We drove from Denver, so about 60 miles, and it was absolutely worth it! The food was fantastic. My wife had the quiche and I had the Italian panini. So good, and the desserts, I cannot say enough. We got the sampler platter where you can choose 5 different desserts and my favorite was the noir and my wife’s was white chocolate bread pudding. They were definitely made in house and are just fantastic. Used a Groupon but absolutely making the drive out again without a Groupon. The owners whose names I regrettably didn’t catch, were so nice and easy going. We had a good talk. All in all, highly recommended.

It was a little ridiculous when my girlfriend and I tried to go here on Valentine’s Day for lunch. I have only had to walk out on one restaurant before this but when they came and told us that they were out of half of the items on their lunch menu and only one bowl of soup left, that tells me two things. They need a change in management who can keep their food items in stock, and secondly they don’t make anything fresh. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone anymore, which is disappointing because it used to be delicious.

OMG! Go here! We had the dessert sampler, including German chocolate cake, carrot cake, chocolate peanut butter pie, the noir and chocolate pecan pie. All but the German chocolate cake were fabulous. The German chocolate cake was a bit too dry. Still, though, what a great date night place!

This place is really great for dessert, I love the chocolate martinis and other drinks they offer. It is a great place to go after a meal but it is a bit pricy. The place is really small and always busy around holidays so I would recommend making reservations. It’s a great place to go on a date(if I had one) because it has a more romantic vibe and a lot of the tables only seat two people. Overall a delicious and fun place to eat.

I hate to do this but I am SOVERY disappointed. We are from out of town and were brought here by friends after hearing great things. Unfortunately we spent $ 36 on desserts and only took a few bites. The cakes(german chocolate and carrot) we ordered were so dry they were not edible. Nothing was anything I would recommend or come back for. Really wanted to love it, but there was nothing redeemable about any of the 6 items that we got. I am hoping this was just a one off but will never know because I am not local. For $ 36 I expected a lot more.

Tasty tasty dessert in a nice close setting. Desserts here are worth a trip up from Denver to come up to try out. Strongly recommend if you’re on a date or just want to cap off your beer drinking days w/a nice dessert.

We’ve always enjoyed eating here. We usually have the ham and cheese quiche which is a wonderful light breakfast. We get their latte’s before the meal. They used to be wonderful. But at the last three visits they have been watered down. They know what the problem is. Hopefully they will get their espresso machine fixed soon.

Came for a decadent dessert, was not disappointed. Nearly overwhelmed by choices of cheesecake and chocolates. Got drinks to match and was quite happy

This was my second visit to the Chocolate Café, and again, it was fabulous. Don’t be fooled by the name — it’s not just about the fabulous desserts. The soup, salads, and other meals are delicious and beautifully presented. It’s a lovely little restaurant with cloth tablecloths and napkins. Staff is friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

I came here with a friend to use a Unilocal deal, and expected to just grab a slice of cake. The staff was so friendly and the food looked so good, that we ended up getting dinner as well. The white pizza was so tasty and filling(I took half of it home); it paired well with their House Chardonnay. The dessert list is massive– there are so many things on there that I’ll have to come back and try. We stuck to the Trifecta(which has now become my favorite dessert), which could easily feed three people. I also ordered a Tiramisu Cheesecake to go, and did not check the order before I left. I got home to realize that I had received the wrong item. I called the restaurant when they were just about to close, and they were so incredibly friendly and helpful. They let me come pick up my correct order the next day, on the house! Quality customer service!

So the chocolate martinis are freaking awesome. Everything else was so so, being a place that caters to chocolate desserts I would expect more. I had bread pudding which was actually kind of gross. They used waaay to much egg, not enough bread and it was super bland. The other to chocolate dishes weren’t memorable. I think I have had better store bought items and for the price this quality was sub par. The restaurant itself was cute, quiet, and with nice décor. The staff was cheery and personable, which conbined that with the awesome chocolate martinis and I may give them another try if I come back to the area.

We ordered chicken, pesto, bacon panini. The sandwich is tasty. But the portion is not big. There were only the two of us at the restaurant at 12:00 noon on a Saturday. The waitress was a little too attentive. When I was still eating my sandwich, she’s already asking me if I wanted my cake. I ordered trifecta, three layers of chocolate cake, chocolate mousse and white chocolate mousse top. It was so good, so rich. Share with somebody. It was too much for one person. I enjoyed it very much.

Om nom nom. Come for the chocolate. Make sure you have a hot chocolate to drink as a starter. No packet stuff – this is the real deal. Then have a chocolate dessert or three. I loved everything I had and I tasted four dishes off the desserts menu. Go with a group, and everyone order something different – you’ll find it hard to choose what to eat, and at least this will make sure you get a lovely variety/sampler.

