I read all the reviews on this place before the wife and I tried it and we were expecting an excellent experience. Not really sure what happened but we left pretty bummed. The food and margaritas were a little pricey but we’re very good. Where they lost it for me was the service. We were greeted with chips and salsa promptly, but after about 10 minutes we still hadn’t been greeted by our waiter or received waters. When he finally came to take our drink orders, he was very short and seemed flustered. He brought out drinks but we had to ask a second time for water. The servers were not very attentive and didn’t seem to care about people that weren’t in their section. All this can be chalked up to our server having a bad night. Understandable. However, when he brought our check, we presented a coupon that we found on the restaurants website for a half-priced entrée that expires 12÷31÷16. He had to ask another employee of he could accept it or not, came back and told us that they«can’t accept it because it’s expired or something, I don’t really know, we aren’t accepting them anymore.» It would have taken 6 measly dollars off and we couldn’t even get a straight answer why they wouldn’t take it. Anyway, all this to say we were disappointed and will most likely not be returning.

One of the best mexican restaurants ever! Their fajitas are to die for, portions are unbelievable, great service, i love this place so much the only problem is that I wish they were a bit closer to downtown but nevertheless I just love this place the best!!! :)

Good service and decent food. I ordered for takeout, and staff was very accommodating. I ordered two carne asada tacos with a side of refried beans. I expected a little bowl of beans, but was given a huge tray of beans. The tacos were yummy — warm and fresh. I was disappointed that the tacos only had white onions, cilantro, and meat. They also gave me a huge bag of chips and some salsa. My meal only cost me $ 10. I went back the next night around 830. There was barely anyone there but our orders got a little messed up. Did not get the kind of tortillas we asked for or the extra sides we ordered, but the food tasted good. Chicken was a bit bland. If you’re staying in any of the hotels next door, it’s a good place to stop in for a meal.

I got royal treatment each time I’ve been here, and the food is perfect. The location is a little hard to find, on a frontage road with connectors at the end, so look for it on your maps app first.

We recently moved to Fort Collins, and found this amazing place. We now frequent it a couple of times each week, and are always pleased with the service, and food. We have tried many different things, since it all looks delicious, and have loved it all.

Great food and really good margaritas. Not the easiest place to get to but the food is good and the servers are always friendly and helpful. I’m very picky about good Mexican food. This place has good, authentic Mexican food.

Authentic. To have pulpo as a civeche, that’s for people who love great food. And separates the people that just don’t get it.

Been here several times. Everything is usually pretty good. Service can be slow at times, but other than that good place for a meal with the family.

We had dinner here last night while shopping this side of Fort Collins. Decided to try it based on the mainly positive reviews on Unilocal we read. We were pleasantly surprised at our experience– very good service, very good food and generous portions that were given. The deluxe burrito was so big we took half home for lunch today. Very friendly wait staff as the waiter told us they also had locations in Cheyenne and Estes Park. Wish it were closer to Loveland, definitely will return again when we are in the neighborhood. To the haters, stick with Taco Bell if you must– then you won’t slow us down from getting a table sooner in here.

People scream authentic at this place. It’s not to me. Sadly… not at all… I wasn’t impressed at all and the lack of flavor was BLAH. It was taco bell on a plate at best.

So you like greasy Mexican food and huge portions and huge beers? Then this is your place. Come get a 32 or XX with your Tres Amigos platter. The food might hurt your stomach but it will leave your taste buds happy! The bacon wrapped shrimp are pretty tasty(smothered in diablo sauce). The prices are good for how much grub they serve you. Also, chips and salsa and hot re-fried beans are brought to every table when you arrive. A good way to down 3000 calories :)

Really really good food but service is lacking and they get our take out orders wrong every time. Unfortunately or fortunately we’ve found another great place in town because the manager was rude.

Considering your options in the area if you are staying at any of the hotels around the Hacienda it is your best option. The food was good, the bar had a great selection of beer and liquor as well as a few TVs and the staff were great. Super fast service, I had my burrito in less then 10 minutes and it was massive!!!

GREATLOCATIONIFYOUARESTAYINGINTHEHOTELNEXTDOOR! What cute and close restaurant to my hotel. Darling inside, relatively clean, and a friendly staff. They seemed to talk between themselves about personal issues, but I was sitting up front waiting for my to go order. I ordered the chicken chimichanga, which took quite a while to come out of the kitchen. As soon as I got back to my room, I was ready to dive in, but alas… cold, not even lukewarm :-( Ate it anyway, starving… no flavor !!! It was the soggiest chmi ever. I was under the impression that chimis were deep fried. Hmmm… at least the price was right. Good Luck, you’ll need it

Hacienda Real is well off the beaten path for me – the occasion for my visit was the awards banquet for a dog training club I belong to, and since we have a few members in Cheyenne the just-off-the-interstate location was for their convenience(and one WY member did actually show up, so I guess it was worth it). It could be that my expectations were set pretty low, but I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. I came a bit late, so there were already big baskets of chips on the table with salsa and a bean dip. I preferred the bean dip, and actually love that they offered a bean dip since it’s not something you see that often(well, unless you specifically order it …) I ordered the enchilada trio, which included pork with green chile, chicken with mole, and ground beef with red chile enchilada/sauce combos. I figured that at least one would be to my liking, but in fact I enjoyed all three. There wasn’t any heat to any of the sauces so if you’re a chile-head you will no doubt find them bland, but I found them flavorful and closer to what I’ve actually encountered in Mexico. The chicken enchilada was my fave. The drinks menu had many variations on the margarita theme, which I pondered for a while before just settling on having beer instead — and yay, they had Negra Modelo, my vote for best Mexican beer, period. Service was attentive, and I got a kick out of how our waiter called everyone«señorita» without regard for the number of grey hairs we had on our heads. The main downside, as others have mentioned, is the noise. Sure, the fact that we were a large group didn’t help, but even so the conversations from other tables seemed to be bouncing all around. If you can view it as a «lively» atmosphere you might find it fun, but if you are looking for quiet this isn’t the place. I’m not sure I would go out of my way to come here, but certainly would stop in if I were in the area and was famished(oh, I forgot to mention portions — generous, to say the least!) and would certainly recommend it to any of my dog trialing friends when they are in town for an event and staying in the motels out that way.

This is authentic Mexican food, not the psuedo-Mexican most Americans are used to. I grew up travelling to Mexico and went to school there for a couple years. I’m always disappointed at «authentic» Mexican food places in the States. This place is great. Décor, service, ambiance, and especially THEFOOD. Traditional«salsa» for chips in Mexico is just that, a thin sauce. Chunky salsa is not normal, that is called«pico de gallo» and is actually used as a condiment. Real’s was perfect and served with refried beans, too, which is a nice addition. I’ve had so many items that it is hard to talk about them all, but I will tell you that their Mojarra Frita is brilliant. It is a whole fish, cross-hatched and deep fried, then served with all the fxings to make tacos. This is a very traditional dish and hard to find outside of Mexico. ITISSOGOOD. And the seafood paella? Mmmmmm! I love this place, my mother loves this place, all our friends who are from Mexico or grew up in a Mexican family love it. Oh, and for the amount of food you receive, their prices are CHEAP. We always have a ton of food to take home for another meal.
