Personally, I love eating at huhot! I love the buffet and I love all of the different meats, veggies and sauces! The food is super delicious and they even have suggestion cards that tell you good items to mix together to create a delicious meal! I love the idea of huhot, but the actual experience is not very great. They have servers but their service is not the best. They will get you a drink and then basically nothing else until the bill. They are not very nice or customer involved. The other bad thing is the presentation of the food. The areas where you put your uncooked food together are very messy and gross looking. Although the servers could use some SERIOUS customer service skills and the place could be more clean and organized, the food is always worth it.

only so so. Sadly– the idea should be good, but they did not seem to care. I love seeing my food cooked, and at usual places, its fun, and energetic, here? Not so much.

There aren’t enough words to properly describe how wonderful this place is. I have never had a bad experience at Hu Hot. The service has always been prefect, and the food has always been good because you choose the ingredients yourself. I have always had a good time here and it has become a favorite of mine and my family.

After being read my rights from the server on how the place opperates, everyone has to build their own plate, we ordered drinks from the weak drink menu and proceed to the food aisles to find all the plates covered in food that looked like it had already good through the dishwasher. We mentioned it to an employee nearby and he took one look and began gathering all the plates to be rewashed. Having worked in restaurant we knew better than to experiment our guts with this place and walked out. Utterly disgusting place with weird rules and no craft beer… In Fort Collins.

This hurts to write this… I have been a long time fan of Mongolian Grill’s — I would go on almost a weekly basis when living in Oregon/Washington. The first time I visited HuHot in was in Spokane WA. I was very used to ‘hole in the wall’ Mongolian Grills. The décor was awesome, and the buffet setup was inviting. When I moved, I was disappointed in the lack of Mongolian grills in Colorado. So, you can imagine my excitement when I realized there was a HuHot in Colorado. I didn’t realize at the time there are other locations closer to me than the Fort Collins location, I didn’t care it was 1.5 hrs away, I wanted some Mongolian Grill! We planned a mini trip up to Fort Collins — I mean it is an amazing town. I first would like to start with something positive, the location, College Ave. We found parking very quickly and enjoyed walking around. I brought along a Mongolian Grill virgin, who has heard me praise my love for the style of food to ad nauseam. When we entered HuHot, I noticed it seemed smaller than I am usually, and was greeted quickly and sat. The server was prompt — not overly friendly — not rude. As I rushed up like a giddy school girl to create my masterpiece my heart sunk. As we grabbed our bowls I instantly took in the state of the buffet — I even started to APOLOGIZE to my boyfriend that HuHot isn’t like this! He smiled and told me it was OK, he knew how excited I had been to go here. Noodles– actually looked old. Not to mention I didn’t even do Rice Noodles because there was a piece of meat(I think it was crab… didn’t go in for a further look) floating in them. Meats– this is where my biggest disappointment was, it was a complete disaster. I had to tell my boyfriend he was grabbing pork. Why? Because pieces(more than one) had been all mixed. It looked as if it had not been maintained for quite awhile, and people had changed their minds and almost ‘dumped’ their portions back. Veggies/Etc– Everything looked fresh, but it also was far from maintained. Veggies were scattered between the individual holders. Sauces– There was no reason for labels, really. There were spills everywhere, and many sauces clearly had others accidentally dumped in. To be honest, it was disgusting. Now I am not talking ‘normal’ spills this was clearly a lack of maintaining and care. Ladles/Tongs– They were all fairly dirty! We used the hand sanitizer to wash our hands due to them being so dirty. They had a mini hand sanitizing wash station and trash bucket. Awesome idea! Bad was the used paper towels on the ground. I picked up probably 5+ on the ground when throwing mine away — sorry its just habit to pick up stuff on the ground — I just dislike doing it at restaurants. When we got up to the grill the cooker — also not rude — far from friendly — not the usually HuHot cooking experience. I ended up going up after a couple bites a 2nd time to because my first one not cooked very well. He made a snide comment, ‘I was in charge’ Keep in mind I didn’t say anything — he must have just assumed I like it because I was back so quickly. I should point out it was NOT a busy time. There was probably 3 – 4 tables there — all with less than 5 people. They seemed to be full staff — I say that because they were a couple people just chatting up near the drink area/bar. It was a sad HuHot experience.