The layout of Fort Collins, in terms of restaurant establishments and residential areas, confuses me. They have an abundance of land ready to be developed, yet restaurants set up shop in strip centers, somewhat detracting from the warm feel of a stand-alone eatery. Alas, The Chocolate Café, though set up next to a FedEx and bus station, offers decent light dinner fare, good desserts, and a French-café feel. But the dishes are far from French, rather they are hearty American classics – chicken pot pie paired with mac and cheese were our choices for the evening. Don’t expect gastro-pub style portions, with strips of bacon sitting atop a casserole-sized mac. What you can expect are decent prices to match the smaller amounts. The pot pie, though creamy, lacked flavor. I would be hard-pressed to imagine that the mixed vegetables were cut by hand – carrots, green beans, and corn were rather uniform… if they were, it was unknown to my palate. The mac and cheese tasted standard to me. Alongside these dishes is a refreshing tomato-cucumber salad with raspberry vinaigrette. However, the chocolate ganache cake won us over and redeemed the meal as a whole. The interior melting ganache wasn’t overly runny, but it provided an appropriate texture(kind of like that Hersey’s syrup that hardens when you put it on ice cream) for the cold, beginning-to-melt, ice cream. If you find your way over to TCC, stick to the namesake: chocolate dessert.

I decided at the last minute to have desert with my BF after a meeting I was supposed to go to was cancelled… I don’t get up to Fort Collins often, so I decided to take advantage of being up there and treat us to something neither of us would eat… It was so worth it!!! He loved his polar bear martini & chocolate peanut butter pie… I got the white chocolate croissant bread pudding. Now we are sugar crashing, but omg, YUM!!!

The best dessert spot in Fort Collins! Most things here are made by hand. they also have gluten free options like a homemade lava cake. the coffee and espresso are excellent. During prime times this place can get a little crowded and does take a little longer than you think to get dessert but between the presentation and homemade nature of everything it’s well worth it.

We came in for the fourth time since moving to Fort Collins in July 2014 and it seems like they continue to underwhelm. It seemed like a great idea and we really wanted to love this place, but our experiences have never met these expectations. On a Monday in October, we came for my birthday cake(as I enjoyed the German Chocolate Cake on our first visit), but unfortunately, they were out of this along with 6 other menu items. We found ourselves choosing from items that we would probably never order from the full menu. Our next visit was in January on a lovely night with some light snow in a window seat. Our server informed us that it was her first weekend working and we grew concerned based on all the tables being full and everyone’s table either being empty with no check or still waiting with menus in hand. At one point, someone from the kitchen(in grimy kitchen attire) came out to assist. We gave them one last chance two weeks ago on a Sunday night and again the tables were full with the same server rushing around. At least this time, she had the experience to seat us and let us know that it would be some time before she could return to help us. It looked like she had to turn away someone looking to place an order to-go. After waiting an undue amount of time, we were thoroughly disappointed even in the desserts, as they all seemed to be somewhat bland and lacked a typical chocolatey richness.

We came for dinner and dessert. Made reservations on a Saturday night. Our first impression: this place was very disorganized. There were 4 – 5 open tables and 3 couples waiting to be seated. The hostess said the wait would be ~15 mins. Which was hard for some customers to swallow bc we could see so many open tables. It later became clear that they were reserved, but the confusion could have been remedied by explaining right away why they weren’t able to seat folks. We ordered soup, a panini, and white pizza. The dinner food was not too impressive. Panini was grilled on a sesame roll and was pretty small. The white pizza was really soft doughy bread with cheese on it — didn’t resemble pizza at all except for the circular shape. Soup was okay. The chocolate martini and chocolate noir were exceptional though. Really! The chocolate noir was a warm, flourless cake served with raspberry sorbet. There were perfect together. I would come back for drinks and dessert in a heart beat, but have dinner else where.

We have been here 3 times and have enjoyed it each time. Twice we had meals with dessert, but this past time we just had desserts. How delicious it was. My son really enjoys the molten lava chocolate cake. I love their ultimate chocolate cake. It is always moist with this decadent ganache for frosting. The vanilla ice cream tops off the dish making it the perfect chocolate dessert for me. oh. and did I mention how huge it is? Wow. we ended up enjoying it multiple times, since each time some of it left with us. Yum! The apple crème brûlée was softer than I am used to but still very wonderful. the cookies that come with it are also equally delicious. They service is great… the waitress was really nice and informative . Give it a try if you haven’t yet… but just be willing to deal with getting hooked. It is great to find a place that has such a nice variety of desserts plus an option for a meal too.
