I honestly did enjoy the food here, but the peculiar circumstance that I faced today with one of the servers will remind me to not come here anymore. From what I understand, a tip is given based on personal opinion and experience, unless gratituity is automatically charged. Today I was approached by a server,(not even the person that took our orders or took care of us) and I was asked to double my tip after I had already signed the receipt and given the tip that I thought was appropriate for the service. Never have I come across such an absurd and weird occurrence at a restaurant. How can you ask for more tip after I already tipped you? Won’t be coming back here anymore, and don’t recommend this place.

Smoke and Mirrors! Overpriced food and drinks. Wonderful ice presentation to justify high price. Portions are small and prices are big.

The food here is average fusion. Sushi is ok and their Thai is overpriced and small portions. I’ve been here about 10 times with friends and family just because they wanted to check it out. Prices has gone up steadily but quality hasn’t. One thing bothered be was I was having drinks at the bar once and then moved to a table and was charged an extra $ 1 for drinks due to moving from the bar to the table, felt it was petty.

This is a cute little Queens spot, if you are looking for a simple, light and casual dinner. Sushi is good — I’ve had better, but still it was fulfilling the ‘Sushi Craving”. The venue itself is gorgeous — very beautiful décor, and very nice staff. The place is never packed. I go here from time to time, when I just want a quiet place to catch up with a girlfriend, or have a casual dinner with the bf. I even stop by by myself sometimes & catch a bite by the bar when I am out. The wines are ehh — all basic wines, nothing to look forward to. Overall, I’d recommend stopping by if you are around and in the mood for a casual, relaxed meal.

I just love this place. Quite unassuming from the outside and then the 1st set of doors open up and I can literally hear the angels sing. I visited on a Fri at around 5:30. There was no wait and we were seated right away. The server came over and introduced himself and told ua about the specials. We chose the Lychee Martini specials. For entrée we chose the Pineapple Rice with Raisins, Cucumbers and Cashews mixed in with Shrimp. Omg! Food porn. Def one of the most delectable meals I’ve had in a long while. For desert we went with the Green Tea Icecream with Tartofu, Chocolate and Whip Cream. Again, we were in heaven. This place to me is a great place to dine with smaller groups or just a one-on-one dinner and dates. Sexy, Professional, Easy, Chic. The décor is the perfect example of what Asian fusion is supposed to exemplify. It’s not corny but very chic. On wall wine racks are discriminately placed. The chefs station is mid center in thr back and can be seen from the front. The bar is to your left and does have a TV but it doesn’t disturb or upset the theme. Everything is intentionally placed in a balanced way.

I like going to this place. It’s an excellent place to take someone special. The ambiance is nice, the food is pretty on point, and the service is above average. The price point, however, is a little bit higher than I would like to spend on sushi and sashimi. While it’s not a death knell, I sometimes would choose a different spot because of the cost. But, when I do come, it’s always fantastic.

I felt that it was pricey and they wouldn’t give us the drink special, even though it was only two minutes after the happy hour ended. Perhaps if they had been more attentive, we would have made it in on time. We ordered a ton of food. Everyone ate everything, but I wasn’t blown away. I did think the specialty cocktails were delicious. The bathrooms look like a kind of spaceship, but it’s trendy and clean.

This place is gorgeous on the inside, very well decorated. The service here is great as well… BUUUUT… they have very limited vegetarian options and it hurts my heart. I had to stick to eating«vegetable» pineapple fried rice. Now… when I say vegetable I think okay… I’ll get some broccoli at the least. They come out with the dishes, which by the way are HUGE portions. I look in… just rice and pineapple. Some cashews and some raisins. Lets just say it wasn’t filling at all. But it was good! My friend ordered the Mango Prawn and enjoyed it very much. I just wish they had more vegetarian options. I LOVE Asian Fusion food, but I was really disappointed.

I bought the Malaysian fried rice with shrimps. It was dry so I asked for Malaysian sauce. Once added, it tasted great. I probably wouldn’t get it again. My friend ordered chicken with broccoli. She enjoyed it but thought it was pricy for $ 17. I really enjoyed the décor. At 6 – 6:30pm is the best time to bet the crowds. I haven’t tried their sushi yet and that would be the next thing!

