon roll was amazing!!! Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

One of the better sushi places in the inland Empire, or specifically in the Fontana area. The location is convenient and a large shopping center with ample parking right off the freeway. The restaurant is good sized with a lot of booths, but could use more counter/​bar space. Looks like the average sushi place and has all the regular amenities, including TVs. We were greeted immediately and found two spots at the bar. The sushi chefs greeted us and gave us their recommendations. They could have been a tad friendlier, but they were attentive. I read some not so good reviews regarding the service here, but at least at the bar we had no issues.
Most importantly the food. I would say it was slightly above average but nothing extraordinary. Their portions were average, for example I noticed that their sushi fish fully covered the rice but was sliced thinner than what I’m used to. The rice was also packed in there well. The fish was fresh however. The climb was a little bit on the fishy side and could have been rinsed a little bit longer. They have a couple of specialty rolls that I enjoyed, the oh no roll was a little bit different, garnish with parsley, mango dressing and topped with a sweet cherry creek, interesting a must try. Overall I like this place and will be back.

Great Sushi! Customer service is okay, could be better, but did I mention the food! very clean and greeted properly at the door by the sushi chefs.

The best sushi in the IE.
I haven’t had anything better in the IE and the OC. All their rolls that’ve had were great. The spicy edamame beans are delicious and the service was great.
The owner is very active and friendly.
If you live in the IE this is the spot to get some good sushi. Too bad I live an hour and a half away. If I weren’t so busy I would be here a lot more often.

Came in on a Thursday evening on our way to Las Vegas. There was only 1 couple at the bar and 1 family in the booth. And we decided to sit in a booth.
I ordered the tiger roll– absolutely loved it! (Just had a little too much of the spicy mayo sauce, but you can always just pick it off!)
Bf ordered the dragon roll and he loved it as well. Completely satisfied bellies and we were on our way!
Service was good, waitress always checked on us and refilled our waters. Thanks Summa Sushi! We will definitely be back the next time we are on the way to LV! :)

It’s those desperate times in need where I’m thankful for the trusty Unilocal app that lets me pull up an above-​average sushi spot in a city that I’m unfamiliar with and need to find something quickly. Otherwise, wouldn’t have made my way to Summa Sushi because I don’t really have much reason to be in Fontana in the first place. Sushi was good enough, rolls were pretty big and I was satisfied. Definitely worth the pit stop, and the location right off the freeway is a big plus.

I’ve had much better sushi in la but I enjoyed their spicy tuna crispy rice and their baked lobster roll. Their blue crab roll was ok and their escolar and salmon sushi pieces were very fresh. The seafood udon noodles were nasty and smelled funny. Stick with the sushi here. The red bull roll was not that good no real flavor. The server Rachel was lovely and very nice. They have excellent service here that is for sure.
