When I used to live in Forest Hills, this was my roommates and I place to go. We would either order in or go at least once or twice a month to the restaurant, after I moved to the other side of Jewel Ave at the Flushing side I still will order from them even if I had to wait an hour and a half for delivery, just because Jade was that good. There must’ve been a turn around with employees there because I didn’t recognize some of them; I’m telling you I was here religiously from 2011 – 2014. I raved about this place to my boyfriend since we starting dating and we never had the chance to come until Sunday night. The wait at 5 Burro’s was too long so we came here, everything we ordered except for the Wok Charred Edamame and the Shrimp Tempura roll tasted a-ok. I was really disappointed at the mediocre food, the service was great the server was very attentive but the food wasn’t how I remembered it and I felt just as bad that I made the boyfriend go through this pain with me after months of nagging him to come here. Even the drinks weren’t how I remembered. The Pad Thai was too sweet and there were more vegetables than anything else and both drinks was also too sweet and it didn’t pair well with the already sweet Pad Thai either, where was the not so sweet tangy sauce that it was made with? I really hope that Sunday night was an off-night because it really hurts that one of my favorite restaurants in Forest Hills can go downhill like this

Came here with my Mom last night for my birthday. Such a nice restaurant in a nice location. The décor is really pretty too. Super friendly staff, especially our waiter Eddie. He was very informative and seem like he knew the menu very well. The manager seemed really nice too. The food was freaking awesome especially the Ciel roll and the popcorn shrimp. What I really like about their food is that they offer traditional Asian cuisine, but add their own unique spin on it. I never though strawberry jam on sushi would taste good but it really did! My mom loved everything too! I’m glad that I found this place because we will definitely be coming back ^^

This is a hip restaurant, great date spot, but sometimes the music is a bit loud. It has a very nice Koi fish pond in the middle. The sushi is good, not the best but good and their Thai dishes are also good. Try their sushi pizza. I like their roll with the Toro, do not recall the name. Desserts are worth a try. I’ve been here approximately 5 times and will return.

Had a great time for my friend’s birthday. The atmosphere was really nice and although the place is a bit hidden we found it thanks to the sidewalk sign. They even offer valet parking for a reasonable price. I ordered the Jadetini which was delicious but they ran out so i had to order the Asian pear drink which was hmmmm delicious. I ate the Szechuan jumbo shrimp with edamane and string beans. It was spicy but not too spicy just right snd scrumptious. I tried the Teriyaki salmon & Jade salmon which were both equally delicious. They almost forgot our appetizers, we had to remind them. Overall we had a great time. I would visit again.

My favorite place in forest hills. Have been coming here since they opened. Classiest and coziest establishment around Austin street vicinity. The food is great. I’m a foodie so I I wouldn’t just say that. I hope they keep their integrity and don’t let unstable patrons roam in there and ruin this integrity which l have once witnessed and was shocked. The manager was very apologetic about it and it’s understandable sometimes. Will not give a lesser review for that but will edit it if I ever witness that again — which I hope I never will.

Service was great. We got our food quickly and never had to ask for our glasses to be filled. Tapas: Fish Tacos — Loved the mango salsa, wished there was more fish though Sushi Pizza — Really tasty Sushi: — Hill Roll — Blah Entrée: Seafood Dish — Was good Desert : White Chocolate Wontons — Was simple and good Overall, the food was good, but nothing to go cry home to mom. I think what I liked most about this place was the ambience. They had a dj playing music and the place had a chill feel. Great for a date

Great cocktails, appetizers, and atmosphere. Went on a Thursday night with a friend and we were immediately seated. It’s hard not to notice the décor, koi pond, well matched to the Nirvana and Oasis playing. We had no idea it was closing in two hours, but still felt like we had plenty of time to get comfortable and enjoy our meal despite our waiter rushing us near the end. My friend measures the quality of a restaurant or bar by their ability to make a cosmo and according to her, they deliver. I myself had a Jadetini that was tasty and well made along with a tamarind margarita which is something I normally wouldn’t order but was pleasantly surprised; If we had the time I would’ve definitely ordered another Jadetini. Highly recommended. As for the food, we had mostly appetizers like the beef satay, California and Eighty-Eight rolls, and the crispy calamari which were plenty. For my entrée I had the Thai ginger chicken which was alright, not too impressive, but I enjoyed all the appetizers so much more so I wrapped the entrée up to go. And like I had mentioned, it was around thirty minutes before closing when we were rushed to pick up the check but our waiter was attentive and always around. Great place for a date night, night out with the girls, and extremely convenient location near the LIRR station. Needless to say we had a good time and I can’t wait to come back.