MoCA has become one of my new favorite restaurants in Forest Hills even though it has been there for a while. The ambiance and décor are amazing, and makes it feel like as if it belongs in Meatpacking(without the large crowds and overpriced Asian food.) Some of the dishes are not the best, such as the Pad Thai(which is the reason MoCA is only getting 3 stars,) but their sushi and pineapple fried rice are great. They also apparently have good cocktails, and it’s a fun place to celebrate a birthday.

I’ve been here many times and i think the food quality is very good. It could be a bit pricey but everything is presented well and the food is consistent. The Lychee martinis are my favortie and they are quite lethal for they’re very well mixed so you hardly taste the alcohol until it hits you and that may be too late. ;) They have a good selection of rolls, hot entrees and OYSTERS! yum! It’s very vegetarian friendly and i could never go wrong with their veggie rolls and udon. This is m y friend and my go-to place for girls night out for the ambiance is also the most chic and modern in Forest Hills. Foursquare has me in here about 10 times… i guess it’s really a go to place for me isn’t it? Whether take out or stay in to eat, i like it enough to be a repeat customer. :) Thanks!

My new favorite Open space Candlelight ambiance Attentive staff MoCa Asian bistro is a must try fusion restaurant in forest hills. I went on a Tuesday, early evening and happy hour runs 2−7pm at the bar and dining roomHalf off selected cocktails, try the LYCHEEMARTINI I LOVE Asian cuisine. I am hard to impress. MoCa you impressed me. The service was perfect. Our waitress got the vibe that we were not in a rush and never made us feel rushed, not even for a second! There was great teamwork going on with the staff as well. Appetizers and sushi are just fresh and delicious. I did not get to try dessert, but I will be back!

I really like the décor of this place some of the tables have LED lighting underneath and turn the tables blue. I’ve been here a few times and always have had good service never wait too long for food and have exceeded my sushi standards. yummy edamames and mini rolls which are stuffed with vegetables. I always have to get their avocado rolls just plain avocado and always an order of the tuna avocado rolls wrapped in brown rice. Always hits the spot just right and of course washed down with a glass of Riesling. Their food is pretty inexpensive for Forest Hills so it totally works for me when I’m looking for a late night spot after an intense workout to feed my appetite. There ladies facilities are very different, modern with a waterfall sink for washing your hands which I thought was pretty cool and different. The ladies stalls were spacious enough for New York bathroom standards. Clean enough not gross and give you the creeps like most New York City bathrooms. So kudos for thinking of us ladies and making a stylish bathroom. This is a spot I will return too when I need to feed my sushi craving

All the special sushi rolls we had were very good. Service was fast. Happy hour half off drinks from 4pm-7pm. We ordered 2 drinks one tasted like they poured vodka and one tasted like juice. Looks like there was a bit of a mixup there. I had the golden dragon roll. The mango pieces on top was little too sweet for me. Make sure to check the plates and utensils before you use it when you decide to sit outside. Ours were super dusty by the waitstaff were eager to switch it out for us.

Happy hour half off drinks from 4pm-7pm. We ordered 2 cocktails… one tasted like juice and the other tasted like pure vodka. Ordered the out of control roll which was a combination crunchy and what tasted like salmon but I guess it was tuna. The moca roll came with a side of lime mayo sauce which was delicious. The volcano roll came in a foil and was lit on fire. It was a great display however it tasted like regular shrimp tempura. The golden dragon roll had an interesting combination of shrimp tempura with pieces of mango on top. The mango sauce complimented the slices of mango. Make sure to check the plates and utensils before you use it when you decide to sit outside. Ours were super dusty by the waitstaff were eager to switch it out for us.