We visited this restaurant after work, and as far as Mongolian barbecue places go, this one is on par with others that I have been to. It can get crowded for dinner, and quite messy at the tables where you put the uncooked food into you bowl(s). Once you have filled your bowl(s), then you wait in line at the grill where they cook your food. It does get a bit dry when they cook it. You can go back through the line as often as you like, depending on how large your appetite is.

I was thoroughly dissatisfied with my experience at Hu hot this past Friday night with my boyfriend. Especially considering my first experience(at the Thornton location) was incredible. For a Friday night– or any night– they were extremely slow. And I can understand why. To begin, the décor just looks dingy and is unappealing. When we sat down and were given our menus, the drink menu was sticky and dirty. When we got up to go make our bowls, the meat bar was all disheveled and sloppy. Some bins didn’t have their own tongs so obviously there’s some cross contamination. The sauce bar was worse. It looked like someone had a sauce-fight all over it. And you could tell the sauce bar hadn’t been wiped down for hours, as the drippage was dry and sticky. There were many layers of dried sauce. Quite disgusting. In the chefs grill area, there was grease and scraped off food ALL over the floor. I saw a cook grab a «new» spatula to start a new meal and it had left over food chunks on it. But that’s not even the worst part! I made a total of 3 bowls and EVERY time I got my food back, my noodles were extremely over cooked. They were rubbery and sometimes even crunchy. At the end, I told our waitress and she said, «okay well would you like to talk to my manager about it?» Why should I have to inform someone twice? We ended up getting 20% off our bill but I was still disappointed with my experience.

the way this place is set up is you grab a small bowl and fill it up with raw meats, vegetables, noodles, sauces, etc. and then line up to give it to the cook and watch and wait as it is being cooked. But during a dinner crowd the tables that have the ingredients for your meal can get very messy and unorganized. There was noodles mixed in with the seafood, vegetables mixed in with the meats, the sauces were in small kettles with a ladle and the ones in the back always dripped or spilled into the ones in the front. the floor was dirty and sticky with food and spilled sauces, it was a cross contamination health inspectors nightmare, plus where I was sitting they had the air condition on full blast which made for a very uncomfortable dining experience and made your food cold very fast. The waiter we had was either new or really didn’t care about his job since we had to tell him on 3 separate occasions that we wanted separate checks, plus he rather clumsily spilled ice all over the table and in my food as he was trying to refill my water glass. While i was looking up their locations they had prices listed on their online menu, but when I received the check the prices were much higher. I don’t believe I will be returning to this place anytime soon.

We decided to try them out just last Father;s Day. The waitress got us seated fast and recommended the mixture of appetizers. It was very good and waiting for us with our drinks when got back to our seats. They seamed a bit busy that day. They had a large variety of foods you pick from for them to cook. I got in the line backwards but the cooks showed me the correct place. It was neat to watch them cook our food. The bowls are small so I would say get one for the noodles and one for the other items you want cooked. I liked the lemon I put on my food choices. It is all you can eat so you can always go back again if you are still hungry. We all did once. We got stuffed! Great food for the price. I will definitely go there again next time I am in downtown Ft. Collins Colorado.

This location is 100 times better than the express version on Harmony. Love the opportunity to make your meal however you like and go back more than once.

The food isn’t like top notch stuff or anything. Better than dining hall food I mean. But dude, make your own stir fry all you can eat! How could you beat that. The chefs are pretty quick too, and don’t mind if you bring two bowls at once. If your real hungry this place is worth it

A cool and funky place. Didn’t expect it too be the way it was. Food was very good. You can follow the pre made recipes or just wing it and come up with your own. It’s all you can eat so definitely go hungry. Will definitely come back here the next time I’m in Fort Collins.