Stopped in for a couple of drinks the other night. Nice décor. The bartender was friendly and cool and the drinks were strong. Had The Crispy Calamari to nosh on at the bar. It was true to it’s name. Too crispy for my taste though.

Several months ago I ordered from Jade via Seamless and received my sushi pizza and omakase after the rather long wait of an hour. The sushi pizza was inedible. By the time I had gotten the delivery, the pizza had degraded into a soggy slop of wet dough. I could not pick it up without it falling apart and tearing because it was so wet with sauce. I saw fish, yet all I tasted was sauce and dough. It was honestly repulsive to eat and I essentially flushed $ 16 down the drain for sugary wet goop when I was expecting a sweet and savory, crunchy and tender sushi pizza. Now, I don’t take pleasure in doling out bad reviews, so I’ll let Jade off with a two star instead of a one star, because logically the sushi pizza should never be offered as a delivery item in the first place if the time it takes to prepare and arrive will leave it in the state that I got it. I will assume that they just copied every item on the menu to Seamless without considering how their items would translate to delivery, however I’d appreciate a phone call or email advising me against throwing away $ 16 for inedible slop. The omakase was forgettable. The only part of it that I remember was the kani/fake crab meat. Omakase is supposed to be sushi that the chef is proud of serving, unique creations and seasonal items, not a scam by advertising as omakase and really just serving a chirashi or sashimi entrée. Fake crab has no place in omakase and it indicated that Jade is far from serious about their sushi. At the prices they offer this dish, just buy your own 20-pack of fake crab meat at your local asian market and order a cheaper sashimi entrée from another restaurant, because the sushi they serve here is as real as the crab.

I love the vibe and ambiance of this place. We went on a Friday night for a friend’s birthday and it was the perfect fit. The reason it’s only three stars however is because the food is kind of a hit and miss. Some of the items in the menu are pretty great but the entrees all seven of us had, we didn’t think it was spectacular. The chicken with white sauce wasn’t good. It definitely just looked like steamed chicken and vegetables you’d get from Chinese take out and didn’t have much of a wow taste either. Their food flavored could improve to match the ambiance. I will say however, if you’re looking for a nice date spot– Jade would be a cute idea.

Although I liked Jade Eatery & Lounge’s posh ambiance(and would be party-/date-appropriate), the deal-breaker here was the food. My dish(garlic chicken) cost ~$ 16 and tasted just as good as I’d get at a Chinese takeout restaurant at half the price. None of our dishes were bad, but we were all underwhelmed and disappointed that the food didn’t live up to the place’s ambiance. Our server was attentive throughout, but perhaps a bit too much so because he was slightly too insistent on up-selling us the typical restaurant fare.(Minor observation: he didn’t fill up our glasses of water all the way, which resulted in him at one point filling up our glasses, taking our orders, and then before he left immediately refilling them.) Ideally I’d like to give this place two and a half stars. But since that isn’t an option and at the end of the day no one in my party of three would want to return here due to our«Meh. I’ve experienced better» assessments, I’m rounding down to two. I completely agree with another Unilocaler who wrote, «You pay for the place, not the food.»

I love this place. Food and drinks are awesome. My 2 favorite drinks are Lychee Martini and Jaded Passion. Jaded popcorn is very nice. I usually order fish or shrimp. Great place for dinner or drinks.

Not what I expected. With its pond and statues, Jade was more of a museum than a restaurant for me. It was very well decorated, but the food was disappointing and overpriced. I had the salmon as suggested by the waiter, and it was surely not the best I’ve had nor was it authentic Thai cuisine. You pay for the place, not the food.