Ambiance can only get you SO far when the food is mediocre. I was impressed when I walked in. Very nice looking restaurant with lots of personality. Everyone was welcoming, we were seated immediately on an early Saturday evening. Water came quickly in cute little glasses. I was open minded because although I did find this restaurant from Unilocal,I hadn’t read any of the reviews. We started with a sushi appetizer — King Lobster Roll $ 19. Yum. Not $ 19 worth of yum, but yum nonetheless. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and my fiancée ordered the Malaysian fried rice as our entrees… Seriously lacked flavor. I tried every sauce on the table, but nothing helped. You can imagine my disappointment. Fiancée ordered a Long Island iced tea, which was meh. I ordered an electric Long Island, that was a little better… Every five seconds the waiters/waitresses kept interrupting our conversation, I guess trying to be «attentive», but there is a fine line there. All in all they nailed it with ambiance, even the bathroom was nice but I probably won’t be back.

Came here after walking around Austin and in the mood for sushi. I was with two friends and we were excited because from the outside the place looks good. Upon entering, you are blown away from the décor. Very sheek and clean. The light features and the mini waterfall are fantastic. The ambience definitely gets an A grade for sure. After sitting I checked in and noticed that a fellow friend and Unilocaler was recently at the restaurant. They raved equally about the décor and we shared the same sentiments about the food… meh. I was expecting a bit more from the food, at least to match the style and décor of the restaurant. I ordered off of the much menu and got the Thai Mango Shrimp, tuna avocado roll and the fresh strawberry mojito. My lunch special came with a salad with ginger dressing. I am a big fan of salads with ginger dressing but this one had cranberries in it… weird. I did not like that and ended up eating around it. My Thai mango shrimp had a lot of mango… a lot. It was drenched in this sauce that really overtook the plate. My tuna avocado roll was decent, 2:1avocado to tuna. I could of done with a 1:1 ratio for sure. My mojito was alright. Nothing spectacular. I think my friends shared the sentiment because we all agreed to have dessert somewhere else. The service was okay. We received water right away but after it was hard to tell who our server was. It was slow so I imagined it was a manager because everyone was dressed in all black and he had on white and black. He plus two other people brought over our meals and drink so it was hard to actually say who was our primary waiter. But everyone was friendly. Overall not too bad of a place but I don’t know if it would be my top choice to eat at in the neighborhood.

Came to Moca for dinner with a friend. She had been here in the past and raved about it. The décor is FANTASTIC! They have the whole asian, feng shui vibe down pact to the point where I felt more calm just being in there! There’s a beautiful waterfall tucked away in the dining room that’s not so large as to be the center of attention yet it captures your eye as soon as you see it. The hide away coat check is awesome and the bathrooms are super cool. Not to mention the fabulous wall wine rack, Let’s just say I want whoever designed this place to design my future house! Moving on from the décor the drinks were awesome! Priced well+yummy +potent=prefect! I had the sangria and my friend had the lychees martini. We were both very happy campers. On to the downsides: /The food was just OK. The last time my friend was here there was more of an Asian fusion menu. She was looking toward to the Thai pancake but apparently that’s no longer on the menu. We had the sushi pizza, Chilean sea bass and pineapple fried rice. The rice was great! Everything else was meh. The service was spotty and awkward lol. I am not even sure who our waiter/waitress was b/c there were 4 different people walking around who we would just stop whenever we wanted something and they would help us. All that being said I would definitely come back for the décor and drinks alone!

I came in for lunch to used up a gift certificate that I had received as a gift. I’ve been here on 2 occasions. The first time about 2 years ago, I recall the food being okay and service good. This time it’s the same exact thing. Story? I guess consistency is their strong point. I ordered the Thai Mango Chicken w/brown rice that came with Miso Soup. First of all, the portions were small even for lunch special. Presentation was excellent. But sometimes looks doesn’t translate into taste. The mango slices were okay, standard. The chicken was tasteless without the mangos. I like the basil leaves that added a nice kick but not enough to salvage the dish. Brown rice. Healthy. I also found a string of I’m not sure what it was in the food. I pushed it aside and finished the rest of the dish. I’m going for a shot in the dark and assume it was the tying binders that you might tie wires or chicken legs? Yeah… The Miso Soup was on point. The service on point. The best part about this place is the ambiance. The first time I came here it was definitely a date night spot with sharp colors in dim lighting. Now, they have new hanging décor and paintings. I might return for a date night but definitely not just to eat lunch.