Came in today. The hostess walked us to the back of the resturant and we passed about 6 booths. I asked her if we could snag a booth politely. She snarled at me and acted like a child and walked us back to the front. Whatever. Attitude not needed. She went and cleaned a table for us(three I saw were clean!!!) And took about ten minutes to do so. I was so irritated. I let our server know and he wasn’t very caring. I wasn’t even trying to be difficult but when we’re coming to spend nearly 40 $ for lunch in Old Town where we have so many options to eat … I except great customer service. The selection today was under par to say the least. The veggies were almost empty as well as the only sauce I like. I tried to scoop the last in and got a disgusting amount of garlic. I was then told our appetizer wasn’t coming out because they had none that prep didn’t prep today. Really??? You didn’t prep 10 $ appitizers? Our server barley apologized but made sure to let us know they had a 10,000 day on Saturday(like I care. Woopty do.) Anyways… it was a massacre trying to get around people while loading our bars to keep having to switch sides and trying not to upset people. I won’t be back but, instead of our server making sure that we had an okay time after out issues he simply told us hope we get to see you again. Haha.

I absolutely love going to this place when I am in Old Town, or when I am feeling especially hungry. The buffet prices are great for the all you can eat, and I have never left completely unsatisfied as far as food goes. Even when it is extremely busy, we are always seated as quickly as possible. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars, is because my only complaint is the lack of service I have experienced almost every time I have gone. Now, before you jump to conclusions, keep in mind it is some what non-traditional wait service being set up as a buffet. BUT, i’ve almost always had to wait 5+ minutes to be initially greeted. As a waitress myself, this is a big no no in the service industry. In addition to, there have been times i’ve had to flag someone down for silverware, drink refills, my check, etc. Again though, I understand when I see a server who looks overwhelmed or is busy. It’s not a problem for me other than when I have to flag someone down 2 – 3 times that is a little bothersome. They visit your table 3 – 4 times during the entire visit(greet, drinks, salad/rice drop off & order, check). When I have gone, during non-busy hours, I have no complaints as the servers aren’t busy and are very attentive. OTHER than that, this place is great! The company itself is awesome, and all the staff is very friendly.

Staff was nice, friendly and fast. There is a little bit for everyone. Like others said, get a smaller bowl and make more trips. This allows you to try many different sauce combos. If you have an allergy, let them know and they will clean your cook area better and use special spatulas that do not get mixed with the rest of the food. Don’t be afraid to tip the cooks, they are fast and friendly

It was okay. Nothing to rant about. Reminded me of a mediocre version of a similar Mongolian grill– Fire & Ice, from back east(MA&RI). It was cheap and good for kids(under 4 eat free). The biggest issue I had were the fruit flies all around the food at the buffet area AND around my cooked food at the table. Yuck.

EEEE I love it here! It’s so much fun to experience. I brought my parents here with my husband and we had just a great great meal together. My mother is super picky and when she takes to a place like this you know it’s good. The golden curry sauce was fantastic btw. I want a bottle of it to take home haha. We haven’t been back in a year, but my parents knew how much we liked it there so much that they sent us a gift card to HuHot for our anniversary! I’m so happy we get to go again!

We enjoy eating here from time to time. Since you pick what you want as far as noodles, veggies, meats and sauces everything is customized to what you like which makes it easy for every member of the family to get what they want! The service is always friendly and they do a pretty good job keeping the bins of veggies, meats, noodles and sauces restocked as things get used up. Its usually pretty busy so you usually have to wait in line a bit to get your food cooked but not too long! If you haven’t tried this place, check it out! :-)

I’ve been to other Mongolian Grill places, and this is by far the best!!! From the décor(though they do need to replace some of their ceiling tiles that look pretty beat up), to the layout, this place is just awesome. The food is top notch, and it is fun to watch them work the big round stone grill as they cook up your food! There is different recipes with the sauces you can do for your food, which if it is your first time I suggest you try. If you are more daring, or like me just crazy, then just load a bunch of different sauces in your bowls and make it different every time! I can’t say enough about how great this place’s food is! The service is great too, though their job really isn’t that hard since people practically make their own food. They have a number of great local beers on tap which is always a plus! If you want something different, this is where you need to go! You will be hooked!!!