Update: OK so I know I said on my previous review that I would never return here. I did return to Jade a little over a week ago for a friends birthday that she chose Jade. I will say that I was presently surprised that Jade has now turned back into the fun atmosphere and great food that I remember from years ago. I used to be a regular at Jade at least three times a month for years and just had one bad experience in 2014 that stop me from going. Everything went extremely smoothly from our drink orders, bottle service and the food. Our appetizers tasted great and so did our entrées. Our server was great I wish I could remember her name but all I can remember from our conversation she was a film student at the New York film Academy. I will be honest her exemplary customer service is what made for a great dining experience and for me to return on another occasion to Jade.

Why did I have this place bookmarked when I’ve been here numerous times? Also why am I just now writing a review. I digress. Jade Eatery is an amazing Asian inspired restaurant. Perfect for date night, getting up with the girls or if you’re looking to impress a potential client. Ambiance is everything to me and Jade has that«IT» factor. A certain je né sais quoi that matches the entrees and drinks. Over the years Jade gets better like fine aged wine or bourbon. I’ve tried the Kani salad. I wasn’t a fan of it. It’s edible just not the best that I’ve had. What I recommend as a starter would be the Steamed Edamame, Jade Wings, Lollipop Chicken, Jade Popcorn Chicken, Crispy Calamari, also the Sweet & Crispy Shrimp. Their Sushi and Speciality Rolls are delicious but rather on the small side for the price. The entrees I recommend are the Calcutta Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef, General Tso’s Chicken, Crispy Thai Beef, Basil Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, Thai Basil Fried Rice, Wok-Charred Broccoli, also the Chicken and Broccoli. Their koi pond is absolutely beautiful. Even their bathrooms have a flare about them. This is Forest Hills’ hidden gem.

Went to this place first time last night. 3 star rating is mostly for the ambiance of this restaurant-which was great. The food, prices and service(server was good-overall service was bad) on the other hand not too great. We had the following : Thai tea — over priced Jade punch –defiantly overpriced $ 6 for mix fruit juice(no alcohol) Lollipop chicken — was good but a little too crispy for our taste Vegetable spring rolls– amazing Sushi pizza– worth a try, wouldn’t order it again Crispy Thai beef– save your money and go to local Chinese restaurant Fried ice cream– server told us it was not his favorite, we should have listened small hookah– don’t get hookah from this place. Hookah was made horribly and was $ 28 for a tiny hookah. We should have known to skip it when the waiter didn’t even know what flavor they served and wasn’t on the menu.(Biggest waste of money) I had emailed and called this restaurant 2 days prior to make reservations for my wife’s birthday. Made sure they were aware to bring out a sparkler or something with the desert. Something told me server was un aware of this so right before desert I had to wait by the bathrooms until I saw him so I can tell him. He wasn’t aware. On a positive note — at least all the food came out quickly.

I’ve been to this place quite a few times over the years and have never really been disappointed. I’ve always found the sushi to be of good quality and equally good taste! I’m not known for my adventurous sushi exploring taste, give me a good old salmon sushi or avacado roll and I’ll sit happily in the corner nodding knowingly at everyone. Having said that, my girlfriend will try anything sushi related, hell, I worry for the safety of the fish in their large pond in the middle of the restaurant, speaking of which, rather quite bizarrely I must say, those fish love my girlfriend, every single time we have sat near that pond they flock over to her like she is the fish whisperer or something! Poor little bastards don’t know that she would happily eat them in a roll! Anyways, I digress… The service is always good, the food is always good, the ambience is great, if you’re feeling down the walls are covered in inspirational spiritual quotes, in fact, why are you still reading this? You should be sitting and experimenting with your sushi fetish and Jade already! Always recommended…

Trendy, trendy, trendy. From the elaborate indoor pond with fishes to their exotic cocktails, this place reminds me of TAO, without the travel or the prices of Manhattan. One of the first thing that you’ll notice is the elaborate décor and the fish pond in the middle the dining area. Other than that, you’ll also notice its right inside a historical structure in the Forest Hills Gardens area. Other than that, the food wasn’t too impressionable, but the cocktails were delicious. Don’t come here without trying any cocktails.
