I went out of my way to spend money at the local place instead of Home Depot. All I needed was some bolts for my table legs. The first time I came in, the woman was not very friendly, but I chalked it up to her just having a bad day. Turns out I got the wrong size, so I went back to exchange for the right ones. The original woman’s daughter«helped» me. She was obviously having a worse day than her mother did. She first grilled me on whether I had a receipt… She also treated me like I was only contributing to her horrible day. Even though I was getting bolts about half the size of the originals, I was willing to just do an even exchange. She told me that they could not take back the bolts now(why did she ask for my receipt?), and insisted she had to charge me for the shorter ones. I gave her back the shorter bolts and went to Home Depot just down the street. The staff there was very friendly, even the parking lot attendant said a friendly hello. I also know that if these turn out to be the wrong size, it’ll be very easy to return them. Maybe some«little guys» should go out of business…
