The management here overall is awful and several of them know nothing about how to be a manager or market items to consumers correctly. Some departments make actively bad decisions and are not open to constructive critism. There are much better stores, and quite honestly this store in particular serves little purpose other than the specialty farm equipment. Most things you can find at other stores or online at better prices.

I’ll second Brad R.‘s review and give it a stamp for 2013 — and yeah, I’ve been coming out here every possible spring for 20 plus years to hang out with their chicks and ducklings as soon as I see ‘CHICKS ARE HERE!’ on their marquis. Sometimes they even have BUNNIES! C’mon now, that’s a happy spring day to see such a rich variety of fuzz.
Great selection of stuff for dogs and cats, too — leashes, toys, etc. etc. Nice half-​barrels for planting, quite doable little coffee shop, and some of the cheapest gas in town.
A shame the person below had a poor experience with customer service, but I’ve always had the opposite — casual, friendly, helpful people who’re quite happy to lead you to what you’re looking for.

Have been here several times and have not been impressed with the staff. Seems like a bunch of college students who just sit around and talk and laugh, making you feel very uncomfortable. The store itself is nice and they have a nice selection of inventory, however, I’d rather drive to Longmont any day and go to Murdoch’s than come to Jax. No one ever has offered to help me when I’ve been in there so I’ve actually never made a purchase there, have always walked out disappointed. The only reason it’s getting 2 stars is because the store itself is nice and the products they offer are of good quality.

Great place, at the elevated shopping experience level of their «Outdoor Gear» store closer into town. Had every tool, every fitting, every part I needed on every trip to them.

Jax Farm and Ranch is the sister store to the very popular Jax Outdoor store. Like the outdoor store, the Farm and Ranch store is very well stocked with just about any garden, home improvement, tools, or chickens that you could ask for. Unlike the outdoor store, the prices are below what you will find most other places. I love the place because it allows me to avoid stores like Walmart and Home Depot and get better stuff at a lower cost. The staff is helpful and very friendly. I am always surprised that so few people know about the store. It is a few miles further north than the outdoor store and is well worth a visit if for nothing else than seeing a plethora of different varieties of adorable baby chickens. (Peepers to those in the know.)
